This text is designed to meet the needs of new early childhood students as well as experienced teachers, professionals and parents. It provides an overview of the concepts and theoretical foundations of developmental practices and discusses the practical implications for teachers and caregivers.
Assigned text for one of my classes. The formatting is meh and like many textbooks it spends a lot more time justifying its existence than actually providing valuable information, often spinning a piece of advice that could be summed up in a sentence into a full chapter. It also advises telling children that boys have penises and girls have vaginas, which is depressingly bad advice to give anyone let alone educators in the year 2020.
