Third in this spin-off of the Roman Mysteries - young Threptus has taken over solving mysteries in Ostia from his idol, Lupus, who was a character in the Roman Mysteries. In this one, omens cause problems at Saturnalia, and the magistrate Bato is about to lose his chance to marry the girl he loves because of omens . . .
