Take Two: Your Guide to Creating Happy Endings and New Beginnings

Rate this book
Life changes on the way to happily ever after, doesn’t it? I mean, sometimes you don’t even see it coming until one day you wake up and say, “Wait—this is not where I was supposed to end up!” It doesn’t matter if you got divorced, got fat, got fired, got sick, or just got stuck—you can always call for a “redo.”     See, you’re the author of your own book and it’s time for a dramatic plot twist, so let’s get working on that. This is not the end of your story; this is where you learn about second acts, second chances, and new beginnings . . .     I’ll share with you what I’ve learned about calling for a second take in my own life. I’ll tell you how I’ve done it in a very public business and managed to come out the other side with my heart intact and my feet on the ground.     I’ve always thought we reach our highest “goddess quotient” when we share our paths, especially the detours, bumps, and potholes that help us find who we really are. . . . At the end of this book, I hope you’ll go for it! The new job, the new relationship, the new body—the new you—just put it out there and make it happen. Come on! You’ve got this! Welcome to your Take 2.

The beginning had some good thoughts and inspirational quotes. However when she ended with a sales pitch for her cosmetic line and telling women how makeup should be applied I was out off. Not explaining that makeup should be a choice vs something she expects everyone to use completely contradicted the point of the book. Go back to your Hollywood life, Leeza.

This book was a takeaway at a convention and probably something I wouldn’t have picked up. It resurfaced at the right time in my life and I found some great takeaways from the book.

Have you ever felt like you needed a fresh start in life? A do-over? A chance to begin anew?

If so, entertainment icon and social entrepreneur Leeza Gibbons is here to help!

In her latest book, Take 2 – Your Guide To Creating Happy Endings and New Beginnings, Leeza Gibbons shares the tips and strategies that have helped her navigate through the challenging moments of her life.

This beautiful hardcover book is filled with inspiring stories and photos from Leeza’s life. You’ll read about the lessons Leeza’s learned – the people who've encouraged her – and the activities she recommends to help you live a more fulfilling life!

Leeza shares everything from beauty tips and business tips to personal photos and weekly PreSCRIPTions – short but practical action steps to keep you focused. Reading this book is like spending a day with your own personal mentor. Her ideas and enthusiasm cannot help but rub off on you!

I really enjoyed this book, not only for the positive message it contains, but for the care and quality Hay House put into producing it.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the publisher to review. I was not compensated or required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Content really targets the woman in mid-life. This book seemed to try to be several different things and I'm not sure it didn't do a fabulous job at any. 1.I have read many motivational, self-help, empowerment books. Some of this content was a good refresher for what I have previously learned over the years. For someone that hasn't read any in the past, it could be very influential. 2. The book could be a Leeza Gibbons autobiography - she talks a lot about her experiences with celebrities 3. There are health and beauty tips

Some good nuggets and it was interesting to read about her history and how she became successful.

Things I liked:

"Emotions are not facts."

"Let go or be dragged."

Saying you will do something once you get your ducks in a row is a delay tactic. Be like the momma duck and just start walking.

A dream is not a plan and hope is not a strategy.

"The key is not to prioritize what's on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities."
— Stephen R. Covey

this is more of a motivational book than a book on her experience with Alzheimers. In the back of the book are some links to helpful computor cites.

Lots of good ideas in the book, but sometimes I felt a bit overwhelmed, so much so that I couldn't bring myself to try them. Leeza is definitely a talented and inspirational person.
