This is a very good book for anyone who has no knowledge for calligraphy. I bought this personally because of the overall design and layout. It's easy to the eyes visually - it has illustrations/picture references for understanding, and an easy-read.
This book introduce different types of calligraphy, both traditional and non-traditional methods using various tools like broad-edged pens, ruling pens, pointed-pens, and brush. I like the way they explain each calligraphy style and teaches you through some hands-on exercises, the basic drills of how to write each letter.
It also provides stories of calligraphers and their works for inspiration. Trully will make you motivated to learn this skill.
But if you are looking for a hardcore detailed calligraphy lesson for a particular style, you may opt for another book. This is more of a generalized information for a wide range of styles. I didn't know anything about calligraphy when I bought this book, and it helped me decide which calligraphy style I want to learn first. :)
