The Spirit of Liberty

Rate this book
We entered a broad corridor with a wide-planked hardwood floor, polished to a high sheen. Voices came from a room off to one side. When we pushed open the door, I saw George Washington standing behind a podium, addressing some of his peers from mortality, including many of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Thus began Suzanne Freeman's visit with America's Founding Fathers during a near-death experience. While in the Spirit World, she was shown the tribulations and sacrifices these men and women had faced during their lifetimes as they established the United States of America. She also learned that these valiant leaders still care deeply about America and are concerned about the direction the country is headed.

As Suzanne's visit with the Founders concluded, she was given a vision of America's future-our future. It was made clear to her that while there would be challenging times ahead, America could retain its place as a chosen land if the citizens truly desire it. The Founders pleaded with Suzanne to return to earth and share their message of how we must strengthen our nation before it is too late.

As you read their words, the Spirit of Liberty will grow within your own soul and give you hope that America's future can indeed remain bright.

it started out well and then got pretty repetitive as if it just needed to meet a page quota. I wouldn't loved if she'd talked about after she came back, how her time specifically with the FF had influenced her.

I've read her NDE in Through the Window of Life and found it to be a catalyst for spiritual growth. Her focus is always on the essentials, like faith, prayer, kindness, and service. She is very genuine. I appreciate her insights into the founders of America, and especially the principles they gave her that bring us back to the essentials. America always has the president she deserves. Ain't that the truth! That's why so many good people mourned in November 2012. Will we ever have a government for the people, of the people, and by the people again? Suzanne Freeman says it is possible, but it is up to us!

I really enjoyed Suzanne's previous book, "Through the Window of Life", so I bought this new book in anticipation of reading more about her near-death experience. This little book expounds on the time she spent with the founding father's of America during her NDE. It does promote Patriotism and helps the reader to better appreciate the sacrifices these people endured for us. Now it's our challenge to save this country and it's freedoms before they are taken away from us.

I enjoyed the book, but wish it had been longer. It is easy to read in one day.

Some of this book was a repeat from what is said in Led By the Hand of Christ. So while I loved the additional information on what she saw of the founders lives, the chapter that moved me the most was Joan of Arc's. We've read aloud Mark Twain's biography of her and loved it, and this made her all the more admirable. I accused Twain of going a tad overboard on his description of her goodness, but I'm not far behind him.
It wasn't as inspiring as I hoped it would be, but maybe that was due to my "check that book off my list now" rushed reading.

This book is an inspiring, easy read, yet causes the reader to consider seriously their own Spirit of Liberty. How in line with true freedom principles is it? How strong is it? And, how dedicated am I to it?
I felt the spirit testify to me many times throughout my reading of the truthfulness of the authors words. I would rate it a four and a half because of several grammatical errors that were consistent enough to be annoying.

Subject matter- imperative. I take the topic of liberty very seriously.
There were some points of interest, like the visions of the Founding Fathers.
Writing style and extensive commentary- boring. It was a struggle to keep focused.
