This Curse was an amazing read! Again this vampire novel is not the typical read but, doesn't disappoint! Alisha has a way with words. She sucks you in to all the pages keeping you in suspense. You want every last drop as her characters so desire.

Grace is again the badass of the story and makes you envy her through out! New characters are introduced often leaving you with new desires. She is forced to deal with Lucifer himself. She embarks in a hell of a ride with twist and turns that you'd never expect.

All the characters are strong and mighty in the story leaving you respecting each one in a different way except her enemies lol. The story has such detail that it gives you a better understanding then most stories.

This book keeps you on the edge the entire time. I couldn't put it down! The words flowed effortlessly off the page with meaning and a purpose that I stills desires that you wouldn't expect. Again she is so big on cliffhangers that you want to pull your hair out trying to get to the next read immediately.

Alisha you out did yourself on this one! Way to go. I so need more!

It felt like the author had a bunch of ideas & tried to shove them all into this series. It’s a complete jumble, doesn’t really flow & I’m struggling to get invested. I’m not going to continue with the series.

I was glad to see the author hitting stride with This Curse. I really enjoyed the plot twists and enjoyed watching Grace turn into the type of main character I prefer to read about: conflicted, intelligent, strong, determined. I think my favorite theme of the series is that Grace is given a great power, but she is so thoughtful about balance when she uses it. There is still ambivalence in the romance department, but in this series, I consider the romance is teasing because all of the main male characters (Lucien, Seth, Patrick, and Lucifer)are flawed but have great potential to become main characters that could be highlighted through the series as it develops further plot lines. At this point, everyone seems to expend to much energy on manipulating Grace for their own purposes, that the author may be sacrificing character development for story line expediency. I would like to see more concentration on development of secondary characters, but maybe we will see that as the series continues. I'd like to see more story line focus on people working together to solve a huge problem, than rooting for Grace to escape someone's evil clutches (don't get me wrong, the stories have been done well to this point, I'd just hate to see the writer get into a rut where Grace is always being forced to do something while her friends are held to force her hand). I enjoyed this second book Much more than the first book (This Blood), and I think the author shows lots of promise for a nice lengthy series.

This Curse by Alisha Basso
The Grace Allen Series Book 2
Grace Allen is back. In the first book, This Blood, Grace finds a ring….well actually, a ring finds Grace and changes her life forever when she becomes a powerful Madea. Everyone wants her power. She has an understanding with the Master Vampire, Seth and her friendship with Lucian continues. Things really seem to be settling down, that should have been her first clue that all hell was about to break loose.

Lucian has a new apprentice in his life and he seems to change, drastically. A pack of wolves team up with a bad demon….as if there is any other kind….to once again pursue the Madea. And then things go to Hell, literally.

I highly recommend reading This Blood first as it lays down the basis of what the story is all about and you will meet all the characters and know who is who. These are well written books with unique story lines. Not your average paranormal. This book gets a little darker and into the depths of all that’s evil and Grace has choices to make that will change her future and the future of her friends, both old and new. I really enjoyed both of these books, they are the type you pick up, figuratively speaking, and don’t want to set down until the last word. The current story closes but with the door open enough for the reader to know…..book three is coming.

Fascinating and More Intense with each book.

This Curse ( The Grace Allen Series Book 2) by Alisha Basso

5 Beautiful Devilish Stars

What a intriguing mind the author Alisha Basso has. To be able to bring to life scenes in the readers mind of things that are unexplainable and so frightening if you believe in Heaven and Hell, and yes I do. She has your wondering if this is how it really, idk , Is it true? Did or could there ever be a Madea?
Anyhow, lol,

This fascinating story continues with Grace coming to terms with Madea, they are now one. She's discovering new powers along with more nightmarish visions.

Lucian will become someone that will shock the reader making your heat ache.

Seth is changing too, it's too complicated to try and explain. It and his parts in the story are always and intensely powerful.

A wonderful continuation of The Grace Allen Series. I'm always intrigued by the story and how the author keeps weaving new twists to it. Along with new characters.

Strong language and sexual scenes. Recommend for Mature readers.

She is different from all the others. Grace Allen is not just a girl. not a human. She is a Madea, awakened after she has found a ring from the gutter. She is the most powerful creature, so she is being sought after by the leaders of other creatures.

In this book, she is now allied with Seth, the leader of the vampires. Well, was the leader of the vampires. After his coven found out that he fell in love with Grace, he's been cast out. She is also friends with a powerful warlock, Lucian. Now, they have to face a formidable opponent. Lucifer himself.

I enjoyed this book better than the first one. Ms. Basso has lessened the unnecessary descriptions, and redundancy. There may be a few typographical errors, but not enough that you would not understand what you are reading.

I am looking forward to the next one!

Alisha Basso’s “This Curse”—Book 2 of “The Grace Allen Series”—returns readers to the seductive, dark, fantastical, and ever changing world of the Madea, Grace Allen. Ms. Basso uses humor, danger, intrigue, and eroticism to expand on storylines created initially in Book 1: This Blood. Basso’s male characters are powerful, intense, and potent alpha males representing each paranormal species. Basso’s female characters are sensitive and fiery, yet somewhat conflicted. While Basso’s storytelling in “This Blood” was dedicated primarily to creating the foundation of Grace’s world, Basso’s storytelling in “This Curse” ventures deeper into the relationships between Grace and the men she loves. “This Curse” is an excellent addition to “The Grace Allen Series”.

I really like this series. It's definitely different. So much sexy man. The heroine is an extremely strong herione. I like that, not often is a heroine made to be so strong. She does make stupid decisions, but all her decisions are made out of love, trying to protect or save someone, decisions anyone would make had they been in her shoes. The only part that kinda through me was when she met "Lu." None of the books are "possible," but that threw me for a loop. I kind of shook my head, but I do love the books and plan to read the next in series.

Lending Library ebook.
I enjoyed the story, but expected more adventures than it gave.
in this story, grace is good at predicting her outcomes but
there weren't much venturing out of comfort zones except for
a good run in with Lucifer, which was exciting. seemed
to be based more on bed scenes, (not as sexual)
a few juicy ones but more Vampiric kinds.
not how I was thinking it would end either.
I did like the Morphing forms.

What? More?
Yes!!! This installment in Grace Allen's life brings it! New characters, more excitement and adventure, and ROMANCE!
Being a Medea just got better and with Seth and Lucien around only adds to it! I love the fact that Ann wasn't missed and Jamie became a great character to have... Can't wait for #3... Will it be Seth or Lucien? Will Patrick step up or will the 6mo. visit with Lucifer bring more?

I liked this book. The story was easy to follow and an enjoyable read. The characters were great. I love the character Grace. Her humor is very good. I read this book before I read the first in this series, which compels me to want to read Book 1, This Blood. A great add to your tbr list. Recommended read.

Definitely better than the first. I'm not to happy with the love triangle that seemingly will never end. Both men love Grace and whether she admits it out not she loves both of them. What a tangled web! Not as much sex as the first one but it was enough action to keep you occupied. Cant wait till book 3 so we see who she picks.

Choices, choices

This book is all about choices. In my opinion too many. Grace has 2 pick between Seth who always has an agenda, Lucian whose dark side she has seen, and it wasn't pretty and Lucifer, who is evil. So much is going on in this book. If you read book one, like me you can't help reading on to find out how it ends.A good sign of a good story.

Since I had read book 1 some months ago, it took me a bit to get my bearings. Once I had, I read the book straight through in one day. I couldn't help but continue on to book 3 even though it was getting late. I was that interested in the story.
