Robin Kaye was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in the shadow of the Brooklyn Bridge next door to her Sicilian grandparents. Living with an extended family that’s a cross between Gilligan’s Island and The Sopranos, minus the desert isle and illegal activities, explains both her comedic timing and the cast of quirky characters in her books.

She’s lived in half a dozen states from Idaho to Florida, but the romance of Brooklyn has never left her heart. She currently resides in Maryland with her husband, three children, two dogs, and a three-legged cat with attitude.

Another good read. Dragged a bit in the middle. Wanted Becca to get her head out of her arse and stop being so melodramatic and wondering if there was a "reason" behind Rich's every move.

ah-mazing book ! really loved it its kinna like a mix of " A Girl Like You by Gemma Burgess and Perfection (A Neighbor from Hell #2) by R.L. Mathewson ...so if any one of these happen to be in your fav !!! u need to add this book NOW

seriously from the plot to the main characters...everything was fab ! the only reason this book lost a 0.5 star from me was because of the annoying secondary characters....otherwise outstanding.

and for RICH AND BECCA.....

I know a hell of a lot more than you ever will, and I can't wait to use it to torture you.
- Becca
…I know you think you can do it all by yourself, and believe me, I admire the hell out of you. But I'm a guy, and we're wired different. We're built to fix things, to take care of the women we love, to provide.
- Rich
Don't tell me. The lines between fiction and reality blurred.
- Henry
History doesn't always repeat itself.
- Henry
You too smart for your own good. You think'a too much. Life is simple. You find a man, you want the man, you marry the man, you learn to love him, and when he dies, you wear black. Simple.
- Aunt Rose
What were you expecting? I've got three months to live, and I want to spend every second of the rest of my life with you? I'm sorry to disappoint you, babe, but all I can say is that I love you. I don't want to live my life without you even when you're acting like a lunatic. How's that for a reason? Does that pass whatever test it is you're giving me?
- Aunt Rose
I'll tell you a little secret: I'm easy. What you see is what you get. I love you. I want to be with you. I want to marry you. If you're looking for some deep-seated reason, or someone with a psyche that takes years to understand, you've got the wrong guy.
Nothing is always something.
- Rich
Here I was ready to kill you, and then you go and do something sweet. You really know how to screw up a perfectly good mad.
- Becca
Rich, if you don't get your hands off me, I'm gonna have to hurt you.
- Becca
If she's in love with you, she'll have as hard a time being away from you as you will being away from her. If she doesn't, it's not meant to be.
- Vince
Trust and respect are more important than love in a relationship because no love will last without equal amounts of respect and trust.
- Vince
it might be easier to forgive people if they'd stopped hurting her or at least asked for forgiveness.
- Becca
You had better have an extraordinary excuse for interrupting a perfectly good imitation of death.
- Rich
I don't think I've ever felt quite like this. It's as if someone stole a part of me, and I'm left with a gaping hole where my heart used to be. The only thing I can compare it to is the one time I lost my wallet. I know you're probably rolling your eyes, but work with me here. Okay? There was that initial adrenaline rush, when I frantically searched high and low for it, then after I knew it was gone, out of habit, I kept reaching for it.
- Rich
I don't see how you could possibly hurt me any more than you already have.
- Rich
I've tried to not love you, but I can't.

Rebecca is a sexy artist and Richie is a hot professor. Becca and Rich discover two people sublet the same apartment to them. Becca’s best friend Annabelle is married to her brother, Annabelle is Richie’s sister. Gina is Richie’s girlfriend; she dumped him because he is not ‘relationship material’. Richie’s needs a trainer so he can win Gina back in time to take her to a ball to impress the dean. So Rich makes a compromise: Becca can stay with him, if she trains him to become a domestic god. Rich turns everything upside down from burning the food to starting a fire in the dryer. Turns out that Gina didn’t want him even though he tried to become relationship material. He realises that he’s not even unhappy about Gina because it’s Becca he wants. He takes Becca to the Ball as his pretend girlfriend to impress the dean and show him he is in a committed relationship, the dean’s wife offers Becca the opportunity to view her art. They have sex that night. Rich wants a relationship with Becca but she doesn’t want anything more than sex. Problem is Becca is the i-don’t-need-anyone-type-coz-I’-independent-physically-and-emotionally type which makes it hard when Rich admits he loves her during a fight. Rich gets a promotion but only coz Becca’s father is well known, knowing this would piss Becca off he didn’t tell her. Becca is not sure if she loves him until she thinks and says it during sex, Richie proposes. Since she spent her life with everyone only after her wealth, Becca becomes suspicious. She finds out that the promotion was due to her family and thinks rich’s love was just a faux. Becca needs to know if trust, love and self-esteem is her problem or fear to take a chance?

This book was exceptionally written, the story definitely brings a meaning to different. I liked each and every character. It also happened to be one of those books you can’t predict. A great read!

Rich Ronaldi is the ultimate hunk. He is tall, dark sexy and Italian. In addition that he is smart. Rich works as a Professor at the college. You would think he had it made. Well you would be wrong. Rich has just been dumped by his girlfriend, Gina. She tells him that he isn’t relationship material and he needs to start cleaning up after himself. Rich takes Gina’s words to heart. He will do anything to get Gina back even…become Mr. Clean.

Rebecca “Becca” Larsen gets the shock of her life. She comes home to find a strange man in her house. Becca learns that the man is her good friend. Annabelle’s brother, Rich. Right away, Becca despises Rich. Though, her thoughts of him change slightly when she catches him naked.

Rich needs to learn how to cook, clean, and do laundry in a hurry. He convinces Becca to teach him. She agrees but only because she doesn’t really have anything better to do. Will these two end up cooking something special together?

The first time I read anything by Robin Kaye was the book, Romeo, Romeo. I loved that book. I couldn’t stop laughing. Breakfast in Bed was just a good. All of Rich’s mishaps had me smiling. The chemistry between Rich and Becca was sizzling. Becca was the girl next door and Rich was the hot Italian guy, you never thought would be interested in you. Rich’s naïve approach to cooking and cleaning had me laughing with joy. Even when he messed up you couldn’t help but forgive him. Next time you are looking for a good book to read, pick up a copy of Breakfast in Bed. You won’t be sorry.

My only complaint is that there was not epilogue. I am pretty sure this is the last book in the Domestic God series, and it would have been nice for a little closure. But that certainly does not diminish how much I liked this book.

Since I read the first story of Nick and Rosalie, I have been a fan of Ms. Kayes. This book, IMHO, is another feather in the cap of a funny and talented author.

Her characters are real with flaws and insecurities they don't always know how to deal with. Throw in some humor and a few quirky characters and you have yourselves a winner.

Rich has evolved a lot since the first book, and it is one heck of an evolution let me tell you. He oozed hotness with every page turn. Becca is a very likeable character for most of the book, and except when she totally buries her head in her rear end and almost screws up the best thing to come her way in a, well forever. But have no fear, things get straighten out.

I recommend this book, series, and author to anyone who enjoys a good lighthearted romance, with a little humor and wit thrown in.

Becca is a very talented artist that comes from a wealthy family. All she wants is to make a name for herself in the art community, without the help of her family name. She needs a place to stay for a few months while the brownstone she purchased with her brother, Mike and sister in-law, Annabelle is renovated. She walks into an apartment she is renting in the meantime to find Rich, in his naked glory, just getting out of the shower. Rich is Annabelle’s brother, and Becca has definitely noticed his attractive appearance in the past. Rich has rented the apartment from his other sister Rosalie, so now they are both stuck and neither is willing to leave. Becca doesn’t want the slob Rich to stay there, no matter how attractive he is.

Rich has just moved to to New York to become a professor of psychology at Columbia University. His mentor and dean encourages Rich to settle down his private life, after a very embarrassing fling with the dean’s daughter at his previous college. His current girlfriend, Gina has just dumped him, realizing Rich is not relationship material. Wanting to prove to his new boss he has his life under control, he needs to convince Gina that he is capable of being mature. He strikes a deal with Becca, they can both stay in the apartment, and Becca can teach him to become a “Domestic God" and she will be allowed to stay. Becca only has three months until her new house is finished, and doesn’t have the energy to look for another place at the moment so she takes him up on his deal He has two weeks to accomplish this before his dinner with the dean of his school. An attraction starts to develop as Becca teaches Rich the fine skills of ironing and laundry.

Breakfast in Bed is the first book I have read by Robin Kaye and I found it to be a very cute contemporary. At first I thought Rich being ignorant to washing the dishes, cooking and cleaning would be a bit hokey. I mean, he does have his doctorate, he is no dummy. However, his interactions with Becca, and her frustration with teaching him routine chores turned out to be quite funny. Rich is a very endearing character and when he messes up in the house, you just can't help but laugh. As Rich says,

"Your sandwich is ready. I even cut it in triangles like you asked."
"I'm impressed. It looks great."
"It does?"
"Yes." She picked up a piece and took a bite.
From the look on her face, he knew she changed her mind. Then she kind of gagged and put her hand in front of her lips while she pulled something from her mouth. Oh, man. He screwed up.
Becca held a piece of plastic between her fingers.
"Rich, you're supposed to unwrap the cheese before you cook it."
"Right."
"What happened to yours?"
"I ate it."
Becca is a very likable heroine, very independent with a quick temper. She grew up in a wealthy family, but refuses to let that wealth shape who she is. She is a talented artist, but is very wary of letting her family name boost her career. She likes to do everything on her own, which Rich soon finds out.

The passion between them, once they acknowledge they truly don’t hate the other, is quite steamy. Very hot love scenes, including a mad dash home in the car with them unable to keep their hands off each other as they drive. My favorite kind of car ride!

I didn’t love the scenario of Rich’s boss telling him he preferred him to settle down with a woman and kind of hinting it is best for his career for him to do that. Rich is an intelligent person, and jumped to perform when his boss told him. It seemed a bit of a forced scenario. Also, by the end of the book, I wanted to give Becca a good shake for the way she treats Rich, but overall, I enjoyed both of these characters and I will definitely read Robin Kaye again.

Breakfast in Bed is fun, romantic and Rich will have you laughing at his attempt to become a Domestic God.

After the first several chapters in this book, the idea of putting it down and starting a different one came to me a number of times. I’m one, however, who doesn’t like to not finish a book. And in this case, am I glad I didn’t succumb to that original thought.

During those first chapters I kept telling myself this is a plot we’ve read before. Over and over again. Hero and current girlfriend break up before a big to-do he needs for his career, gets heroine to help him out, they fall in love along the way. That’s pretty much how it all starts. After the break-up, Rich asks Becca to help him become more domesticated so he’s relationship material to get the ex-girlfriend back. Even though Becca’s been attracted to him since they met at her brother’s marriage to his sister, she’s kept that to herself and pretended not to like Rich very much. But when they’re thrown into living together for a few months — all platonic of course — to keep the peace she agrees to help him out.

I also didn’t care much for Rich in these chapters. He’s in his early thirties, is a slob at home, typical man when it comes to women. I felt the author needed to do some fancy footwork to make me change my mind about him. What did she do, you ask? Humor. She had me laughing out loud.

When the cooking lessons begin is when this book picks up and the fun starts. Rich’s first assignment is to fix grilled cheese sandwiches. Simple, right? Yeah, Rich thought so too when Becca explained it to him. Didn’t turn out that way, however, and that ends up being one of the best scenes in the book. There are several more that also made me laugh quite a bit. This is where I started to soften toward Rich.

Rich comes from a big Italian family, one he calls dysfunctional. But they don’t have a thing on Becca’s family. She left Philadelphia to get away from their influence, especially when it comes to her work. She’s an artist and she wants to make it on her own, not on the coattails of her doctor father or socialite mother. It’s interesting how Rich, growing up as he did, was actually coddled, so to speak, so that he didn’t learn the basics of keeping house; whereas Becca, coming from money, servants taking care of the home, and she’s the one who’s teaching him how to cook, clean, and do laundry.

First come an undeniable attraction between them, Rich really seeing Becca for the first time. The sex is great of course, and it’s Rich who says the L-word first. He’s straightforward with his feelings; one who knows what he wants and he goes for it. It’s Becca who’s the list maker, who has to think things over before making a decision, and who doesn’t believe love is for her. Their conflict stems from Rich wanting Becca to succeed, to get what she wants, though he goes about it the wrong way, and even Becca is a little guilty of that in her own right.

But as the two of them talk about a few times during their story, the make-up sex is great. I enjoyed their love scenes. They’re honest and fun as well as intense and fulfilling. The scene with the dining room table is one of the best and one of the most heart wrenching when all is said and done.

I got the feeling from things I came across this is not the first book about some of the characters I read about, and, sure enough, there’s two books prior to this one. I”m sure I even have one in the TBR pile. I’m going to be digging that one out and hunting down the other. Ms. Kaye’s characters are engaging and charming and I want to know more about them.

Loved it! This is my first Robin Kaye book (yes, this is part of series and I haven't read the first two) and can't wait to pick up another! This story was cute, funny and incredibly sexy!
Both Rich and Becca have issues. It's what make them who they are. Rich is an alpha male and Italian to boot. Becca is extremely wealthy and doesn't trust the male species not to just be after her money. So, when they find out that they both have to occupy the same apartment for a while, they have to come to some sort of truce.

Since Rich's girlfriend recently broke up with him, he solicits Becca to teach him to be more relationship material. He needs to learn to cook, clean and do laundry if he wants to settle down and convince his ex to come back to him. At first, Becca is more than happy to oblige just to get Rich out of her hair sooner. But, as she sees Rich trying so hard she begins to want him for herself. As for Rich, the more he tries to become a man ready to settle down, he figures out that it's not his ex that he's really after.

I literally laughed out loud multiple times while reading this book. Rich is hilarious in his determination to become what he calls a Domestic God. It's no wonder Becca eventually falls for him! She tried hard to continue to dislike him, but as he tries harder and harder to be a good man, Becca sees a different side of him. At the same time, Rich is seeing a different side of Becca that she keeps hidden from the rest of the world. It's obvious from the beginning that these two are going to hook up, but that didn't keep me from turning the pages as fast as I could. I wish I'd have had the time to read this in one sitting, but it only took me two days. I had it open in my hands at every available opportunity.

Kaye's ability to create characters is awesome. She made me want to know them! Rich's Aunt Rose was just a sideline, but she was interesting and funny. Vinny, another side character was also well developed and made me want to meet him. I really think that's why it was so easy to love the book and feel all the emotion just as though I was a part of it.

4 Richie stars!!

Overall, Breakfast in Bed is an easy read with light romantic and good humor. They have different personality than the previous book. I liked Becca's character which is independent and not-submissive. I'd love to recommend this and read Robin Kaye again ;)

I really enjoyed this light, sexy story. Becca Larsen has just moved to New York from Philly to try to launch her art career without family help. When she arrives at the apartment she has sublet from her brother and sister-in-law, she finds Rich Ronaldi already in residence. She can't stand the guy (her BFF and new SIL's brother no less), but boy is he hot! When Rich's girlfriend breaks up with him just as his boss is pressuring him to become more of a family man, he enlists Becca's help to become more domesticated in exchange for sharing the apartment. Then, their attraction for each other wins out over their animosity, but love is never easy! This book was fun and funny, although there were some tearful moments as well. I loved Rich and I really liked Becca's cat Tripod! Great book!

I loved the chemistry between the characters, but could a guy be SO dumb in a kitchen? Really? Couldn't brew a cup of coffee? never washed a dish? There are definitely things guys (or gals) who aren't "domesticated" can't do. I think the author could have dug a bit deeper for those things (the laundry situation was believable. Not being able to work a Mr. coffee pot? not so much.)
I'm also getting tired of the "insecure peeps/misunderstanding intentions" conflict. There are so many reasons to be in conflict with another. It would have made for a better story if there was more to the picture, or the actual offense was more egregious. Loved the Aunt Rose character. And could relate to much of this from my own Italian heritage. But these characters were more caricature than real, at least so far as the Italians in my life. (And I suppose that is the laughter-inducing intention.) Good for a beach read, which is where I read it.

Awesome...
I have to admitted, this book is more powerfull than the two last books. Even if im so inlove with the 2nd book, but... this is more sweetest... Oh, I love it.
The romance between Rich Ronaldi and Becca is written with very nice detail
It is so far away from the two last book
So far so great, and feel so entertained.
The commedy and the jokes when with the boys connected at one place (Rich, Nick, Mike, and Vinny)
I love the story when they all spend their time together, and help into each other...

well, this book is so entertained.
good choice to collected.

I hated the premise of this book - it was beyond stupid. The characters were caricatures, and it was basically the same recycled plot as other books in the series. Becca's pigheadedness was off-putting, like other "heroines" of Kaye's and it really lost me at "ugly flowers." What kind of bitch complains about her boyfriend bringing home UGLY flowers?!?!? Ugh.

Don't read this, unless you're desperate on an airplane, and you found this book abandoned by a previous reader.

Termasuk ketika Rich bilang “i love you” padanya.

“Trust and respect are more important than love in a relationship because no love will last without equal amounts of respect and trust.”

Re-reading this story many times, I'm always still amazed at how alike but how different these two characters are. Both feel they need to prove themselves worthy of what they have or want and they both have some big time issues to overcome, but honestly it was sweet the way they went from adversaries, to friends, to more. I enjoyed this one a whole lot.
