The dead are returning home, dropped off by a black spirit coach with a matching team of eight fire-snorting horses. Relatives panic as zombie-like loved ones show back up. Their graves were not disturbed, and no one can figure out where they came from.
Jax is forced back to the Island of Souls to meet Hel’s spawn—all one hundred of them. Amid ancient prophecies that the children have the power to save or destroy Earth, Jax must try and discover why Hel is murdering seers.
After vampires and werewolves head for the surface to prey on humans, all hell breaks loose in Bottom World. And then the unthinkable happens.
Circumventing Hel and death, itself, Jax must stop a spectral locomotive and steal one of its passengers—a dead passenger! When he does, he incurs the wrath of the ghoulish and tenacious conductor. “All aboard!”
