Dreamweaver

Rate this book
Against all odds, Weaver and his friends have found a way to stop the Dream Eater from laying waste to the Shield’s northern outpost. Despite the days of peace that follow, in his heart, Weaver’s certain that all is not well; that a destructive force, so great in its efficiency, could not have been silenced so easily. When the storm clouds, at last, begin to brew, and waves of chaos begin to break upon the Shield, Weaver and his friends are thrust into a plight unlike any they could’ve ever imagined.

NAJEEV NADARAJAH is a Tamil-Canadian author with a fondness for mischief and a remarkable talent for getting hopelessly lost in his own stories. He lives with his wife and is happily outnumbered by two wonderfully dorky daughters, equal parts chaos and inspiration. He is, by his own entirely confident estimation, the ninth reincarnation of the legendary sage Valmiki—pending official confirmation from the universe. He also shares his home with a psychotically unhinged stuffed bunny named Bunny, who is quite possibly the true mastermind behind it all.

Dreamweaver continues roughly two weeks from the end of Dream Caster. There's a continuous flow to the story so both books can almost be read as one.

Now, about the story itself. Dreamweaver was SPECTACULAR!
It was funny, it was suspenseful, it tugged and pulled you with a grave mystery (many of them) right until the final chapters. I remember thinking to myself, how is Nadarajah planning on solving all of this and wrapping it all up. But then he did, and the story fell into place, and I just sat there staring at the pages with a blank look and actually whispered "WOW" to myself. Would I give it 6 stars if I could? Yes, of course, and maybe perhaps even a 7th. Dreamweaver was that good.

I've been reviewing for a long time now, and I must say, Nadarajah is an excellent story teller. Perhaps one of the finest I've reviewed over the past few years, with potential to be one of the best in the Dystopian-Fantasy genre. That's a bold statement, but well deserving to say the least.

I received a copy of the eBook as an ARC in exchange for an honest review and i was thoroughly impressed and very very very glad to have read it. When this book comes out April 9th, I suggest people read this series!

I love the idea behind this series; the history, the villain and his motives. Its all really fascinating. But I found this book dragged a bit. I had a hard time finishing it. It wasnt as fast-paced as the first, and the climax wasnt as exciting as the battle at Glendon in the first. A lot of what happened in the middle with the hockey and Cringe didnt really interest me. And the traitor revealed at the end? I kinda knew since book 1. It seemed obvious to me.

I really want to learn more about the Dream Eater, and maybe even meet him. He totally fascinates me. Like Ra's al Ghul or the Shadows from Babylon 5. Villains that dont know they are villains. I'd love to learn how he thinks and more about his powers. I enjoy Weaver's character too, and I love underdogs or "zero to hero" stories, but Weaver hasnt really come into his own yet. His friends keep saying how awesome he is but I havent really seen evidence of it yet. I really hope he becomes awesome by the end of the series.

I'd like to thanks the author for letting me read the ARC to this novel.

I read and enjoyed Dream Caster and enjoyed Dreamweaver a lot as well.
The story carries on from the end of Dream Caster and tells of the adventures of Weaver and his friends. There's something about this book that makes you grow attached to the characters. There's a lot of them and they're interactions are so natural you forget that they're not real but fictional.

This book is filled with a lot of mysteries from the very beginning onwards. The author keeps you guessing at what's going to happen next and has the plot twisted into a huge pretzel before he unravels everything at the very end. The only thing I didn't like was that there were no romance, but i guess I can live with that for now. I hope something develops between a few of these characters.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book and the characters. I love how they all rallied around Weaver not only to keep him safe but to make sure he didn't try to run off without them. They are a strange but loyal bunch who even without reading book one I enjoyed getting to know them and what brought them together. They head on another adventure and stay strong and firm in their friendship above all. Great characters and story will keep you turning the page for more. Great Read!

I am a big fan of Najeev Raj Nadarajah`s fantasy series set in the ruins of Toronto in the 21st century. In the aftermath of the Cloaked War all that remains is a remnant of humanity struggling to survive. DreamWeaver is a roller-coaster ride of adventure and intrigue as the evil spellcaster - Dream Eater- furthers his plot to destroy humanity by ravaging the earth. In this sequel familiar characters return; Toggen, a strong, determined warrior sworn to protect Weaver, the young spell caster; Emma-Lee, a healer and her sister Karra-Lee, loyal in their strong support of the Dream caster. Add to these friendships, Minyun, Weaver`s loyal and habitually cheerful friend who adds a slice of humour when he teases the resolute and proud Toggen. As the plot thickens the Dream Eater`s spell to crush the Crow`s Nest has been thwarted temporarily but a dark mass of storm clouds surround it. Stir into this chaotic mix an uncontrollable virus which is stalking all those living under the protection of the Shield. Not only will the DreamWeaver have to overcome external challenges, and not succumb to the treachery of the Dream Eater who wants to capture and turn Weaver`s power to the dark side, but he also has to deal internally with the anger and hostility of Akeelu,a Director on the Council; a man who continually tries to undermine his efforts to save the community. Like Dream caster this book is alive with imaginative and destructive creatures like the firehounds, the chimera, the pseudo-clones and berserkers. One of the newest additions is Gargoyelle, a flying leopard-like creature that adopts Weaver after its parents are killed. This a story that you can`t put down and I`m honoured to have been allowed to preview the book before its release. Even the ending is unexpected and leaves you wondering what`s next. I thoroughly enjoyed Dream caster, but DreamWeaver is even better and I highly recommend it.

Dreamweaver follows the story a few weeks after the events of Dream Caster. The has a well designed plot, some suspense and lot of mind games to make thing interesting.
Few weeks after the events of Dream Caster as Shield is enjoying a relative peace and weaver is adjusting to his new life.Suddenly they get a threat form dream eater and things start to go wrong. As dream eater's complex plan is set in motion which leaves a mark on weaver too, weaver and his friends slowly unravel layer after layer of webs woven to destroy shield.
Having both the protagonist and antagonist both as extremely smart makes the novel suspense filled and pacy.
Some of the question are answered like who the dream guardian is?,what happened in the cloaked war?..
others are left unanswered

Dreamweaver is the sequel to Dream Caster. The story begins two weeks after Weaver and his friends Emma-Lee and Toggen defeat the attack upon the northern outpost.

At first, you wonder how Nadarajah plans on taking this story and expanding upon the world he's already created. But by chapter three I believe, the story explodes into absolute chaos.

From there onwards, Weaver's faced with one challenge after the next and the suspense keeps building. You grow to love the supporting cast and begin to really feel for all of them, especially Weaver.

There were a lot of funny moments as well, especially between Toggen and Minyun.

Nadarajah has a wild and vivid imagination and has the ability to control his story and bring it all together. This book is a gem and an excellent continuation of the first novel.

I really do hope Nadarajah finds the success his hard work and story-telling deserves. There's undeniable talent here and an even better story in the making.

Reading this book was a pleasure.

Plot: 5/5
Characters: 5/5
Imagery: 5/5
Suspense/Page Turner: 5/5
Cover: 4.5/5
Overall: 5/5

The author has a mastery of the english language. More than that the author has a very vivid imagination and is a fantastic storyteller.
Dreamweaver is so intricately woven that I blew my mind when the story came to an end.

Dreamweaver continues from the end of Dream Caster but in like 2 weeks or so. Everything after the 3rd chapter's a spoiler. So I can't say anymore about it.

The character development as well as the insertion of Minyun is very well done. I also enjoyed Captain Payne, Miko, Pancho, etc.
Btw, anyone else notice something about Miko and Pancho? are they just overly friend towards each other ?!?!? or is there something more to it

Overall, a FANTASTIC novel. I can't wait for book 3!

I just finished the ARC for Dreamweaver.
Let me take a breath first.
This book was AMAZING! This book was PHENOMENAL!! This book was MIND BLOWING !!!
If Dreamweaver doesn't take Najeev Raj Nadarajah to literary stardom, then I don't know what you fantasy/dystopian lovers are reading! That's how good this book is. It continues the story of Weaver and his friends at the Shield, and then it explodes into a thrill-ride bordering upon an epic tale in the making. Just so much happens all at once, and it's so well written that it's engaging and the story keeps you hooked from the very beginning.
The character development is incredible. You'll fall in love with Weaver, Emma-Lee, Toggen, Minyun, and a few others. I can't wait to see what book three will be like.

you know how the old adage goes: sequels are usually always never as good as the first book in the series.

Dreamweaver is an exception to that rule. This book was just outstanding and an absolute thriller till the very end. Weaver's character just keeps building and building, and you grow fond of the cast. I absolutely love Minyun in this story.

Nadarajah is an excellent story teller with an excellent imaginaiton. I wish him and this series nothing but the best and success. This truly is a story worth picking up!

First there was Dream Caster, a great start to a series. Then came Dreamweaver, and the series just exploded off the page. This story is a joy to read and a fun-filled ride from the very get go. I highly recommend people to read this series. It has great potential, a cast of wonderful characters, it's very well written, and the story is just spectacular. I wonder how much longer before this series gets discovered by the mass and becomes a mainstream read.
