Herbert W. Armstrong

118 books37 followers
Herbert W. Armstrong founded the Worldwide Church of God in the late 1930s, as well as Ambassador College (later Ambassador University) in 1946, and was an early pioneer of radio and tele-evangelism, originally taking to the airwaves in the 1930s from Eugene, Oregon. Armstrong preached an eclectic set of theological doctrines and teachings that he claimed came directly from the Bible. These theological doctrines and teachings have been referred to as Armstrongism. His teachings included the interpretation of biblical prophecy in light of British Israelism, and required observance of parts of the covenant Law including seventh-day Sabbath, dietary prohibitions, and the covenant law "Holy Days".

Armstrong proclaimed that behind world events during his lifespan loomed various Biblical prophecies, and that he was called by God as an 'Apostle' and end-time 'Elijah' to proclaim the Gospel of God's Kingdom to the World before the return of Jesus Christ. He also founded the Ambassador International Cultural Foundation, which promoted the arts, humanities, and humanitarian projects. Through his role with the foundation, Armstrong and his advisers met with heads of governments in various nations, for which he described himself as an "ambassador without portfolio for world peace."

Quick read - Biased view

The book indicates that the author is biased about his views about existence of matter and life. The book by itself, is very brief and vague on its proof against science.

Horrible book trying to prove the impossible: Does an invisible, silent deity exist? Armstrong attempts to use the sciences of the time, sketchy philosophical viewpoints, and poor biblical scholarship to prove that his god exists. But any true scholar, historian, or scientist can easily disprove any of Armstrong's shaky arguments in a short article.

A Powerful Argument for God's Existence

For anyone who has any doubt, Herbert W Armstrong lays out through plain, simple, and superior argument, that God truly exists.

What's more, you - bodily and in mind - are living proof of the Great Almighty LIVING GOD, creator of everything, seen and unseen.

Even if you accept science as one of the key mechanisms we humans come to an understanding of this world and universe, science does not, in and of itself prove there is no God.

The theory of evolution is like Swiss Cheese, with so many holes it begs the question how any intelligent thinking-person could come to see its validity.

Bur, Mr. Armstrong neatly explains this through the Bible, the only source of direct communication between God and the pinnacle of His creation - humankind. Romans 8:7-9 NKJV

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not bject to the law of God, nor indeed can be

Our government does not tell us everything

This was still one man's opinion What if there was an galaxy that put us here. Yes we can say that is the higher power that put us here. The government never tells us what is really going on. People can not handle the real truth
