A wild weekend in Key West with Team Arapaho is just what Navy SEAL Miguel "Coyote" Cruz needs after a tough mission. Cold beer and hot women. The last thing he expects is to meet a woman who singes his body with the slighted touch and stokes the fire in his guarded heart. Too bad she's determined not to fall for a military man.

Miguel "Coyote" Cruz is looking for a warm body and some hot sex to help him unwind from his latest mission. He's on the prowl, and literally runs into Cori Sutherland. She's not a fan of men in the military and the weekend 'hook-up', but there's something about Coyote that draws her to him...he is persistent and he's used to getting what he wants.
It didn't take long for these two to hop in the sack, but then again for Coyote, it's a race against the pager. Frankly, Cori needed a good slap upside the head with how rude she was to Coyote, and I was just the girl to do it, BUT...Coyote wanted her, so as long as this brave SEAL was happy, so was I. Not much of a story, Corie explains her indifference to military men, Coyote understands, he's not like that, they feel a spark...something more than just sex, the pager goes off...to be continued as they explore a relationship. Not really, their story doesn't continue, but we might come across them later on in the series. Which I might add, I will be continuing, lots of sexy SEALs to read about. Since each installment is written by a different author, I'm hoping the next one will have a little more depth. Then again, you have to read it for what it is, SEALs On Fire had Karla on fire!! Mission accomplished!
I was given this book from Manic Readers in exchange for an honest review. Full review will be on Storm Goddesses Reviews..
I will say that this is not my first Desiree Holt book and it certainly won't be the last. I love her writing, my biggest complaint is most of the stories that I have read are short..I would love to read more full length novels from her. This one is a great start to a series about men in the SEALS.. Coyote is on a break and goes out to a club to look for a "hook-up" for the weekend. He spills his drink on a woman named Cori, and is immediately determined to get her into his bed. Cori has been hurt in the past but ends up falling hard and fast for Coyote, and she isn't alone. Will they be able to commit to one another or will they part ways once the weekend is over? This is a quick read, but it doesn't lack in heat..I liked being introduced to some of the other SEAL men as well, and this series has great potential. I look forward to checking out future books, and possibly seeing Coyote and Cori again and getting an update on how they are doing.
I was really enjoying this one, it was hot insta-love with a Seal, then BANG the end. This sucker ended so abruptly I thought I was missing the rest of the book!
Is there a sequel, does he come back?? These are questions I need answered people!!!
3.25 RATING- Not much to work with because of page count but overall a sweet and sexy story about a SEAL on leave for the weekend...I have several of these short stories I picked up for free and plan on reading the rest.

If you are looking for a book that is hot and really gets into the story right away then this is just the book you should read. You have Miguel who is a seal and just wants to have a little fun while he is on leave. He just never knows when he will be called in for a mission. Cori is a woman that has been burned by a guy in the military before.
When these two meet it is like instant attraction. You get to see sparks fly really early in the story. If your looking for a book that really gets into a great story and gives you the in depth of everything then you don’t want to read this one. This is the kind of book that goes fast and gets to the ending even faster. Now it is a really hot read and if you like men in uniform then this is just for you.
This book is one that gives you one thing at the beginning but changes by the end. I like stories that makes the characters figure out that what they thought they wanted isn’t really what they thought. I have read many stories by this author and she never disappoints. She knows how to bring out the best in her characters that help you connect with them. The books will let you try something different and let you discover how to be in someone else’s shoes.
Miguel 'Coyote' Cruz is a member of a SEAL team on leave in Key West as Coyote Heat starts. He is looking for a good time on leave with a hot woman and a few beers but not commitment. Just as soon as he walks into the bar he bumps into Cori spilling her drink and the heat starts to simmer for these two. A man in the military before has hurt Cori in the past, so she is not looking for a relationship with another military guy. The chemistry works for both Cori and Coyote as the story quickly develops, after the pager he wears that can go off at any time; he knows he has limits on his free time before he will be called back on another mission. I loved that the relationship developed quickly with lots of hot chemistry between the main characters as they get to know each other. The pager goes off and what he does for her is so sweet that you just have to wish you could meet a guy as hot and sweet as this he-man with all the muscles can be. WOW!!!
Fun with a nice naughty romp between the sheets. Due to the length of these stories, the romance happens very quickly but such is life with a SEAL who can be recalled at any moment. For all that Coyote was looking for a straight-up sex weekend, he was very gentlemanly about it. Bonus: He recognized that what he had with Cori had the potential to be more than just hot sex. Double bonus: Cori learned that not all military men are a-holes.
I got this book as a free download and I really enjoyed it. It grabbed me right away, had interesting characters and plenty of steamy romance. My only negative remark would be that it was not longer. I did not want the story to end so quickly. Can't wait to read other works from the author. Loved it.
Desiree Holt is a personal favorite of mine, and this novella does not disappoint. I loved the plot and characters but (even though I knew this was a novella going in) the book was too short. A longer version, or a epilogue would be right up my alley. Still, was a quick and very enjoyable read.
I will start off by letting you know that this is a short story.. Like; around 60 something pages. For a short story, it held my attention and kept me interested! It had all the parts a story should have & didn’t feel rushed at all. The writing was on point and the story flowed effortlessly. Plus; it’s about a hot SEAL. What else could you ask for?! I mean REALLY PEOPLE!
Coyote – Lets first revel in the fact that this dude is named Coyote. While it might be a nickname; it doesn’t take away from the epic-ness that is his name. While on leave, he does what most men in his position would do.. He goes to a bar – solely for some beer and a quick hook up. Lets be honest, as a military man, you never know when work will call. So who has time for the long term? Especially after having been hurt in the past. & leave it up to him to completely dump his drink on a woman.
& leave it up to said woman, Cori, to be just the person he had in mind. You know, for that short term fling he was looking for. Genius that he is, or respectable as he is (your decision) he informs her that all he is looking for is a fling. Like most women, she heads in the opposite direction. The week they spend together is not only hot, but unforgettable. Leaving both with the thought that a week just isn’t enough time together… So where do they go from here?
Coyote Heat is full of hot, sexy & SEAL! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a hot, steamy romance, with a touch of SEAL and epic-ness!
Coyote Heat is a short novella with unexpected passion, lust and one kick in the gut for our love'em and leave'em SEAL when he meets the one woman who tucks at his heartstrings, something he was sure would never happen. I've loved Desiree Holt's writing for a while now, she's great a creating short erotic love stories that are both wicked hot and heartwarming. She's got talent in writing creative dialogue as well as real hot men!
Loved Coyote! Then again I do find SEALs very hot, so there you go - but I really enjoyed Coyote falling for Cori in a spectacular speed, that shocked him as well. I could have found it tacky, but it was just endearing watching him get sucker bunched by affection that way. ;) Cori had bit of spit fire in her which is why I think Coyote was so drawn to her, but she also had one failed attempt with a military man which caused her to suspect anything would come out of a night with Coyote, watching him break that assumption was yummy.
The romance between Coyote and Cori was a hot read! Holt sure knows how to write them! It started with a bit of spice, then bit of sweet and then a whole lot of hot! And ended with oh so sweetly... with a promise of more of the hot stuff. Perfect for a short 66 page erotic romance.
1st SEALS on FIRE series with each entry written by a different author. Really 2 1/2 stars. I expected better from Desiree Holt. Because it was so short I didn't get to know the characters at all. SEAL dudes sharing a Movie Star's home in Key West Florida while on Leave. Dude #1 Coyote spills a drink on Cori and she retaliates by dumping the remainder over his head. They change clothes and make up then decide to get jiggy basically an hour or so after they've met. Two night later they are declaring there is much more to this than a fling and want to see where it will go. He gets paged back to duty but leaves her with a stuffed animal and a promise to return. The End.
Love scenes were sexy and it was short so it kept my interest, I have the rest of the installments so I'll keep going.
I really wanted to like this story. I love men in uniform and a HOT SEAL only makes it better. It's a really short story and I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I found I just didn't care about them. I'm not really sure why.
There was one thing that happened that confused me in the beginning. Coyote spills a drink on Cori. She leaves the bar and he heads to the restroom to change shirts. When he comes back, Cori's back at the bar with fresh clothes on. I never did figure out where the new clothes for her came from so quickly. It was bizarre to me.
I'll check out the next one in the series. I'm hoping I like cuz I love me a man in uniform!
I totally got into the story. Coyote & Cori had a real good chemistry together. He liked her for her spitfire personality & she liked him for his upfront honesty. There were a few problems with spelling with an extra letter in most cases that changed the worked meaning to be used. As far as the story itself ok, in the bar when Cori changed clothes did she have some in the car or what? Because Coyote walks to the bathroom to change & Cori is back in a whole new outfit. The second issue just wish there was an epilogue it just spots. I was happy for the most part. But felt cheated too. Overall I recommend I did enjoy it but know it is a romantic erotica.
I like this one. I like this one a lot. In fact this book and Aiden's book are tied for my favorite as of right now. I have four more in this series to read. I like that Cori has a past, and it takes her a while to trust Coyote to even open up to him on a personal (rather than just sex) level. I like that Coyote, the alpha male who loves and leaves and doesn't seem to care too much about emotions is gobsmacked and hooked because Cori doesn't take any of his bologna. They communicate with each other, which is another aspect of their blossoming relationship that I like. This one cuts off short, but I didn't mind it as much. I want to know more about these two, as their chemistry is amazing.
This is a fast read, but very enjoyable! We are introduced to some of the members of SEAL Team Arapaho, who are on a weekend break (or until they are summoned back to base camp) between missions in Key West. Coyote knows he's only looking for some weekend fun... that is until he meets Cori and their chemistry is smoking hot! Even though they both want no-strings, temporary fun, they recognize that what is happening between them has potential for much more.
A fun read that ended a little too abruptly for me. I look forward to reading the rest of Team Arapaho stories.
I got this when it was a free read on amazon and LOVE IT! Then again I'm not sure Desiree can write a book that rates below a five. Coyote was just looking to blow off some steam and Cori was not looking at all. At first she blew him off but he knew what he wanted (which of course was Cori) he stated as much and was given a chance to be much more than either one could have imagined. You cant go wrong wwith one of her books.
A wild weekend in Key West with Team Arapaho is just what Navy SEAL Miguel "Coyote" Cruz needs after a tough mission. Cold beer and hot women. A hot Navy SEAL and a strong woman. Throw in some humor and steamy sex... Wowza!!! I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
I love stories that involves the military especially the SEALS. This was a quick smexy read. I liked the story and getting to know Coyote and Cori. I gave this story a rating of 3 because of the number of grammar errors and the abrupt ending.
Merged review:
This was a good quick story. My version was riddled with grammar issues that took away from the story.
This was a fun quick read, but it didn't grab me as much as the others did in this series. I haven't read the SEALs on Fire in order, and to my mind, you don't have to. I liked the characters and the situation, it just didn't drag me in as much as I thought it would. I will read more of Ms. Holt's work to get more of a sense of her writing than just this short story.
Was it just me, or did the heroine make a spectacularly bitchy overreaction when the hero accidentally spilled a drink on her? I wanted to enjoy this book because I think this author is very talented, but after that scene this book became an instant DNF for me. No rating because I didn't get very far into the book at all.
Great start to the short story erotic series. Really liked the characters and can't wait to read the rest.
***NOTE this is an Erotic Romance the book revolves around sex if that isn't what you are looking for then don't pick up this book. If you are looking so something short and NOT so sweet but very hot this is a great series.***
HOT, HOT & more hot... Can't wait to read the next one in this series "Seals on Fire" by 7 different authors. If the others are like this one they are going to be smoking... The only thing wrong with it is it's a Short Story and I'm not a big fan of short stories..
