Wrong Side of Town

“You don’t realize someone was missing from your life until the moment they enter it.”

Estella Markson is a good girl. She studies hard, stays out of trouble, and is struggling to hold together her family that is falling apart because of her alcoholic father.

Vincent Madden is the guy your mother warned you to stay away from. He doesn’t follow the rules, is in a notorious motorcycle gang, and doesn’t care if he breaks the law or someone’s bones.

After a chance encounter, Vincent starts to take an interest in the innocent girl who is so different to him. Despite Vincent’s infamous reputation, Estella is also intrigued by him. There is something about this bad boy that gives her an escape from her world of problems, and she can’t stay away.

Even as they struggle with the problems in their lives, Vincent and Estella soon find that trying to forget is easier with someone by your side.

Komal Kant is the international bestselling author of BENEATH HIM. She writes books about falling in love, books that make you laugh in awkward locales, and that one book where you bawled so hard that you loved and hated her equally.

Her days are filled with imaginary characters who speak to her in hushed tones before stealing her lunch money, a husband who accepts all her weird writer quirks, and a criminal mastermind Shih Tzu and lapdog American Bully—he’s the muscle.

Find her latest release THE JERK NEXT DOOR on Amazon. It’s a book about an irritating, Aussie neighbor, and features a cast of characters that are cracked.

Release date is October 25!! :)

As you guys already know, I don't rate my own books, but I like to fill up this space with things about the book. So, in keeping with tradition, here are a few things I can share with you about Wrong Side of Town.

1. Vincent Madden is hot
2. Estella Markson is broken
3. Vincent has three brothers
4. Estella is an Anglophile
5. Estella tutors a boy named Dylan
6. There is a scene where Vincent and Estella make out and Vincent's hands are covered in grease
7. Vincent participates in amateur fights
8. Hadie and Eddie will have brief appearances in this book
9. There will be a future book about Estella's younger sister, Savannah.
10. Vincent Madden is hot (because I just can't say it enough times)

"You are not going to walk away from me. You are not going to leave me. I know I'm messed up. I know I will never be what you deserve but, damnit, I'm sure as hell going to try every single day. I'm going to try my hardest, Estella, because without you, there's nothing."

This book started out nicely with shy, caring and gentle Estella meeting the handsome fighter Vincent whose brother founded the infamous Madden gang of which he is a member. Their decision to stay away from each other but failing to do so, is romantic. Vincent wants to get out from under his brother’s thumb, wants his little brother, Dylan, to have a good life away from crime, and he also wishes to become a better person that a girl like Estella deserves. But little does he know, Estella’s life is more twisted (screwed) than she lets on. Even her own siblings cannot comprehend the whole extent of her plight. But she feels for Vincent who makes her forget her horrible sick life. So far so good. At this point, I was prepping up for some heartbreaks, some kickass fight and some bittersweet reunion. Instead what I get is an anticlimactic, forced happy ending with the loose ends hastily tied up, as if the author herself got tired of the book halfway. In the process, she jumbles up some facts, like after hinting throughout the novel that Estella’s father is a sick pervert, she suddenly reveals that it is actually her cousin who abuses her. Strange! Moreover, the issue of the impending big fight between Vincent and the new fighter, who I am pretty sure is Estella’s brother Nate, is suddenly discarded. Why? Anyway, I am dissatisfied, disappointed and disgruntled. This book could have been a whole lot better.

I loved Vincent.
I loved Dylan.
I loved Three.
I loved Goat.
I loved Estelle.
I loved the way the writing just flowed.
I didn't love the way the book ended.

Just for that, I'd give 3.5 stars.

Okay first of all, this book was just great! I completely loved the first 80%?? of the book. I was grinning ear to ear - I was waiting for this book for ever! It was definitely worth the wait, didn't want it to finish! I was savoring every last detail of Wrong side of town and every delicious sexy moments of Vincent Madden. The author certainly knows how to keep us hanging on every word she wrote. It was mysterious and just so indulging, and pulled me right in.

At the start, I figured what was going to happen or was happening with Estelle but right near the end, i started questioning myself, there was some bits that confused me.

Don't read this if you don't want to find out what happens in the book because I will give it away.

Maybe my high expectations and the fact i was reading this late at night is affecting my judgement. The rating should be less than what i gave but the first half was really good. I probably am overrating this book but Vincent Madden is too hot to have it lower than a four. Sorry guys, don't judge me.

So many questions for what could of been one of my favourite books but everything was rushed in the last chapter which did nothing to help the story.

'There is a scene where Vincent and Estella make out and Vincent's hands are covered in grease'
This was not at all in the book! I was actually looking forward to this, so upsetting it wasn't.

THEY MAKE OUT LIKE ONCE OR TWICE. AND THAT'S AT THE MUCH DISLIKED ENDING.

But still, you are one sexy, brooding, alpha, hot, mouth watering bad boy.

Te Amo Vincent Madden.

Firstly, I did not realise there were two previous books in the series, but this could be read as a stand alone as there were only brief mentions of characters from the other books. It was a recommendation and I dove in as the blurb caught my attention and I really enjoyed it till about 85% then I got confused and panicked at how this was all going to be wrapped up....then felt it was an abrupt ending...surely not???? The meeting of Vincent and Stelle and their budding relationship was well done, although some physical contact somewhere would have been nice rather than all Vincent's angst with his feelings. What about Stelle's situation with her father???? How did this turn into Seth....did I miss something??? Ryder and the fight....I would've expected huge repercussions...so much emphasis was placed on that fight and he let Vincent walk away...what about the other gang??? Dylan...did they set up home with him??? Where is Savannah??? Love to hear how Goat and Three got on??? Even Ruby arriving and going....why??? There is no mention of a follow on book....but it truly needs something to tie up so many loose ends and sort out the confusion that is still running round me head....I invested an afternoon to this read and now I am seriously sat here at a loss!!! I would love to read more!!!!

I shouldn't have waited this long to read this book. I completely forgot the characters and the situations with left in the previous books. So in the beginning I was confused of who was Stella.

I wanted a easy and quick read and this fulfill that need. It's not the best book out there but it is entertained. A lot of drama, cliche and instalove. Not the best things in a book but somehow Komal Kant make it work. I knew picking up the book that I would have problems with it, so I was prepared for them. It deals with serious topics like family, friends and self esteem problems.

At the end a thing is reveal that got me unprepared.

I don't recommend this series to everyone but sometimes you need reads like this. Also is short and can be read in a day. If you're behind in your Reading Challenge this a good choice to keep up.

So, I loved this book just like the previous two.. I couldn't put it down and couldn't wait to find out what happened! Then I find out I'm 80 something % through the book and thought wait a second why is there so little left.

I really did enjoy getting wrapped up in the characters of this book but then it suddenly ended leaving a lot of loose ends for example, Ryder? I doubt he would of let Vincent walk away so easily especially as his character was built to not think much of women, Stelle's dad how did this turn in to her cousin? That got me way too confused and WHERE IS THE PHYSICAL CONTACT!! Haha I mean yes the budding friendship/love story was great but I mean they hardly even share a kiss?!

I give this book 3.5 stars.

Don't get me wrong I loved the book just hated the ending.

2.5.. Lately, most of the books I've read had a same problem, the author starts waving its story slowly, building relationship, friendship step by step, then, on the last 20- 30 pages, everything starts unavailing too fast without any sense and logic. I really don't know what to think about this book, but it did not leave me warm and fuzzy, nor satisfied at least.

Komal you did it again. I loved you first two books I totally love this one. I knew I would love Vincent since you showed me that picture of the model that inspired Vincent..Every step of the book where I read what he wear I swear I saw a picture of the model. Specially when you wrote he was wearing in denim jeans and denim shirt..I love Stelle story, how can a sweet girl like her be treated like that. I swear I thought it was someone else who was doing all that to her. I love all the guys from the Maddens gang specially three. Please Komal tell me you are writing a follow up to their story. I want to know if the gang is going to leave them alone, so they can for a family with dylan. That kid was adorable. Is the other gang going to let them be? Is the older brother going to leave Vincent alone? Are the brothers going to find love too? I really want to read more. Is Vincent going to do something to the person that hurt Stelle? Who did the brother get money to buy a new car? What happened to the dad? WE need WE need a follow up story..at least a Novel Ms.Kant. lol and Please never stop writing I love you writing and I love ya girl!!

I'm always attracted to the bad boy. Always. I loved how protective and caring Vince was for his younger brother Dylan. Especially the fact he wants Dylan to get a good education and not be in a gang like he is. I liked getting both Estella and Vince' s POVs. You know Vince really cares about Stella, he's just doing as his big brother instructs. Stella developed feelings for Dylan and Vince throughout the book as she tutors Dylan and you want them all together to find happiness.

The parts of the book you get are pretty good. There's just a lot of unanswered questions and some of the events in the book don't tie together very well. You get an epilogue but it's so short and such a tiny event. You're still left wondering what happened and how every one deals with Vince' s decision in the end since we know Ryder wasn't going to be happy. I mean leaving a gang is a big deal. What happened with Stella's family? Would have liked a peek down the road to see how well Dylan was doing. Just my opinions, read and see for yourself.

I didn't love it.

I felt like this story had so much potential, bad boy saved by a good girl. Unfortunately for me, the execution was just off. There was so much build up, almost too much. There was no real relationship that formed between Estella and Vincent until like 90% of the book. I wanted more between them and less tutoring. I wanted more background on certain aspects of relationships and characters. So many things needed fleshing out, it would have just added to the story. Nate and the money. Seth. Vincent and his brothers. The gang. But what really needed to be there was more between Vincent and Estella. There really was no conflict. No real drama. The story just went along until what seemed to be story time at the very end, and that was it. Very abrupt ending. With more work, the story could have been better.

This book had the potential to be so much more than it actually was. The blurb and the beginning of the book promised something that I don't think was delivered. When you deal with such serious issues as the ones that this book explored you got to fully explore it and deal with it not just brush over it. I think this book opened a can of worms that wasn't fully dealt with instead it was covered up with a quick ending. If the author had showed how Stella and Vincent used their love to overcome their problems and find who they really were this book could have been 4 or 5 stars. Also whoever the editor to this book is probably should have realized that it makes no sense to mention her father being a pervert the entire book then point the blame at her cousin. was it the father, the cousin or both and what happened to her brother.

2.5 stars. I really wanted to like this book - still wrestling on my rating. I was engaged in the beginning and the middle. Then I began to lose interest. I do like slow build relationships (tired of insta-love). At about 60%, I kept expecting something more too happen. While both appear to change for the better, I was detached and kept looking at the % complete saying "is this all there is? Surely this can't be near the end. It started good - what happened?" I finished the book, but it fell flat. The 1st book is about another character referenced in this book. So, maybe there is another book in the series(?) that will continue the H/h story. There is an epilogue, but only covers an issue resolution in the story (is not the future of the couple). This is pretty much standalone-no cliffhanger - but not a true full story IMO.

This book had so much potential. I really liked the story line. Vin & Stelle were great together. I would of love to read more about them actually being together as compared to them trying to figure everything out. I feel that there was so much left untold in this story. Plus the ending was a complete rush that it left too many unanswered questions. This book has the potential to be amazing but to much detail/story was left out.

I enjoyed it, but there was something missing.... Towards the end, there must have a been a deadline to meet and it read like it was quickly thrown together. All in all though, I did like the story. I would really like to see another couple of chapters in the ending with some more details.

Heart aching story! Stelle's pain didn't start where I thought it would and I don't feel like there was a clear understanding of how Vincent dealt with his older brother. Dylan was a breath of fresh air in this dark read. 3.5 for me really good story but not a light read by any means.

I know when I read Komal’s works of art that I need to schedule quality time to myself for the duration of the book. Wrong Side of Town was no exception; I lost interest in everything going on around me while I entered Estella & Vincent's world.
Vin is in a notorious gang. Everyone that sees his tattoos judges him before speaking to him. Not that some of that isn't warranted; he’s gotten his hands dirty with illegal activities.
When he meets Estella, he thinks she is too good to be true. He pushes her away, not wanting her in his world, without knowing she doesn't have the perfect life he perceives.
Wrong Side of Town is the 3rd book in the With Me series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but who likes just looking at one piece of a collection? I'm looking forward to the 5th book in the series that seems to spin-off from this book.

3.5 stars!

Finishing the book, and well, it entertained me a lot, I devoured it in a short time, but I was left owing the end, it jumps so fast from one thing to another that I feel like I'm missing something. I have loved having more moments as tender Vestella as the last but I want more.

The Storyline at the beginning was great, I love all the characters in this book, this book got me invested, but the ending... What was that?? it's like the author got tired of writing this book and didn't gave us a proper ending 😭
