Sara Cross never knew that her great-grandfather was still alive until an evil creature sent by his enemies burns down their house and sends her family to seek refuge at his estate on the shores of Lake Superior in northern Minnesota.
Arriving in the small, isolated town of Shadow Bluffs in the valley below his estate, they find that they have stepped into a strange world filled with magic wielders, shape changers, and the living dead. It is also home to the Moira Sisters, three dark wielders who want to use Sara and her family to steal from her great-grandfather a centuries-old chest containing a dangerous power.
Sara's family, already fragile after the disappearance of her father several years earlier, is brought to the breaking point as Sara, trying her best to hold her family together, sees them torn apart one-by-one by the strange creatures that inhabit the dangerous town.
When Sara learns that she too has an ability to wield magic, will it be enough combined with the developing talents of her two brothers to fight back against the Sisters? Can she rebuild what is left of her family and keep them together and, more importantly, alive?
I have two Young Explorers adventures, Inca Wraith and Phantom Express, as well as the first Grimm End novel in a series of five books.
Outside of writing, I have adventures with Kay, my wife and future author of her own books, my two wonderful daughters and their families including four grand-children and ten grand-kittens. I also let people know what is going on with my writing at stcameron.com.
Loved this story! Had me hooked from beginning to end as I followed along Sara and her family as they discovered secrets about a family they never knew they had as bad things began to happen to them. Sara discovers a truth about herself as well. The characters were well rounded and full of life or well most of them were anyhow (alive that is LOL).
I would first like to thank author, S.T. Cameron for sending me his book! S.T. Cameron will be one of my featured author’s of the month, so keep an eye out!!
Wow, is all I can say! I loved this book and read it so fast that I am ready for the second book! This story is about the Cross family. They do not know much about their family history, or so their mother tells them. Until something strange happens one night. An evil creature has been sent by one of their great-grandfather’s enemies to burn down their house, sending her family to seek refuge at his estate in Minnesota. Once they arrive in the small town, they find out that they have stepped into a completely different world full of magic, shape shifters and the living dead. The family is protecting something so powerful that three dark witches will do anything they can to get their hands on it. The Cross children find that they too have powers that they will need to use to win the fight against the magic the dark witches wield.
I would definitely suggest this book! Very well written, keeps you on the edge of your seat and you will not want to put this book down for five minutes without wondering, what is going to happen next?
This was a very good book to read it was entertaining at least. However I just felt that there was some laking in the character build. I was confused at times about certain characters and this made it difficult for me to really get into this book at first. All in all though after getting to the end I see the direction and the author does have a talent for telling an enjoyable story I just feel the characters needed to be better described. I do look forward to reading more from the author to see if things progress. thank you I got this book from bookbub.
Though I enjoyed the story I found the many editing issues distracting which kept pulling me from the story. Though this book isn't listed as being part of a series, it ended in such a way that it has to be. I will definitely be reading the next book to see how the Cross family survives in that little Minnesota town with all those shifters and witches. Hopefully the author will find someone to edit his next book before publication.
This book mostly had to do with shapeshifters, zombies, and magic users. It seems to be about this girl who comes to the town because of a crime her brother did, but there is no connection to the rest of the story, other then the cause of her death. There is this girl named Sara accused of everything bad that's happen to her family as it was because of Supernatural things were the cause of it. Just about everyone is not who they seem, like the cougar.
When I started reading this book I was not sure what to think. It was not the kind of book I normally read. I fell in love with the way the story came alive as I read and kept me glued to my iPad.
I was hooked on this story from beginning to end! I loved following Sara and her family as they discovered family secrets and mystery! its an absolute must read for anyone who likes mystery and suspense!
I liked Grimm End. It was an easy, enjoyable read. Wile the story it's self was good I found flaws that irritated me, but all in all it was enjoyable. Will I read the others? Maybe.
Grimm End was an interesting story about the Cross family. Sara Cross needs to save her family by finding a box that is thought to contain enormous power. I would like to read the next book in the series to find out what happens next. This book would be perfect for middle and high school students. The one thing that bothered me was how simple the writing was. I wanted more detail and a better flow. It definitely needed to be fleshed out more.
