Losing half a leg hasn't slowed down Aiden "Jonesin'" Jones. He can't deploy as a SEAL anymore, but that doesn't stop him from rising to the challenge of enjoying life as he always has. The one challenge left is to take a woman to bed. It's not his ability he questions, but his appeal. Can a woman overlook his damaged leg?
Marissa Nelson tends bar while working on her dissertation. Hooking up with customers isn't her style, but Aiden tempts her to break the rules. More than the sum of his parts, he's a man who can rock her world. But can she make him believe he's man enough?

4 Stars!! Very sweet story about a wounded warrior!!
On medical leave from a debilitating injury, Aidan "Jonesin'" Jones is with his team in Key West. Technically no longer a SEAL, they still consider him a comrade, their brother in arms, and invite him along on their weekend getaway. He's still in the Navy, and is contemplating what to do with the rest of his life. He was a medic and is thinking of becoming a Navy doctor. In the meantime, he wants to find a woman that can look past the loss of his leg, and hopes to get laid...plain and simple. Enter Marissa, sassy little bartender, she knows that Aidan is missing a limb, because she saw him trying to water-ski the day before. The fact that he's missing a leg, she could care less. They basically hook-up and play by Aidan's rules, lights out, under the covers. BUT, she wants to know the man, and in order to do that he has to trust her, that means turning on the lights, taking off the prosthesis, letting his guard down, and allowing Marissa to claim him, all of him!
I thought this was very well done. When Aidan tells Marissa about his injury and lets her see what is left of his leg, it was very touching. Even though my heart broke for him, his began to heal. I understand the nature of the series, quick couplings that lead to love, but this one had a serious side to it, and I appreciated the way the author portrayed Aidan. What I didn't like was the ending...or I should say...what ending? So, I'll say it again. My hope is that a final book will bring us up to speed on all the characters.
If you're looking for some sexy SEALs, who are looking for a good time, have at it. You won't get much more out of this series, but for what it is, it sure is fun...and HOT!
Another sweet short sexy read. Loved Aiden and Marissa however, with this one I would have liked alittle more insight into their future....did not feel as complete as the first two books in the series but still a fun read.
Really really short story! I was just getting into the story. Which is very hot and steamy and than it ends. I want to know if they get together for longer than 24 hours. I want to know what happens to them! Would be an excellent story line if it was longer! Needs to be LONNNNGGGER!
3.5 stars This has to be my favourite if the series so far. Crammed as much sex as u possibly can in one weekend! Where they go from here, is entirely up to the reader. There seemed to b more of a connection between these two characters, than in some of the other books.
Short and sweet. Feels surprisingly unrushed for the most part, considering it’s so very short (just 50 pages).
Main characters were cool— no alpholery from our retired-SEAL hero, and heroine acts like a normal contemporary woman. I liked them a lot. Hero lost part of one leg to an IED, and this is his first time back in the dating world after his recovery. I wouldn’t quite call him a “damaged hero,” but he is (understandably) a bit self-conscious about it, and that’s the main “conflict.” Heroine isn’t fazed by it at all; as far as she’s concerned, he’s smoking hot all over. Very quick hookup, but pretty believable overall.
Oh yeah, military-brat heroine is half Thai (no word on the other half, cough). It doesn’t inform the character— again, I kind of hesitate to tag this “IRR”— but hey, I'll take it.
Steam level about 3 out of five. Sex scenes were okay, but didn't really blow my socks off. And though they're vanilla, he spanks her at one point, which: you know that’s not my jam. (I first read this years ago, and I’d totally forgotten that scene. Clearly, my tolerance was a lot higher back then. Now it's basically zero, so this time around I skimmed/skipped it.) To be fair, it's not too bad. Just not my thing. Super quick, and nice enough if you’re into that.
This bok is different than the others. This story is about one of the SEALs who won't be going back out fighting after the loss of his leg. He still has much to deal with in what's happened to his leg. Anyhow, he's there with the other guys before they ship off and he finds someone. As with all of the books, there's a lot of hot sex, great characters but the story goes too fast. There's many mentions of SEALs but there are no missions other than getting laid with the possibility of forever.
A man with needs, a woman with desires, how can the result not be explosive?
Aiden ‘Jonesin’ Jones is a retired SEAL, who wishes he wasn’t. He’d love to still be working as a medic with the rest of his team; traveling the world, hunting down the bad guys and being the one to help his comrades when things went wrong. But that’s not his life anymore, not since he lost a leg. Now his days are considerably less exciting. One thing would help though, because although he’s rehabilitated enough to enjoy many things – including waterskiing – taking a woman to his bed is his final hurdle.
Marissa Nelson works in a bar to fund her studies. She’s little but feisty and runs the place with professionalism and aplomb. It is definitely not her style to pick up customers, but when she sees Aiden waterskiing and then propping up her bar later that day, she just can’t help or ignore the attraction she feels for him.
This is the first book I have read in the Seals on Fire series and I have to say it certainly shows promise. The book is hot and sensitive and kept my interest from the first page. I liked how Marissa just went for it. She saw Aiden, fancied the pants off of him and wasn’t afraid to step out of her comfort zone when she asked him back to her place.
Aiden was just adorable, and Mz Cayto handled his body image issues with great writing maturity. It was neither the main focus of the story, nor brushed aside. A well handled theme of overcoming serious injury and re-discovering sexuality. Marissa was perfect for Aiden, she had depth of character and was supportive and clearly didn’t have to fake any of her lusty desires, she was HOT for him.
Jonesin’ For Action is a character led story, not much else happens, but personally that is how I like my hot short stories. I really just want to know about the hero and heroine and imagine them riding off into the sunset together. I would certainly pick up another Samantha Cayto book and will be on the look out for more Seals on Fire.
Aidan Jones, nicknamed Jonesin', used to be a SEAL. He was wounded in battle and had to have one of his legs amputated right above the knee. He underwent months of physical therapy to regain the ability to do as much as he could. He can never be an active SEAL again and he misses it desperately. There's just one more thing he has to do...have sex. To prove to himself that he is still a man. He goes into a bar to try and find a woman to spend the night with. He wears shorts so that any woman he finds will know right away about his missing limb.
Marissa is a PhD student who works as a bartender to help with her bills. She's working the night he comes in. She had seen him earlier in the day when he was learning how to waterski with his friends and thought he was very attractive. She's not really the one night stand kind of girl but for him she's willing to make an exception. She propositions him and when he hesitates, she assumes it's because she's half Asian. He assures her that's not the case, it's because of his leg.
This was a short and sweet little story. Reading about Aidan's insecurities felt real. You could feel for him on all levels. This was the third installment of the series and I will read the rest of them. I wish there would have been more closure between the two. It's more of a happily ever after for now. It was a good read with lots of hot sex. My favorite quote was from Aidan.
"You're beautiful. I want to go down on you. Is that okay? Like a smart girl, she said yes.
I'm just lovin' these Seals on Fire novellas! Jonesin' for Action is another hit! I haven't read anything by Samantha Cayto before, but I did love her ability to take something as heavy as amputated ex-SEAL, a big bad navy SEAL and not have him wallow in what he can't do, but trying to see if he can have what he used to - and still make one very hot erotic romance!
I loved Jonesin', he was sexy in all the right ways, but I also loved the side of him that was afraid of a woman seeing his leg and the more tender side of him. I also loved how he was shocked himself how Marissa handled him and his insecurities. Talking of Marissa, a great emotional heroine, she was funny, sexy and sensitive, her brazen attitude made the chemistry between them sizzling!
The romance was all kinds of hot! After they got settled a little the sex was real sizzling, and this ex-SEAL sure likes to do a little spanking. ;) What I loved too was how these two met and begun falling for each other it was the sweet side to the hot desire that they had in the bedroom.
Aiden `Jonesin' Jones is dealing with recovering from losing his leg while on a mission in Jonesin' For Action. He is out of rehab and planning his future in the Navy but will never be a SEAL's guy again. He is out looking for a woman for the fist time since he lost his leg and finds the perfect woman to deal with his insecurities with wit, humor and a gentle tough love approach that is perfect to get him to relax into a budding relationship. Marissa is smart, sensitive and faces the problem with dignity; she is one intelligent woman and a good match for the wounded hero. Each of the SEAL series has featured a different member of the SEAL team by different authors and they have made a wonderful series that honors the brave men that serve our country. If you have not read them or missed one, find it and read it; they guys are sexy, the women they pick are smart and sexy and the chemistry in them is sizzling HOT!
Liked Jonesin' for Action just as much the second time I reread it!
Aidan is read to fly solo. Which is so new for him since he has always been a strong force on his team. Yet, when the wheels go up on this next mission Aiden won't be going up again. When he was hit by that IED struck his whole life changed. But, today was huge milestone for him. The team took him water skiing. To most that might not seem like a lot but Aidan is missing part of his leg. Now, he intends to see if his luck will hold out when he trys to score with the ladies like he use to before the injury. No wingman required, ego couldn't take it if shot down. So, first bar out , behind the bar is tiny, sweet, & beautiful Marissa. Will he score? This romantic erotica is such a sweet heartbreaker of a back story. Meaning behind the sex. I recommend this book.
#3 SEALs on Fire series (each written by a different author)
This one was a solid 3 with likable characters a bit more developed which is good considering it's a quick read.
Aidan Jones and his buddies are on R&R in Key West. Aidan, a medic is no longer active due to losing part of his leg in combat. He's pondering what he's going to do with his life but first and foremost he's ready to be with a woman again for the first time since losing his leg.
He meets Marissa, a grad-student/bartender and is attracted to her. The attraction between these tow felt real to me and had the ring of believability. Aidan's vulnerability about his prosthetic was endearing and didn't make him any less sexy.
This is the second SEALS on Fire story I've read (it's #3 in the order) and it appealed to me because Aiden was a disabled vet with a missing leg. I liked how Ms. Cayto grasped the emotional turmoil men go through, especially men used to saving the world and everyone around them, when they can no longer do that. Yes, we all know it's a myth - they can't save the world, but she captured his fears beautifully and it made me love the character even more. One common thread through these stories is the heart written into them along with the hot sex and action. Definitely worth reading, and good short reads for a lunch break or child's naptime.
Ooh. I liked this one. Aiden is a bit uncertain around Marissa because of his leg and it added a nice sense of vulnerability to him. Marissa was a pretty rockin' chick herself who readily accepted every part of Aiden and didn't let him get away with hiding part of himself from her. And the sex? Smokin'!
This is a short erotic story with a lot of emotional truths and moments of exactness that make it very special. The story centers around the first time a Navy SEAL who has lost in his leg has sex. The heroine is a PHd. student making her way through school bar tending. They are both smart and caring. The story feels true. It is erotic and very human. Good stuff. I would have been happy to read this as a full novella but was very happy with this quick read as well.
I didn't expect this book to be so good. I just wanted something easy (and short) to read, and then I found this. And I loved it :) It was heartwarming, mind-blowing story. I can't help myself I adore wounded heros, and Aiden was well wounded... I really liked the characters, the writing, it was exactly what I looked for. To summarise: it was a very well-written book :)
3.5 RATING- As soon as I read the blurb for this book, I skipped over book two in the series to start it. I love wounded warrior hero's! This was a short story, basically a snapshot into a weekend of an injured former Navy SEAL and the woman he meets that helps him get some of his confidence back. Not much to it at all but a quick, sweet read.
A good book in this series I really liked this short book, the hero is has a real problem to deal with a prosthetic leg and the heroine is one of the sweetest and helps him deal with it. Even though the story is really short, I was happy to read about this couple and think they have a real future, even though its only hinted at in the book.
Excellent writing, great characters (for as short as it was, she did a great job of fully developing them). But it was so short there was hardly room to develop a real conflict/tension, and I could have used a more conclusive ending. Left a little too open for interpretation. But overall, well done for how short it was.
So this is my favourite. It's a quick sexy book but Aiden is a ex seal discharged from active service because of injuries sustains in last mission. He has 1 leg and amputated below knee. I really liked that this was realistic. Aiden was very sensitive about his leg and marrisa seeing it. Good story. HEA
Quick steamy read. I was surprised to find myself a little teary eyed at Jones' nerves about his disability. I think the author handled it well, and it was overall a really cute read. I might go check out the others in this series.
Short erotic story period. Really good, short, erotic story. :) Would have loved for the story to continue on... hopefully there's a sequel/continuation in the works??? Would definitely read it if there was one, hint hint! :)
Sweet and sexy hot romance between a wounded SEAL warrior and the special woman he finds while looking for a one night stand in a bar. This is one of a series but can be read on its own. Actually I was hoping more of the other guys would show up but only a few of the books in this series do that.
I LOVED the fact that Jonesin had lost part of his leg and was learning to deal with that mentally and physically. I LOVED Marissa. Honestly, the whole thing was great and just long enough to leave me satisfied.
I liked pretty much everything except for the ending. It needs a better ending something longer that address the state of their relationship... But its still an okay read that I'd recommend to readers of the romance genre.
So far my favorite of the the SEAL's on Fire series. Aidan was the sweetheart women dream about in the "real world". Marissa was just as sweet but still a little sassy. This was a really short story but I would've liked it to be a little longer because I really enjoyed these 2 characters.
