What a fun game. It's a great way to move beyond simply defeating things that the GM throws at you. It's unique, and I like the guy who wrote the ashcan version a lot. Meguey Baker is amazing and really added so much to that ashcan. Thanks for not letting Psi*Run fade away!

Psi-Run is a very interesting example of a newish breed of RPG, such as Fiasco, meant to be played as a one-off. It's almost better described as a storytelling boardgame than as a proper RPG, although it possesses many characteristics of the latter. The players start the game as amnesiacs with psionic powers, on the run from Chasers controlled by the GM. The game is built around trying to stay ahead of the Chasers, while trying to answer questions about your character's past. While you may sketch out the initial details of your character, you'll really be cooperatively discovering her past alongside the other players.

The rules are very straightforward and accessible to beginners, while being powerful tools for guiding the shared narrative. Relevant examples abound and while the little talking heads might look like they're straight out of grade school primer on RPGs, they still accomplish their purpose.
