Another short read from Mahalia Levey. I just recently finished Shut Up and Kiss Me and moved directly to this one. There is a lot of information packed into this short book, but it still doesnt take away from the story. I enjoyed it as much as I would have enjoyed a 300 page book. There is a lot of tension between the main characters of the story...tension that keeps building up to the big O...og, and did I mention the main characters are not just a man and woman....but a woman & woman + a man....
This book is a paranormal erotic romance that happens to include a ménage e trios.
Amara is at the top of the food chain. She is strong minded shifter and takes no shit from anyone. The one person she will do anything for is taken from her and she is forced to lay low and obey what Gavin says in order to find her. This does not boast well for her, lol. Gavin is also very strong minded and they have always clashed. Neither one knows when to back down.
She found herself in a quandary, admitting she needed help, asking and accepting. Three things she hated to do. As a trained assassin, she learned to exist alone, not with a team. Yet, here she was in the tunnels, wading through raw sewage, surrounded by dirt and grime. Her dream didn’t do justice to her situation. Although her gut told her Mari still lived, experience in dealing with psychopaths told her time was running out.
She tries her best to avoid Gavin at all cost, but he is in her head.
If you mated, she’d be able to talk to you like me.—Gavin says this to her in her mind…see literally in her head!
She can’t deny the feelings that keep sneaking in. She shouldn’t feel anything at all for Gavin…
Used to soft arms and supple curves, she took a moment to admire the pure strength of him, refused to admit the charge of energy sparking between them as anything other than mutual respect.
Would leaning on his broad shoulders just for one single, solitary moment be considered weak?
….but while her mind says no…her body says yes….and not just her body, Mari’s body says yes too…..the attraction between the 3 of them is unmistakable.
This is the first ménage e trios book I have ever read. I have to say, I was scared at first. Firsts are always scary, lol. I found myself really enjoying this book. It’s steamy but also fun with some drama thrown in. I already like paranormal books; I already like erotic books why not mix it up a bit and add in some extras!

Amaranta is a Jaguar shifter and a Kamina assassin. Tough and beautiful, she has never felt herself lacking in confidence or ability, but when her lesbian lover Marisol is kidnapped by a serial killer with a score to settle, she finds herself in need of help.
Amaranta and Marisol have always been aware of the obvious admiration of their casual acquaintance Gavin, but in her time of crisis Amaranta is about to discover that Gavin is much more than he seems. Gavin is a Wolf Shifter and the Alpha of a strong pack and he has more than a mild interest in both women.
Amaranta needs his help, but finds her strong female personality at odds with his alpha male need to dominate. However, her Jaguar has other thoughts and wants to trust him without hesitation, not only wants to trust him but also just wants him in every sense. And, even when Marisol is returned, the three of them must remain together while the killer remains a threat, they can’t resist the pull of each other. All three form a love bond that is truly the central plot and purpose of this story.
I found that the serial killer plot was only a minor tool in the story to bring our central characters together in crisis mode. But the resolution was so fast and unremarkable, that I nearly missed it.
The true story is of the Love between Aramanta, Marisol and Gavin. The three form a true ménage in that they all love and desire the others equally. The immediate closeness and mate bond is a little over the top, but who cares? The sex is hot, if a little more graphic than my taste usually runs. The ménage was steamy and the women had an existing deep love that Gavin only enhanced with something they were missing (ha ha… I don’t just mean that!) A fine example of erotica!

Satin and Steel was a great short read for me. I love Erotica books that change it up from time to time M/F and F/F or M/M. In Satin and Steel we meet Amara and Marisol who are a couple that seem very happy together. That is until someone takes Marisol and Amara is forced to accept help from the last person she ever wanted to get help from. Gavin is the Alpha Wolf and lord knows those wolves do not take no for answer so when Gavin finds out Amara needs help he decides to help her. What they did not expect was to have feelings for one another. Amara is not sure what she is feeling but she does know that something is sparking between her and Gavin.
Amara does not trust people so it is hard for her Alpha Jaguar side to stand down to Gavin's Alpha wolf side. But Amara can't deny the fire that is burning for Gavin.She finds her feelings for Gavin confusing and she is not sure what to do. She knows that being with Marisol is not enough but is being with Gavin going to be enough for her? Will the three of them be able to share and live together?

Mahalia pens "Satin and Steel", a paranormal erotic romance in a unique plot filled with shape shifters, passion and humor all rolled up in one. Her characters were interesting, believable, likable and had fantastic chemistry between them. With all the drama going on in between some hot sex, I was totally engrossed in this book. A must read for all paranormal erotic romance fans.

I found this story gripping right from the start. I totally identified with Amara. Trusting isn't easy and excepting that you don't have to be in control all the time is harder. Facing the part of you that wants to give up control is the hardest yet. A great story, with really hot sex. I can't wait to read more. I would love to see another with these characters.

I have read other of Ms. Levey's books but this one was fantastic! The heat between the main characters, the development of their relationship and the relationship with her family all left me feeling as if I read a thoroughly well written book. I struggled a little with her name and the name if her gift, but not enough to prevent my enjoyment.
