Jeet Singh, the ruthless antihero of Mr. Pathak’s eponymous crime novels, is one of the most unforgettable characters in Indian hard boiled noir.

Lauded by fans for his taut realism, unapologetic amorality, and razor-sharp action style — Jeeta is adored by critics who turn each intoxicating exciting, exhilarative, stimulating, stirring and thrilling page with increasing urgency.

No doubt Mr. Pathak is a master of crime writing and his books are as influential as any in the genre.

Now coming back to the novel - we find that our protagonist the central character who is champion combatant and unromantic, Jeeta Singh, decides to go for the theft of rare coins.

Of course, given that this is Jeeta it cant be just a coin dealer.

It should be colossal, commodious, considerable copious, crowded and enormous and thus it should rather be the entire coin collector’s convention that gets heisted.

'Tees Lakh'is notable for a number of reasons.

Right from the start, the astute reader will realize that he is in for something a little different this time out.

What is most interesting about this book is the way Mr. Pathak actually begins to show that Jeeta is human and not machine, without contradicting the character he created in the previous books in the series.

An accelerated brisk, dashing, double electric, expeditious, flashing hair-trigger, hasty racing, rapid story to snatch your fancy fanticies.
