I love reading about other people with insomnia. Makes me feel like saying, "HA HA MOTHERFUCKERS."
Anyway, Stiles has insomnia and Derek sleeps over a lot. And then other stuff happens but WHO GIVES A SHIT THEY MAKE OUT.
Anyway, I read this twice and I really like it. Stiles isn't as funny as I prefer, but there is so much angsty goodness.
Anyway, there is some stuff that I probably would've understood more if I watched the show, but I don't think it inhibited my enjoyment.
Anyway....Read.

Lots of Derek and Stiles cuddles and not very much talking. It felt like nobody was communicating in this one. I get the title, I really do, I spent ages shouting at Stiles to just say something to his dad and Derek to just talk to Stiles. This is sweet but I found it a bit frustrating and a little anticlimactic tbh.

Action driven Sterek with Alpha pack clash, Peter being difficult, uneasy hunter issues and sweet falling in love. Oh yeah, 'Hey Dad, guess what?' moments to entertain and ahhhs.

Stiles suffers from insomnia, but he seems to be able to sleep on nights when a certain Alpha crawls through his window and snuggles beside him.
I’m a big fan of any Sterek plot that involves these two sleeping next to each other. I especially enjoy when it progresses slowly from we’re-barely-on-good-terms, to whoops-we’re-in-love. *sigh*
The setting is post season 2 canon and there is a decent big-bad plot -- with the evil Alpha pack causing havoc and pretty much asking for their asses to be whooped good and proper. The conflict scenes are pretty intense, and a little bit brutal, but that may be because most of them involve Stiles and Allison against enemy wolves, and it’s only right that I worry about our vulnerable human pack members more than the self-regenerating wolfy members.
I was particularly fond of the Sheriff’s role in this story. His characterization was believable. Stiles is his number one priority, but he’s fed up with all the constant elaborate lies and wants to know what he’s involved in. .
The whole feel of this fic was pretty dark and gloomy, but well written. It put me in a funky tense mood though, so I’ll have to rectify this with a major fluff read, stat!

Stiles and Derek hate each other, right? Stiles isn't sleeping, it is implied that Derek really isn't either. Until one night Derek hops through Stiles' window and with out preamble or discussion just share Stiles' bed for the night.
I like the Sterek's where Derek and Stiles start out not liking each other, having an adversarial / allied relationship like they do on the show, and this fic provides that with some angst and fairly IC depictions. It also has a nice tension building between Stiles and his father regarding all the lies and how their relationship is suffering due to Stiles covering for the pack all the time (and secretly letting Derek sleep in his bed so that he too can get some sleep).
Where it lost half a star from me was "post-culmination", once the Sheriff finds out about Derek and Stiles' arrangement and that werewolves exist, the fic lost some of its steam for me. At that point I felt Derek became OOC for me and even the Sheriff became overly parental for my tastes.

takes a while, and you can't tell me nothing about a teenage boy whose sex drive is lower than a nun's, but i got the biggest competency boner when stiles came into his own and started delegating like a boss.

Hmm, what to say about this Sterek. It was okay, but nothing mind-blowing. There were parts I didn’t really like.
In this one Stiles has insomnia.
This could have been great, but it never focusses on this. It just is. Stiles is tired, but can function fine apparently. I would have liked it if it was a bit more fleshed out. It is mentioned that he often doesn’t sleep for several days in a row, but that was it, too much tell and no show. It was confusing.
Stiles was not that authentic in this story. He wasn’t very funny and was mostly pretty depressed.
The romance was not very romantic. It starts with Derek sleeping in Stiles’ bed at night.
After several nights they kiss. And apparently from that moment they are officially dating. No real inner turmoil. No thoughts about how incredibly HOT Derek was or how Stiles wanted to do the naughty with him. Nope, nothing.
There is a tiny bit of sex at the end, but it wasn’t very good.

A Sterek fanfic set just after the end of season 2 of the show.
This is certainly much more the emo version of Stiles from the end of season 2 than in any other story I've yet read. But that just served to make Derek's influence on him--calming him down and helping him sleep--just that much more endearing.
I enjoyed how much Sheriff Stilinski is in this one. I'm always a sucker for those delightfully awkward introduce-the-werewolf-boyfriend-to-the-dad scenes, and the ones in this story were lovely.
I really liked getting to see Stiles deal with lying to his dad vs. sharing secrets that aren't really his to share. I loved how supportive Scott and Derek were in this whole process.
Nice story, very sweet.

There are no superpowers for the geeky, wrong-footed, awkward kid, no cape for the Robin. This isn't Harry Potter. Stiles won't ever be able to fix everything; it will all continue to be wrong.
But then, he's never turned into an animal, so he's got something on almost everyone else in his life at the moment.
"I mean, he died and then came back to life so obviously he's got a bit of a problem with letting things go."
"And the way you stretch, as if you think you can wake yourself up by making yourself bigger for a second."
Nice and weird, but more nice.

This is one for actual Teen Wolf(series) fans, I don't think it works reading it as semi-original.
There's some great moments between Derek and Stiles and I loved their unspoken need for each other and how it developed.
The plot has plenty of action to it but also falls into the giant bear trap (wolf-trap?) of fanfic by relying on you knowing the characters and cannon.
Too often I was wondering who people were and feeling the lack of descriptions, alphas? Peter was resurrected? how? what? true fans would already know, but I was left wondering.
Also I'm too old :( I know it's 'teen' wolf but the reminders of age and Stiles' interaction with his father - which was very well protrayed, kept reminding me how young he was, and how supplemental adults where and it kept putting me off.
I'm sure people who've watched the series will rate this a lot higher, but for me while there's plenty I liked, overall it's not quite there.

I have to say this blurb "That first time Stiles decided it was probably wise to let sleeping werewolves lie." in no way gives an idea what this is going to be revolving around.
I kind of thought, literally, that Stiles wakes up sleeping werewolf (Derek) and has to deal with the fall out or something along those lines. Anyone thinking the same thing.. You. Are...... WRONG.
Although sleeping is involved. Kind of a slow buildup involving Sterek (duh of course there's some action). Sleeping as resting, no sex.. well there's a bit but that's not an immediate thing in any way. We'll just start with sleeping in the same bed being able to rest and build on that....

A Teenwolf and Stiles/Derek fanfic.
And what a great one too!
My fave fanfics are always the ones that stay as close to the actual Teenwolf plot, well, added some Sterek awesomeness, of course, and this fic really does that.
The storylines revolve around the new Alpha pack and also Stiles trying to find his new place in the pack. For some reason he’s only calm when Derek is around and that leads to kissing, and later on awkward dinner dates including Papa Stilinski! (Honestly, even in fanfics Papa Stilinski wins everything!)
All in all this is a great fanfic, with a very true storyline, lots of angst but, of course, with lots of comfort too! ;)

3 stars I really liked this a lot. A tad slow but a nice slow and low burn. We only get one sexual scene of mutual blow jobs near the end but it feels right for them and where there are. Derek got real communicative real fast which was slightly OOC, but it was so nice that I can't be mad at him. The angst was more focused on Stiles's relationship with his Dad, but don't worry, it all works out.

Well deserving 4 stars. I loved the slow way in which Stiles and Derek became a couple. It also had the added bonus of having a good fleshed out story and action scenes happening around the main characters.
After all is said and done, the end of the story left me feeling tired, as it should after a prolonged fight and tensed period of continuous peril but also looking forward to the pair's future and confident they can make it work in the long run. Quite a good read.

This was a nice read.
Stiles and Derek seemed to move together seamlessly.
I liked Stiles feeling guilty about lying to his father, and his fathers reactions.
I liked them sleeping together, just as a cure to insomnia.

This was more Teen-wolfy than STEREK-y. It felt sad all around and even the relationship between stiles and Derek didn't seem very exciting to me. They were all so exhausted and sort of depressed that I became exhausted and sort of depressed as well. There were some tender moments but I was looking forward to finishing it.
