A solid Surender Mohan Pathak novel can be like good comfort food, with some unexpected spices at times. This too is one.
It is a pretty good sequel to Khota Sikka. Story continues at much the same pace with the same set of characters. Although the ending felt a little rushed. Also, there were a couple of too convenient co-incidences Otherwise the plot is taut and has many familiar tropes of a Surender Mohan Pathak novel with some unexpected spark too.
[Like here the character of Dilip Bhalekar (aka Bada Bataata), the chief henchman of the MP, who you may end up sympathizing with]
