3.5 Stars Ummm... Well I think I liked this book. I am not really sure but since I want to read the second in the three book series I am thinking I did. It is an interesting story. A few things are different than the normal vampire book but then again so many authors put their own spin on the breed.

I really liked Rad. He is really the hot vampire we all enjoy reading about. And Misty is written as a very strong woman who doesn't just crumple into her vampire to be protected. I was impressed with the independence of this character.

The running away/hunt pages went on too long. While I enjoyed the clever writing of how Misty stayed on the run I was bored with the chase after one chapter. Unfortunately it went on a lot longer than that.

The other problem was I expected the other two sisters to show up but they never did. As a matter of fact they were not even mentioned until the last page. Which is why I do want to know what happens to the sisters. And on a personal note I really dislike that the cover has triplets (the sisters are not) and that they look nothing like the character described but that is just my opinion.

A new and exciting twist to a vampire novel. Erotic..sexy vampires who makes you wish for one of your own. Rad is assigned by the vampire counsel to protect Misty who's blood has something extra special and appealing to vampires. Misty is of strong mind and won't just sit back and take it. Pursuit and intrigue makes these two characters were so perfectly. The ending prepares us for what I believe willnbe long lost sisters and maybe even a happily ever after for Alex? I strongly recommend for those who love paranormal romance and vampires.

Welcome to a new world of vampires, a mixture of new world and old, they blend in with humans, as they can be out in daylight, turn to dust when staked, and are trying to mainstream by drinking donated blood.

Rad is an enforcer he is a strong and powerful vampire, who is also rich, sexy as hell, and gorgeous ....... But also comes across as hard-faced and extremely confident in his total sexiness which is annoying at times.

Misty has special blood, it does something to vampires, so she will be hunted and drained if not protected - enter Rad.

When Misty feels she's being watched, she is not happy and starts noticing strange things. Then Rad makes himself known. I like how Misty accepts this not quite oh well here's my neck bite me. She tries to keep her distance, he tries to woo her, but she's having none of it.

We follow the same general book flow, shock, acceptance, attraction, shit I need to run, acceptance, danger, sex, more hot sex, danger, hot sex and of course the thing we all need a hea.

I really liked the character Misty a kick-ass heroine, rad was sex on legs and possessive, their relationship did develop but I didn't feel the depth I would have liked to.

The book ended with Alex going on a mission......ready for book 2.

I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you.

Let me start off saying I hate it when the synopsis on the back of the book is misleading. It's irritating. I went in thinking one thing to end up reading something completely different. The back makes you think she changes into a vampire upon learning that the exist. Her sisters play no role at all expect for in the epilogue when she finds out she was left at an orphanage with them. Why they put triplets on the cover I don't know.

This was a long read for 150 page book.

Rad is asked by the vampire council to watch over Misty and protect her. She has special blood, that makes vampires crave her. Rad develops feelings for Misty who is feeling trapped. When Rad has to go to Rome Misty makes a break for it. Although this part of the book takes many chapters it was interesting watching Misty invade and outsmart Rad.

This book was labeled erotica. It was very dry until 100 pages in.

Book 2 is Alex being sent to find one of her sisters. I have mixed feelings on reading anymore.

Really interesting tale that had my attention the whole time. The pace was wonderful and the characters engaging. Great dynamic in the relationship that made it very believable. Beautiful storytelling that entertained the whole time!

It had really great flow and did the job of making me think at times. I love a book that taps into my emotions. I am a real sucker for a sexy romance!! I laugh, I cry and I wish the hero were real so he could be mine! LOL

I would love to see more from this author! Definitely one to watch in the future.

To be frank, M. Garnet's writing style did not appeal to me.

The narrative style was remote and omniscient -- like reading a screenplay, which I'm not a fan of. As the reader, I spent much of the story floating above the characters, looking on, rather then getting into their heads. This made it difficult to really connect with the characters and the action. In the past, I've likened this style to watching a movie on mute -- sure, you can follow along with the story, but you can't really feel it.

What was really problematic for me, though, was the overall wordiness. Granted, they're really good words, but there was just too many of them. For example, the first few pages were overloaded with descriptions. Descriptions are nice, but the author exerted too much control over the imagery by providing every little detail. As I read the book, I chafed at the constriction. Especially since the choppy, staccato rhythm of the story was further bogged down by details that weren't strictly pertinent.

The writing loosened up a bit as the story found momentum, especially once some real dialogue began to show up. By the halfway point I was into it, but there were still some rough patches.

I hate to be all bad news, and there were things I liked about the book. Like the sex appeal, for one. Garnet did a lovely job of building up the tension and keeping it hot throughout the book. And Rad was a well-constructed character, one that really carried the story as far as I'm concerned. He totally has the BAMF thing going on, and that's always a good thing in my book.

So my ultimate opinion is that this book has good "bones" but needs polishing. It was intriguing enough that I'm curious about the second book, Minty, which comes out this February. But, please, more editing would be lovely.
