Orlando Winters is a Miami-based critic of all things, with a propensity for stream-of-consciousness ranting and irrelevant segues. That pretty much sums everything up nicely.

I received Stop Being a F***ing Idiot by Orlando Winters through Goodreads First Reads. The title caught my eye and I thought it would be good for a few laughs (and it is) but I didn’t anticipate that under all of the humor (which is directed at everyone and everything) there is some practical advice. A bit of common sense warning though; do not read this book if you are offended by cursing (which is obvious by the title that this book contains a lot of it) or if you over analyze everything! Orlando Winters jokes about himself as well as everything else imaginable and yes it can be a bit crude at times (but he let you know that was probable when he titled his book) but laughter is the key to happiness and using humor he gets his point across and delivers useful advice for bettering yourself. I really enjoyed this book.

Note: I received a free copy of this book from a Goodreads giveaway.

Enjoyable read if you can take this book in the spirit in which it was intended - a comical view of many common inane human behaviors. Appreciating this book likely requires an open mind or at least slightly-jaded view of humanity and would likely be poorly received by someone who takes the authors comments too seriously - clearly written to be humorous and not an in-depth analysis of human behavior (though I agree with many of the points made and would be interested in seeing these arguments fleshed out more fully). Arguably culturally biased, but still a quick, enjoyable, lighthearted read. Would make for some excellent stand-up comedy bits.

I received this book free from LibraryThing. The title caught my attention, but the content literally had me laughing out loud. I found myself reading segments, okay entire chapters, aloud to my husband because these are the 'not so common' common sense topics we ourselves have heated conversations over. If you are easily offended by vulgar language, this book probably won't be enjoyable to you, but as the author might say, "Stop being a f***ing prude"! I have a couple of close friends who could have written this book, both in referencing the language and the subject matter, but they didn't and Orlando Winters did! Excellent job and fantastic book! Now if I can keep my younger kids away from it for a couple of years yet....

The book had me at the title, I was completely sunk after reading the back, dedication, and introduction. After chapter one, I was in love. The author feels like someone I would sit down and have a long conversation with. I truly enjoy reading a book that makes you feel as if you are sitting down and having a dead-on conversation on all the little nuances and quirks of life. This is the kind of stuff me and my husband sit around and talk about around a bonfire. The idiotic antics of people in this day and age are a viable rant and the straight forward, blunt points impressed upon the reader of this book perfectly encompasses such beliefs. Awesome job, awesome book, and an awesomely honest author. Great job!

After receiving this book from the Goodreads Giveaway I couldn't help myself from reading it immediately. The book has found its way into a room where the short chapters can entertain myself and guests with cheeky humor while certain bodily functions are performed. Stop Being a F***ing Idiot really does make a pretty funny bathroom read.

I laughed really hard during the entire read. This book is an easy read with common sense insight and lots of humor. I have made it mandatory for my employees to purchase this book. I have offered to give each person who brings it to work to read an extended lunch break so that they can sit back, relax and enjoy this book. I have walked up to complete strangers on more than one occasion and used the recommended joke and now I just enjoy seeing who gets it and who doesnt. This butt kickin cowboy approves. I give it 8 seconds out of 8!!

Took this book to work with me the day after I received it in the mail from the goodreads giveaway. My co-worker thought it was hilarious. I did too. It covers all the basic reasons people idiots. Follow Winter's advice and never be an idiot again.

I was excited to read this book, but, part of the way through it, I realized that it was just going to annoy and disappoint me. It seemed like one of the author's main purposes was to insult and make fun of conservatives. Not my bag of tea.

Interesting but....

not something special. It is o.k. for everyone who wants to spend three hours reading something light. The book is hilarious and gives a straightforward political opinion.
