Megan has always known Jack isn’t a settling-down kind of guy. But when passion finally broke their control, she had expected more than a one-night stand. Now he’s back, melting her in all the right places and tempting her to forgive and forget.
For The Guy
Short, spicy and honest. That’s the way Jack takes his relationships. One rule and three excellent reasons to keeps his hands off his gorgeous next-door neighbour. One mistake, one night of uncontrollable passion, and his best intentions are ruined along with their friendship.
Next Door
"Megan’s alarm had gone off at six-thirty and, like an idiot, his body had immediately tuned in to the fact that she was waking up in bed less than two feet away from him. If not for a very flimsy wall, their headboards would be touching."

Ever have that been there done that feeling? Déjà vu. Yup, that’s what this book was to me. Don’t get me wrong. It was well written and had it’s little differences from books of the past, but it was predictable. Nothing left me on the edge of my seat. There just wasn’t that WOW factor I was looking for. Megan might have been Falling for the Guy Next Door, but it wasn't so easy for me.
“A larger, more sensible part understood that the tectonic plates of her world were shifting and that could lead to earthquakes. Earthquakes shattered walls.”
Megan is an author. She writes romance novels about a time long ago with dukes and lords. You get the picture. She’s been infatuated with Jack, the nephew of her next door neighbor, for about two years. A few months ago they had a one night stand. Turns out that wasn’t exactly what she was looking for. Now he’s back and her feelings haven’t changed, but man is she mad as hell about how he left things.
“I don’t write real life” Megan muttered. “I write fiction.” “ And in both, men are just as human as women. They hurt, they love, they get confused, they make mistakes, and sex is always the dark smudge left behind.”
What can I say? This was a quick read. I think I read it in less than a day actually. It’s fairly well paced, but there is just nothing that grabs you so that you don’t want to put it down. It just is.
It’s the basic boy meets girl. Boy is not serious. Girl gets attached. Sex happens. Boy leaves. Girl is crushed and then pissed. Boy realizes he’s stupid and being that he’s stupid he continues to do dumb things. I don’t want to ruin the ending for you but seeing as I said it was predictable, I’m sure you can figure it out.
“Jack wasn’t a fever. He was a disease. He was malaria, lying dormant inside her body.”
If you’re looking for something fast and you’ve exhausted your TBR list. I’d say check this book out. It won’t knock your socks off , but it will keep you entertained for a few hours.
Jack he's cocky, and sarcastic all the charms I like in a man, "maybe I had an itch for Cornish cream and scones." He folded his arms and lent a hip against the doorpost. "Why the twenty questions? Did you miss me?" He's a determined little s***, "when you're ready to tell me what you're so pi**ed off about, I'll be here." He rolled back his camera and glued his eyes to the lens. "This is far from over." He tends to get things that he wants, and I'm sure he's confusing the hell out of Megan, "we are not done. I taste it on your lips. I feel it in your body. I see it in the way you look at me. I read it all over your face." I liked the second book better in this series this one was just missing something and I'm not sure what it was.
2.5 stars. This book I believe was a waste of my time. This book was absolutely predictable. The flashbacks were very annoying and I don't think Megan knows how to act around boys let alone people. Jack I find utterly ridiculous, he compares his love life to his aunt leaving his uncle like COME ON! It would have been better if it ended with some kind of drama or something but not the I love you. When I read that I thought "Jack you should have just left" like jesus! You shouldn't waste your time with this crap that has the nerve to call itself a book.

I thot this book was a good read n a good story bt the only thing that put me off was the goin bak and forth between past n present it jst confused me a bit xxx
This was a cute and quick read! I really didn't know what to expect going in. I love the neighbor to lover storylines so I couldn't resist. I did get a nice little surprisingly good read here...
The story is about Megan and Jack. Megan lives in a split house with 21a belonging to her and 21b inherited by Jack after his uncle died. Jack is a photographer that travels the world and is not the settling down type. Megan is a romance writer that can only dream about that one prince charming coming along....
From the beginning, we see Jack come back to their town, Corkscrew Bay after spending one night with Megan several months ago. He had ran out on Megan and she was none to happy. She knew what kind of man Jack was but the abrupt way he RAN out on her was still a shock. So she is understandably still sore with him. He teases her and she wants to kill him but she also can not deny her true lust for the man.
Jack was a man that had lost his parents at a young age and was given to his uncle who was not really prepared to care for him. So he has spent most of his childhood in boarding schools. He is a man with some issues behind his past so it is hard for him to see his self settling down with Megan.
These two had a very good chemistry and some cute banter. They were extremely sexual attracted to each other and it was fun to watch them for a while. Until of course, they finally gave in to the attraction. They had a very hot hot scene on the beach. Very HOT indeed.
These two go back and forth through the story with conflicting emotions. Eventually, they do resolve their issues and there is a sweet HEA. I love how Jack came to her at the end and finally put his feelings out there.
Overall, very good and quick read. This is a great "in between" read because it is not a too complex storyline. Some but not a whole lot of angst, some steam, and a sweet HEA.
What do you do when the gorgeous guy next door has itchy feet and exits running super fast after the sizzling chemistry finally gets you together between the sheets?
When acclaimed photographer Jack returns to Corkscrew Bay, romance writer and homebody Megan finds it hard to forget her pain when, after their single night of passion, Jack ran like a startled rabbit!
But neither Megan nor Jack counted on the effects of a passion that wouldn't die and a friendship that kept on drawing them back together ...
FALLING FOR THE GUT NEXT DOOR is a contemporary romance that captures some of the intensity of Robyns' fantastic historical romances, while retaining the fun & flirty style that is the trademark of her contemporary romances.
Megan and Jack, though, are deeper and more wounded than Robyns' previous contemporary characters. Jack's desertion wounded Megan deeply, but no matter how hard she resists, the chemistry between them is too strong. It's only when she begins to realise how deeply his childhood has scarred him that she begins to love him again. The question is, can Jack ever stay?
Both the main and secondary characters are very real and appealing. Megan's desperate attempts to keep Jack's appeal at bay provide some good laughs, while her deeper emotions are those anyone who's felt unrequited love will recognise.
An entertaining and enjoyable read, a perfect end to a stressful day.
Although Falling for the Guy Next Door was written pretty well, I found myself not really clicking with the two main characters, Jack and Megan. I also found the story a little annoying with all the back and forth banter. One second Megan wants him, thirty seconds later she's walking away from him. Also, we find out that Jack is thirty-one, I believe. Thirty-one? I found that hard to believe with all the immature drama. I wasn't expecting the rich, lavish lifestyle they surround themselves with, but I guess it's popular to write about the rich and the beautiful. I guess I just didn't click with the story at all. It had its high points, but I still found myself unimpressed.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Megan is a romance writer who lives in a split house like a duplex. Her neighbor, Jack, is a wildlife and nature photographer. The chemistry between them is electric. But Jack is a wanderer and Megan is a hometown girl. Will they admit their feelings for one another or will Jack just keep leaving? They hooked up once but he left because he thought it was the best thing to do.
All in all, this was an enjoyable read. It was a little predictable but not bad. It is the first in a series about the residents of a small, coastal town in Cornwall. I am hoping to get the chance to read more about them.
I enjoyed this book a lot. It had two characters that were a little flawed in that they had had relationship problems from a one-night stand they had a while ago and were working it out. I had so much fun listening in on the heroine's thoughts and I loved all of the H/h banter and scenes together. It was a fun read and recommend it for a good time. I don't understand why the cover implied it was some sort of vampire romance though :P The cover should be different, not a weird shade of blue with the hero's eyes all evil.
Err.. This book drove me down right insane... The author kept going from his p.o.v to hers without any warning. :( This is the first book I have ever stopped reading in the middle because I was just to frustrated with the abrupt changing from him to her. I liked the story behind it but just couldn't get over it.. I'm sorry but only two stars from me.♥♥
A good spicy storyline here, but a bit confusing. There were quite a few jumps in time and it was difficult sometimes to figure out where you were in the timeline. I am a sucker for a good 'friends to more' story and this one hit the mark. While I did love Megan and Jack they were a bit inconsistent in words/actions. But for the most part, this was a fun quick read.
pretty good story...Jack and [mostly] Megan was driving me crazy (not necessarily in a bad way though) with their banter and Megan with her ability to make a complete fool out of her self when Jack's around.
sweet and cute and it was nice seeing the change in him
I tried to stick with it, but after making it half way through I had to abandon this book. I found it difficult to connect with the characters and by the half way point, the relationship (or lack thereof) was still confusing and lacking chemistry.
I liked reading it at least up until it went into a flashback right when something was about to happen. But other than that I loved the characters and how they each had a flaw and neither was perfect when dealing with their own inner thoughts and feelings.
When you fall for the guy next door, there is a lot of fighting the feelings from both people. It takes time and courage to tell him you love him and think he will walk away again. Love wins in the end. Great story.
A lovely way to spend Saturday morning. The sexual undercurrent between Jack and Megan sizzled throughout. At one point I wanted to knock their heads together and shout "get on with it!". But I love the way the story was wrapped up. I had my 'ah' moment. Got to love a happy ending. 4.5 stars
This is a quick, but good read. I liked the author's concept of "next door". Even though the story unfolds over two years, I never felt as though I were bored or struggling to keep up. I'll definitely read Claire Robyns' work again.
short and light read. Jack - Is a wildlife photographer, who has the constant need to travel and leave. Megan - Is a historical romance writer. ( I really wanted to read her book by the way) Who gives him a reason to stay.
Short story, the hero is such a commitment phobe because of his past. It was okay, slightly boring. I didn't like how it went from past to present and stuff like that.
