DEAR READER: "Take Off" is no longer available. "Hidden Talents: A deliciously twisted m/m trilogy" is the recently published, full series in one volume. See it on Goodreads here.

Relocating for caution's sake after the minor disaster in France, Jin and the Paris Talents try to get affairs in order. But are they ready for worlds to collide? Jin's teammates are on the way, and it might not be easy for everyone to get along...especially once it becomes clear that they have a special interest in Ken. Mark decides to take Sky under his wing, escorting him to ARSI to try and put his weird energy to a positive use. Can these two angsty bad boys find common ground? With his brother out of the picture, it looks like Ken will finally get some room to stretch out and act for himself. But he lands himself in a fight that tests his untrained Talent, and ends with an introduction to Jackson Gadamer. Ken doesn't trust the KGA Talents. And yet there's Jin, in his bed again..

I really liked what I read. I haven't read the other books, but I might check them out. Boys who have (Talents) precogs or empaths are part of two different groups. One boy is part of a leaders look into the future of owning his own group for his own agenda. Very interesting.
It's a shame that the stories are so short and end with you having to purchase the next one to find out whats going on....maybe not, if they are affordable.

I actually liked Mark being with Sky, I think they both needed that distraction. I'm actually pissed at Jackson, I feel like he is using Jin. I want Jin and Ken to be together. Can't wait for the next book.

Same review for all 4...

I am reviewing this AFTER having read through all the available series, #1-4. Initially the first one, honestly, gave me a headache. There was just so much information all at once. I felt like -- and still do-- I should make a character map with the people, their connections, and their Talents. There is a lot to capture your interest. There is just A LOT going on. Each of the characters has a Talent- they are empaths, pre-cognitive, telekinetic, etc. Then they can feel each other or block each other, they have old relationships and new interactions, there is a big agency trying to control them all, a main bad guy, and then we meet them individually along the way. I could tell after the first one there was a lot of potential, and I am glad I kept reading. By the fourth piece the writing is clearer, engaging, I am invested in the characters, and its funny at the same time.

I wouldn't recommend reading JUST the first piece. It will leave you wanting. But, if you want to get all four-- and hopefully there are more on the way, which it seems like according to the authors blog-- you will enjoy the adventure.

Look out for Sky-- the high class Rent Kid (basically), who can empathically give you what he is feeling, on top of what you are feeling-- if you get my drift. Genius! And Jin, the cocky mind-reader who partakes with Sky, but has a thing for Ken. And poor Ken, who I can not wait to see fulfilled (and I'll admit it-- naked with Jin). The evil-bitch female character is a little alarming, but written so well that you can't hold the fact that the only female character is totally crazy against the author. Overall, I was pissed when the fourth piece ended and I was left wanting... always a good sign.

OK, I'm going to stop reviewing these individually. This is patently one single story and trying to review each volume is starting to feel like I've stopped every 10 or so chapters to write a partial review. It's becoming ridiculous. You'll therefore find the same review for books 4-7 in the series.

I've now read up to book seven. Luckily, in the Note From the Author, at the end of Get Higher, she mentioned "two more books." So, at least I now know how much more to expect. I know I've harped on about it, but the fact that this story is broken up into (apparently) 9 separate volumes is one of only two real complaints with 'the series.' The second is how much history is glossed over, considering how important it is to the events of the book's present. This sadly includes a lot of the character development and worldbuilding. The reader really is left to just kind of catch up where they can as the events unwind.

I like those characters we get to know. (We don't get to know all of them, even when they play a significant role in things.) Jackson's decidedly Machiavellian plan is starting to come to fruition and it's interesting. The sex is often hot. I especially liked the way Jin all but worships Ken.

Pending the next two books come out soon enough that I even still remember that I read the first seven, I'll be finishing the series out. (Will probably still be grumbling about the serialisation though.) I've enjoyed the sarcasm and the narrative voice a lot. The writing and editing is pretty good (especially for freebies) and I like the gritty feel of it all.

Read the series in a day. Really liked it. I just wish they were longer.
