It's only a short chapbook, and you might roll your eyes thinking, 'romantic poetry happens all the time.' Well, THIS romantic poetry takes it to another level. As the title suggests there seems to be some kind of underlying pain, need and desperation to this love, which makes it a bit more complicated. Dockery's writing is absolutely beautiful, but grounded in images that are familiar and yet sensory at the same time. Her working of rhythm, and stanza structure is brilliant. Truly, I will be looking to her poetry as inspiration and guidance for how to write a good poem. I can't recommend this chapbook of her works enough.

Poems that ache and yearn. Rich in their delicately crafted descriptions. Amazing!
