New York Times bestseller Christina Dodd brings you her classic Western novella, WILD TEXAS ROSE, updated for your ebook reading pleasure.
“It’s our dance, Rose.” Seated in the old maid row at the country dance, Rose Laura Corey freezes at the sound of that familiar male voice … the voice of the man she once loved, the voice of the man she sent to prison.
Now orphaned and alone, Rose raises the finest horses in Presidio County, Texas. Someone is stealing those horses, and Thorn Maxwell’s return arouses her suspicions … and her long-simmering passions. Rose might be able to stop Thorn from stealing her horses, but can she keep him from stealing her heart?

Readers become writers, and Christina has always been a reader. Ultimately she discovered she liked to read romance best because the relationship between a man and a woman is always humorous. A woman wants world peace, a clean house, and a deep and meaningful relationship based on mutual understanding and love. A man wants a Craftsman router, undisputed control of the TV remote, and a red Corvette which will make his bald spot disappear. When Christina’s first daughter was born, she told her husband she was going to write a book. It was a good time to start a new career, because how much trouble could one little infant be? Ha! It took ten years, two children and three completed manuscripts before she was published. Now her suspense, paranormal, historical, and mystery novels have been translated into 30 languages and sold more than 15 million copies in print. Praised for her “brilliantly etched characters, polished writing, and unexpected flashes of sharp humor that are pure Dodd” (Booklist), her award-winning books have landed on numerous Best of the Year lists and, much to her mother's delight, Dodd was once a clue in the Los Angeles Times crossword puzzle. She lives with her family in the Pacific Northwest, where her 700 lavender plants share the yard with her husband’s various “Big Projects,” including a treehouse, zipline, and their very own Stonehenge. Her legions of fans know that when they pick up a Christina Dodd book, they'll find the story, "Wildly entertaining, wickedly witty!" Christina is married to a man with all his hair and no Corvette, but many Craftsman tools.
I love what Christina Dodd can do with a good plot line . I've never read a bad book from this author, but she out did herself with this story. The characters are amazingly full of life very authentic. The detail to the setting of the book was spot on. This was such a great read. BRAVO 👏👏BRAVO 👏
Super cute and short story about young love and the redemption of sins (of sorts). Rose is the spinster with a wild streak and too modern for her time, and Thorn is the problematic child turned good man with a gold heart.

Cute short story from Christina Dodd. I don't know how I missed this one. I liked these characters and the plot. Looking forward to reading more from this talented storyteller.
I generally find novellas feel like incomplete stories. This one was a good, quick read. But I never really felt invested in any of the characters. I have not read many books by this author, but this story was good enough that I am interested in checking out some of her full length novels.
I quite liked that one. It is a novella so not overly long but a decent afternoon read. It is not contemporary, so it gave the story a more authentic feel.
