Come with me through Isaiah

Rate this book
The book of Isaiah is the whole Bible in miniature. The first 39 chapters reflect the themes of the 39 books in the Old Testament and the last 27 chapters prefigure the events of the New, from John the Baptist to the new heaven and earth. Yet the prophet lived and died (horribly) centuries before Jesus was born. A miracle in words!

I wish like crazy I had discovered David Pawson years ago, but I guess--as the saying goes--when the student is ready the teacher will come. This is such a thorough and easily-understood study of Isaiah that the moment I finished the book, I turned around and started it again. Reading this is like sitting with your favorite uncle, who happens to be a brilliant bible scholar, as he discusses the book of Isaiah with you over a cup of tea. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to get deeper into the bible, and especially into Isaiah, which is a microcosm of the whole bible. I was delighted to discover that Pawson has written several studies on different books in the bible --they're all on my Amazon wish list now!

I am blessed to be able to read at work and I have done one chapter each night and have truly been blessed by this book. I don't believe I have ever gotten so much out of a Bible study book before.
Isaiah is like the whole Bible in one book. This pastor has done one on Revelations and that will be my next one. Understanding the history of the Old Testament is so important and sadly it isn't preached from very much. The Old Testament gives a much deeper meaning to the New Testament, to understand the teachings that Jesus had and used in his earthly ministry.
You will not be disappointed.

Great and needed read

Since Isaiah is a mini bible paraphrased in one, why not read it. Never not read the Bible because it’s to difficult. Meditate on the word of God and use the available books God has made available to us by great men of a God like David Pawson and the late Derek Prince

This book helps you take a deeper walk through the book of Isaiah and get a better understanding of what it says.
What I especially like about this author is that he adds nothing extra to what the Bible actually says but helps you understand what it meant in the time that it was written and how it could apply to believers today.

If you want a thorough study book on Isaiah this is it. It is a year long weekly study by a British Christian writer. He said it was timely and timeless, how true. We had an excellent leader and weekly zoom and small groups.

Wonderful book.

Wonderful book. He gives such great insights by weaving in historical facts to shear light on difficult to understand verses. I highly recommend this commentary.

Incredible book and even more of a guide. I learned so much and opened my eyes to so many things. I cannot wait to reread it again. There's nothing better than the book of Isaiah

In "Come with me through Isaiah" David Pawson walks us through the book of prophet Isaiah, which is one of the biggest books in the Bible. Reading David Pawson's book, I began to understand for the first time Isaiah's book, which includes a lot of history and yet to be fulfilled future events. There are places, kings, empires and events which readers need to know about in order to understand Isaiah. So be prepared for a lot of interesting reading - first chapter by chapter of Isaiah's book and then this book's explanation, as suggested by the author.

Even though I've read Isaiah before, up until reading David Pawson's book I knew only a few well known verses from chapter 53 and some others quoted in the New Testament. Now I began to see Isaiah's book as a whole text which makes God's plan and his character (of mercy and justice) more clear to me. It's also interesting for us to know that NT hearers knew Isaiah very well and each quote brought association with whole texts. So we need to understand the whole Bible.

I highly recommend this book.

I read the Kindle edition. ASIN: B004INHPIK

Excellent study of Isaiah. The book tells about God, Jerusalem and Israel's mission to the whole world. David Pawson taught these truths in an easy-to-understand manner.
