★★★★! London Lace, book 1-5 (complete series). Debut by Catou Martine. Enigmatic, bossy, mature and oh so sexy Sir Todd embarks on a no-strings-attached sexual affair that quickly becomes more complex.
This is a series consisting of 5 parts that combined make a 340 page read. I recommend reading as a set and thus I have reviewed as a set. Please note that the Omnibus has been released.
Hero: Sir Todd Montgomery/British/race horse breeder/aristocrat/40 years old approx./dark brown hair/blue eyes/6’1”
Heroine: Eliza Keating/British/Business owner (Candied Locks)-milliner/29 years old/dark brown hair/brown eyes
Story is told from Eliza’s POV (in 3rd person).
Eliza and Sir Todd are supposed to go on a blind date. Instead there first meeting is a disaster. After Eliza “tipsy calls” Todd in the middle of the night to tell him off he ends up stopping by for some hot sex. What starts off as great no-strings-attached sex quickly turns complicated. Todd’s and Eliza’s story ends up being bumpy one with anything from individual baggage to secrets, lies to vindictive exes and more. Add to that the tabloids trying to find a juicy story.
Sir Todd (well as it turns out Eliza is the only one allowed to call him Sir!) has many amazing qualities. At first glance is very handsome and sexy and he is great in bed; bossy and all about aiming to please. He is also enigmatic and brooding with darkness in his past. He is very mature, but above everything I love the way he always knows how to handle Eliza and he says the most profound and insightful things. And oh, did I mention he is Brit?!
Eliza is a “Rags to riches” story; coming from a poor upbringing and after making it as a milliner she has tried shut the door to her past. Career wise she has done really well for herself; she is strong determined and motivated. It’s evident early on that her unresolved past has plagued her relationships and they will play havoc on her and Sir Todd’s. Like so many heroines paired with great heroes, she managed to annoy me at times. This is very much her journey of self discovery and closure.
That said, for some reason I did not connect as well with Eliza as I might have wished. There was something about the 3rd person narrative that left me on the outside, wanting to connect better with her. I might have also wished to get Todd’s POV. I liked so many qualities in him, but I feel like I missed knowing him better.
The sex is off the charts:
And their sex becomes a bit explorative with them venturing out…
Catou Martine did a great job with Todd’s and Eliza’s story. Despite the drama and turmoil it ended up very much being a “feel good” read so I am recommending their story!

When Eliza makes the decision to go to Evergreen Downs to give Todd a chance to explain how he ended up in a posed picture in the tabloids with another woman. Along the trip she tries to get information out of his driver, Albert, but ever the loyal employee, he doesn’t divulge much and implores her to have this conversation with Todd.
Eliza tries to have these conversations with Todd, but he’s very adept at sidestepping them, brushing them away and sidetracking her. But she is just plain fed up with his refusal to answer the questions and not getting the answers anywhere else. She’s ready just to call it quits and gather her losses now.
We also get to see another side of Todd during this book and there is actually some story to this part of the serial series.

At the end of the second part of the series, I was disappointed at what was going with Todd and I felt like he was giving Eliza the runaround. However, I was glad that she got in the car to see him and hoped that things would get straightened out. It started really hot and heavy and I loved it! I did get upset when Todd wouldn't answer Eliza's questions right away but was satisfied that he did give her an answer. I believe that both Eliza and Todd deserve the best and wanted that for both of them. This part of the series just kept you guessing and on your toes. Can't wait for the next part to see what happens next!

Another Hot installment!
I was getting really upset for Eliza as Todd was being a Jerk in my book. He was not giving Eliza the whole story and things were not looking good in his favor. The more he evaded telling her the truth the more I was on board with her to just get away from him. He finally finally finally tells her whats going on. I'm still a bit miffed at him but we will see where this all goes. A couple of hot steamy sex scenes.
Good ending. You will still want more but you won't loose sleep.

Once again, I'll say I hate reviewing short stories, especially if its an ongoing series of them the story just isn't complete. I will say I am really liking this series. Suspense, angst, scorching scenes, and a sexy bad boy who has major secrets. In this installment he spilled some of them but I'm thinking that may have been just the tip of the ice berg. Can't wait for more from this series.

Wow! Things are becoming very interesting in this book! There is also the passion that is building up between Todd and Eliza. Eliza is starting to learn more about Todd as he is starting to open up more about his life. I can't stop reading now!

And the plot thickens..Although short this tale is no way short of romance and suspense. At times Todd gave drive a girl crazy waiting for answers but he can also be loving and kind. It's hard trying to figure out if poor Eliza will come out on top or end up broken.

The continuation of book 2 this sees a different side to Todd Montgomery and the local paper has caught him in his act whilst Eliza is left alone Todd is apparently fouling back home but the papers prove he is not

So Eliza wants Todd to answer some questions. But not before getting a few orgasms of course. He answers some questions and she gets annoyed (like I did while reading this) but this man can make her orgasm so let's forget about our questions and move on.
