I was hurtling across the ocean, a mile high, destination unknown. I'd brought a passport and nothing else.
He seemed determined to make everything in my life brand new. He revealed me, peeling back layer after layer until all that was left was my raw intimate core. Yet, I hardly knew him.
Crazy is a pretty good word for the kind of uncertainty that comes with a man like Tristan King. I never knew what the day would bring, but I began to expect surprises. That was the biggest problem. Managing my expectations with a man who'd told me I couldn't have any.
For a regular girl, falling for a man like him was taking a very big chance. Was it really possible to love one day at a time?
This is part of a series. Volume #1 of Year of the Billionaire is Knowing his Secret. This work is approximately 31,000 words. This is adult fiction with explicit sexual content.
Part 2 Taking his Risk, Year of the Billionaire series picks up where bk 1 leaves off. Which was a cliffhanger. Tristan and Raina are now on their way to an undisclosed destination for Raina. The story starts right off with them having very erotic sex on his private jet. Six hours later they arrive at Cap d Agde somewhere in France. I didn't like this resort or its theme. I don't think that's a place for children so that bother me a little. I am glad they settle on visiting the other beach. Tristan has taken Raina away to hide her from the people trying to kill her father. The storyline with Donald Harding, Raina's father and the Union was sometimes interesting. Bad rap for Unions though. Tristan will not admit he is in love with Raina but he really does show it. He makes sure her father an mother are safe and he gives her everything without her even asking. I love a man that anticipates his mates needs. WOW what a man. By the end of pt. 2 Raina is wanting more in there relationship. Taking His Risk is a easy but very erotic read. So be warned this story will having you raising your eyebrows. It flow fast and you do see the relationship between Tristan and Raina growing despite what Tristan thinks. Raina is a good character for him. But at times I felt she let him control to much of her life. I wish K.C. Falls had just written on book instead of dividing it up into 3 parts. I think the author can make more money this way at the same time its not fair to fans. I am glad all 3 parts are released so I can read them straight through.
I just can't take the dialogue anymore so I'm checking out and moving on to another book. I've never done his before but I've tried to give it a chance but I'm about to lose my mind!
The story of Tristain and Raina is entertaining but not deep. This is a good read if you want something easy and feel good without a lot of depth to the characters.
Finding it really annoying that it's a series of 3 books when all it's only one story. Only continuing to read this series because I'm stubborn & because I'm hoping one of the characters might die.
This book followed on exactly straight away from thge previous book, still enjoying the short novella and the story picks up a gear, we find out Tristians secrets and why he was troubled in the first book, Raina was still like an open book, still wanting a bit more commitment, but he was not opening up enough, this is where Raina's mother gets kidnapped, all thinking its to do with dad, when Tristian 's guys uncover areas which lead them to reveal the truth, Raina starts to see their relationship differently, even though you sort of get hints that Tristian starts to want more, but doesn't make it clear, we learn more about the reasons why he has become so guarded.
The smexy scenes are still hot hot hot!!!! Their chemistry doesn't faulter the kidnap although out their is still a small part of their story. Once mom is OK, Raina reels in her feelings, and trys to get on with her life, all the time your hoping that they'll both come to their senses.
Once again I like this book, of course Tristan is sexy as ever and I love them together as a couple, they get better and better each chapter that goes by. I like how he took her away, thought where he took her was not great, I thought it was weird how children were there to, yuck. I am so glad that they left before going to the other beach, I would have hated it if the author went forward and wrote about that. What happens in this book involving her family is crazy, wow, but I wasn't surprised that it made her think about what could happen if she went forward with this so called relationship with Tristan and she was realizing that what they had was not enough for her. Of course the sex scenes were hot as ever, can't wait to read the last book in this series.
I have to say I ended up skimming through the entire book in a few hours. Since the majority of it was about Tristan and Raina having sex I was bored. There was an event towards the very end of the book that finally continued on with the story.
I am torn now as to buying part 3 since I don't want to read another novella in a few hours about Tristan and Raina having sex.
But I am curious and do want to know the ending. If anyone has read this book and is willing to inbox me the ending I would so appreciate it.
I think I have to move onto something else.
At a moment or two I somehow thought this author was trying to imitate 50 Shades of Grey, but there's nothing that will ever come close to that.
Rain and Tristan were getting too involved. So Tristan decided it would be best to see each other at the theatre during rehearsals. Raina got the call that her father was in the hospital. He had been beaten up. So without word to anyone the next morning, she awoke and drove home to be with her parents. Jenna called to see if everything was okay. Tristan was searching for her. Surprise Tristan shows up. Once Raina's father is out of the hospital, he arranges for her parents to spend time at his cabin in Maine. The play is over so Tristan plans a small trip to surprise Raina. They are having a wonderful time then the call comes. Her mother has been kidnapped.
This installment was nothing but bliss - almost. There's a treat again Raina's family and it's not because of the union it's because of Tristan. Tristan opens up to Raina more and more but there is still the one rule that she seems not be able to get over. When Raina thinks about a future with Tristan is it what she can live with? We will have to read "Keeping his Promise" to find out how their story ends.

The second book picks up directly where the first left off. I personally love this because I know I didn't miss anything. Tristen is going to sweep Raina off her feet yet again. She is brought to new heights of ecstasy and her expectations are becoming more problematic for her. I again am so absorbed in the story and the way this one ends that I am going to purchase the third book as soon as I post this. Love these stories, I know you will too!
I read all three books in this series over the weekend and couldn't put them down.
This is definately a fantasy (like most)... middle-class, unknown girl meets rich billionaire, hot, guy.... but then, a really cool story.
Overall a this is a story about some self-discovery, mending of fences, and facing the unknown. The sex was hot and it didn't feel like you were reading the same events over an over.
It was a very easy read, and I recommend the entire series highly.
This three part book is exactly that it feels like one book split into three. The book is well written although be warned the sex scenes are explicit. I don't think of myself as prissy and generally don't mind explicit sex scenes in the right context of the story. This book was no different however I did find the use of language unnecessarily smutty. Without this I would have given the book a better rating but I felt that it detracted from the story. Still not a bad read.
This book was better then the second. I liked that the relationship between Tristan and Raina became more serious. I also liked the introduction of her family even with everything that happened. I also like that you got to know more abojt Tristan's body guard. I am annoyed by the "My Queen," "My King" language. I found it made sections of the book odd and like it was trying too hard to compete with 50 Shades of Grey.
The book is getting so exciting. Tristan is so sexy, but at the same time so secretive and vague. He's made a point to become very protective over Raina and her family. Things are heating up. After time away with Raina, his biggest fears come true. The secret, his biggest fear, may be inadvertently happening because of him again. Now on to book 3.
Book two of Raina and Tristan was just as great as the 1st book. The hot sex scenes were remarkable and you got to know Tristan better. K.C. Falls makes you feel like you are part of their story. Can't wait to read the 3rd book.
This series is entertaining, super hot, and fast paced. I like how Tristan is an alpha male that does not wimp out as the story continues. I recommend this to anyone looking for a couple hours of steam.
I'm still enjoying the series, and this book is as well-written as the first. I'm not too fond of a cliffhanger, unless some sort of resolution precedes it--but I have to admit that this one did what they are intended to do. Now I'm compelled to read the next book RIGHT NOW.
Part two of this book is great. The action in this book is phenomenal. I am glad that Raina has Tristan to help her and her family out. I can not wait until the next book to find out if the person responsible for the "incident" is a friend of the family.
Thankfully these are short stories. I am not really a fan of the way these people talk. I guess I could see Tristan talking like a snnob but I just can't imagine a middle class girl from Brooklyn speaking the way she does in this book.
If you're going to write a book, write a freakin book and not 3 novellas to equal one story. None of these books are stand alone. If your book was 300 pages and you needed a part 2 or 3 then whatever but to write a book that is 100pages or less makes me (the reader) feel very taken advantage of.
