Jerrick's job as a member of the Guard is to protect the humans that live in New York City from supernatural creatures that pose a threat, like the mindless vampires or the mangy werewolves. However, when he is appointed, by his father, to simply watch over the girl without knowing any facts or reasoning behind it, he gets a little irate. He is not supposed to have any contact with her. His only mission is to observe and protect from a distance. The girl is beautiful but has a temper that rivals his own. There is something off about her, but he doesn't know what. She seems normal, so why is he being put on babysitting duty of a human?
Kyra has always had an issue with her temper, this is not new news to her or anyone who knows her. When a blue eyed-silver haired stranger, along with his sister and best friend, saunter into the bar where she works, her interest is immediately piqued. Until she meets the rude -condescending- smart ass. He infuriates her like no other person on the planet, but damn, he's beautiful, in a slacker-leather wearing-rock band wanna be, way.
She discovers that he may hold the secrets to her sudden black outs, and when he does finally reveal what he knows, she finds herself wishing like hell she'd have never asked. Because her life had just been changed forever.

42 books58 followersHmmm so something interesting about myself eh? Well let's see. I live in small town Missouri and I grew up in an even smaller town. I am happily married with two sons. I am the eldest of three as well as the only girl. We are a very tight knit family and my brothers are my best friends. I believe friends are important in life and everyone needs at least one.
I have loved to write for as long as I can remember. I DO NOT write for the money. I write because so many authors over the years have taken me to so many wonderful places; from tropical islands, to swash buckling adventures; from the twisted mind of a psyco, to the magical world of witches, vampires and fairies. My wish is that I can create a world someone can get lost in, if only for just a few hours. I write all types of stories. Paranormal, murder mystery, pirate adventures, and westerns. Most will have some sort of romance in them, but that is usually not the main focus.
While writing is my passion, it is not my only one. I also make and decorate cakes, but my most important accomplishments in my life are my kids and my husband. Without them I would not be able to do what I love to do.

I fell immediately for these characters. The world Christine created is magical and unlike any other I have ever read. She weaves you into the story from the beginning and doesn't let you give up. You will want to know more and by the end you will be holding your breath. Fantastic read and great start to a series. I can't wait for book 2!

WOW!! I'm at a loss for words. Well, not really, but you know what I mean.
Meet Kyra. Just an ordinary 18 year old who has a job as a barista/waitress at a little coffee shop at the edge of Central Park in New York city. One day, in walks 3 people she doesn't know at all, but all 3 are stunning. Jerricka, aka Ericka, is an older teenager who is bubbly and sitting nicely with who appears to be her boyfriend, Ren, who is a natural flirt, with every thing in a skirt and Jerrick, obviously Ericka's brother who is moody, brooding and can barely look up from his phone, like he can't be bothered with the likes of Kyra. And that's just their first meeting.
Their lives get tangled in ways Kyra never dreamt of, because she doesn't realize, she's not what she appears to be. Far from ordinary, she finds herself deep in the middle of some serious trouble. She comes to some earth shattering realisations and finds out the 3 were sent to protect her. But from whom, who sent them, and from where is unbelievable!!!
This is a story about treachery, horror and love and shouldn't be missed. I can't wait to read the next installment, UnderSiege.
