The Telekommunist Manifesto

An excellent and short essay on a potential alternative to our current capitalism system. I have often gotten into discussions with capitalist friends of mine who have asked - essentially - "how else would you organize the economy?" This is how.

Kleiner doesn't need you to burn it down, he doesn't need a worker state to march through and confiscate homes and farms, and he doesn't need you to be hopeless or angry; he needs you to thoughtfully construct a new society within the walls of the old.

And he lays out how to do this: through a venture commune, adhering largely to the same ideas that venture capital does - while including land into the calculation.

The focus on intellectual property and the updating of the Communist Manifesto to be accessible and applicable to the technological age is VERY welcome, and has radicalized two close friends who are in the tech and devops world. I would definitely read this manifesto, but only if you are either:
1) Interested specifically in how producers of intellectual property should be treated through a leftist lens in the modern economy
2) Planning to start your own venture commune, leading us all into the revolutionary future of plenty (SIGN ME UP, PLEASE!)

Overall, an excellent read (if a little wonky). Would recommend.

To tackle the current scenario of Capitalism, finding out an economic model relating to the Commons in the society is an alternative option. Producers need to be in peers and should produce according to the needs of the society and manage the excess efficiently. This manifesto clearly keeps the explanations of all these in front of us. Owning the modes of production as a society is an alternative way to attack Capitalism.

"Proposing “venture communism” as a new model for workers’ self-organization, Kleiner spins Marx and Engels’ seminal Manifesto of the Communist Party into the age of the internet. As a peer-to-peer model, venture communism allocates capital that is critically needed to accomplish what capitalism cannot: the ongoing proliferation of free culture and free networks."
