Sometimes the only way for justice to prevail is to get a little Wicked...
People who call him know the deal. He'll solve their problems, but he'll do it his way. That's the only way Wick Templeton plays the game. His years on the force and connections to all types of specialists put him in a league of his own. That's how he intends to keep it.
An ex-boyfriend in need puts Wick on a path that crosses that of Ned Harris, a stranger who proves to be a worthy adversary.
Wick's simple agenda gets a little more complicated. Item Clear his ex's name. Item unmask the enigma that is Ned Harris.
It's a good agenda. Too bad Wick can't seem to stick to it.
An auspicious start showcasing out of commission former cop Wick, who now takes the odd jobs that are just a bit out of a PI’s repertoire, going just above and beyond to get things done!
Sharp and smart. I loved how Wick was unconventional in his investigations and sleuthing. He’s tough, experienced, and knows how to play with the big boys while keeping his hands “clean”. It seems he’s found a worthy adversary who just so happens to be an ally.
This has banter and an almost kiss with definitely a lot of potential to come! I look forward to more!
"Are you aware that you're a complete asshole?" Wick snorted, "Yes."
I was highly entertained by Wick in the previous Pulp Fiction books, but in his own book, I absolutely loved this smartass fucker. His wicked sense of humor truly won me over.
Wick Templeton a former cop, now a private investigator, thinks of himself as more of a problem solver for mundane issues needing his extra help. He lives for the more serious cases, that get his blood pumping. And at the moment, what could be better than helping an ex, under suspicion at his work place, and terrorizing the ex's colleagues after hours, whilst digging for information. Add in getting knocked out by a sexy man wielding a stapler. Who annoys the shit out of Wick every step of the way, yet he can't help his intense attraction for the pain in the ass.
I did enjoy this book, but I was left wanting so much more. I felt the story was too short and had some missing pieces that could have been added if the story was longer. I would have loved to see more from Ned and his interactions with Wick. But even saying that, I will definatly be reading the rest of Wicks books.
Mates don't miss out on these awesome Pulp Fiction reads xx
Not the best story I've ever read. The plot is a bit thin, and the editing is a bit poor, but what can I say; I like Wick's style. I'm am however glad I picked it up cheap as it is very short.
Part of the excellent Pulp Friction series , this is Wick Templetons, ex cop turned private eyes story. In this he's contacted by his ex lover and soon becomes embroiled in a case of insider trading during which he meets the enigmatic Ned Harris. There's attraction in this but no physical action between the two guys. The story ends on a sort of mild cliffhanger but its more a " we'll meet again" style ending so obviously it makes you want to pick up book two ( which I have already waiting in the wings ). As separate stories in the Pulp Friction series they all have their own charms and excitement levels. This was good but not quite as exciting ( yet ) as the other books Ive read but I think things are going to hot up soon. Wicks a dry character and I like that about him, he's the sort of guy you shouldn't really like but can't help Doing. I do love (how at some part in each authors contribution to the series on a whole) the characters from the other books either have a cameo appearance or do get involved in each others stories. Really clever and that's why I'll be collecting the whole series and keeping it! All short but packed well so no short changed feelings. Yeah, this has great possibilities... On now to see what happens next time Ned crosses Wicks path!
Another tale in the Pulp Friction series. Not quite up to the standard of the others unfortunately 3.5 stars
This book and its sequels features Wick Templeton, again a former cop who has started his own business. Wick deals with people's problems...in this story he helps an old flame who is being wrongly accused of giving out information to another firm, helping them to take part in insider trading. The start to this series is quite slow, so hopefully it'll speed up a little in the next book.
Also, I have to say that I got the impression that whoever typed (formatted) this book was either drunk or needs new glasses....not finishing sentences and starting new paragraphs with the word that should have finished the previous sentence...very strange indeed!!
Ye Gods, I am head over heels in love with the Pulp Fiction group of authors. I love everything they have done, Wicked Solutions is no exception. These are intense, taut, thrillers that push every button I have. Wick is an ex cop turned PI(it's already got me right there)investigating an ex lover Brad's job. Someone is trying to make him the fall guy in insider trading. What Wick finds, is Ned Harris, who won't identify himself, but attaches himself to Wick. Irritating, and intriguing, Wick can't get over him. Hope this means, Ned shows up in #2.
I am absolutely loving these Pulp Friction books from Havan Fellows, Laura Harner, T.A. Webb and Lee Brazil! Each author is bringing their A-game to these stories and it really shows.
I'd be lying if I didn't say that Wick Templeton completely made this story for me. I mean, it's his sarcastic and snarky brand of humor that made me adore him. He's a retired cop who's kind of a PI, but really he just does jobs for people. A type of odd job handyman, I suppose. Ned Harris we haven't got a clue who he is. He's not a cop, maybe a Fed, but we're left in the dark about his true identity. They bump into each other, literally, solving an insider trading case. I also like the subtle sexual tension the author included, but no sex, which just intensifies it.
Wick Templeton is a retired cop, doing PI work (with LOTS of dubious contacts!), and who gets called upon by an ex-boyfriend who is being set up as the fall-guy at work.
Wick is sharp, cynical, undoubtably clever, and in this (very) short story manages to solve the insider trading conspiracy going on. The writing is crisp, and manages to convey an awful lot of detail in such a short time - like the enigmatic Ned Harris who is (definitely) going to be the love-interest (eventually)!
Off to read the next one! BTW, this is one story in the "Pulp Friction" series of stories (with interconnecting links) which are proving to be very satisfying!
I hate the name "Ned." Wick I can ignore as an eccentric whatever, but Ned is intolerable.
There's not much here in this one. It's so brief that it was over before there was really much of anything. It's kind of interesting - maybe - but I'm still a little bit in shock over its brevity.
Mayhaps there will actually be some romance in the future...
Welcome to a delicious new addiction in the form of Wick Templeton. He's sexy, he's dangerous and he knows how to solve crimes - the Wicked Way. Don't miss this great start to a new addictive series. For my full review, visit http://wp.me/p220KL-1qJ
I love Wick. He tells it like it is and doesn’t care how it sounds. He marches to the beat of his own drummer and I loved it! Wicked Solutions by Havan Fellows is first in the Wicked’s Way serial. I am not usually a fan of serials but I must say I thoroughly enjoyed my introduction. As I was reading I kept picturing a P.I. from old movies only grittier and sexier in the form of one Wick Templeton. If you are expecting more than a vignette you will be disappointed. But the first story gives us a feel for Wick and I think a bit of what to expect in Wick’s and Ned’s game of cat and mouse. Ms. Fellows makes it obvious there is chemistry between Wick and Ned but how far will it go? Will Wick break his rules when it comes to Ned? Will he even see him again? All questions with no answers, at least currently. Normally that would annoy the crap out of me but Ms. Fellows gave this story a nice beginning, middle and end while leaving us panting for more. I enjoyed my entry into this world and look forward to a slow unveiling of days in the life of Wick.
I quite enjoyed it and would be interested in continuing the series, though there seemed to be a lot of missing back story. I don't really understand the whole Pulp fiction, four overlapping series thing but I simultaneously liked seeing the characters from Chances Are and Triple Threat here and am annoyed at the chaotic reading order it creates. But I liked the story.
2.5 stars--I'm not quite sure why this has as high a rating as it does. There was nothing to it. We got a quick feel for what Wick is like and met an ex. We were introduced to mystery man Ned, and the all of a sudden it was over. What's with that??
This part 1 of a series doesn't even give a good tease. New client turns out to be an ex. Chit-chat ensues, but no real plot gets underway nor an interesting character created. Guess I'll skip the four follow-up parts.
A very good start to the series. Short but contains enough to pull you into the story. I thought the author did a good job with the characters and leaving you wanting to read the next part.
I'm like a large mouth bass, on a bad day. I'm hooked!! Reads like a hard boiled PI nickel paperback from the 50's. in all the best possible ways. On to installment two.
