Cut two eyeholes into a bedsheet and BOO! You’ve got yourself a classic Halloween icon. But what does that ghosts look like when he's shy? Or in love? Or a pirate, a llama, a Bona villain, or Russian nesting doll? 100 Ghosts explores every sort of spook in a series of whimsically haunting illustrations. It's a delightful collection for adults, children, and anyone in need of a friendly fright.

From the minute I read the introduction I knew I'd enjoy this cute and quirky collection of ghosts:
"I used to be scared of ghosts, until one evening I walked into my kitchen and found a spooky little guy struggling to get the lid off a jar of pickles. That's when I realised that ghosts are just like us! They get nervous at parties, love pizza, and sometimes fall asleep during long meetings."
What's not to love about these little guys? Cute illustrations of ghostly fellows who are 'too short', 'eating spaghetti', 'nudist' or 'all up in your grill'. It's the perfect 'coffee table book' for giggles this Halloween.
This is a fun little book which pretty much is exactly what the title says it is. 100 cartoon images of harmless ghosts of various entertaining and humorous themes.
It is far from a challenging read but it does raise a smile and there are quite a few clever and creative ones dotted throughout the book. This is one of those books which you pick up from time to time for a few seconds of distraction or lend to friends to keep them entertained.
I will admit that I picked mine up second hand - something I try to do in general as it means I get to buy more books but I do sometimes think that paying full price might have put me off (although I respect authors have to eat too and I try and support my local independent booksellers when ever I am passing) just sometimes looking through second hand books can be really fun
All I can say about this book is that I just loved it and I will cherish it. The different ghost illustrations made me smile and the book cover is just beautiful. I bet I can open a random page whenever I am down and have a smile on my face because of how adorable this book is.
I got a copy of this from Quirk Books in exchange for an honest review. This is a very cute little book that is a fun and quick read. It would make a good gift or table top book for ghost lovers.
The book basically features a picture of a ghost on one page and then a description of the ghost on the adjoining page. For example there is an R2-D2 ghost, surprised ghost, pirate ghost etc.
There is a short foreword that is pretty funny about why the author decided to make this cute little guide to different types of ghost. The book is not at all scary but more cute and humorous.
The book is nicely put together with a cloth-like cover and nice thick paper. The drawings of the ghosts are funny and adorable. It is a very very quick read. It took me maybe 15 minutes tops to page through and read all the ghost types.
This is pretty much meant as a curiosity or gift. As mentioned above it is a fun book to set out on the coffee table so that guests can pick up something cute and funny to read. It’s also a good book to pick up at a party and say “Oh, look at this ghost, that’s so funny!”
Overall I enjoyed paging through this. There’s not a ton of content here just cute/funny pictures of ghosts. Some of the pictures are very ironic in nature. The book is appropriate for all ages and I know my son (6 years old) got a kick out of looking through it. Recommended to those who like ghost humor, or cute little tabletop types of books.
Well, this was apparently exactly what it said it was. Pictures of cutes ghosts… no story, no dialogue, nothing. Just pictures/drawings of cute little ghosts. Yes they were cute, but it was pointless.
A really cute and creative way to introduce different kind of ghosts 👻 😂 I had fun going through this one! It just has artworks of different ghosts and a short (mostly one word) description on them, so it's just a quick flip through.
My daughter and hubby surprised me with this book last year. My daughter found out about it and because she knows I love ghosts/ghost stories, and happened to be writing my own ghost hunter series at the time, she thought I would get a kick out of this book.
She was right.
I picked it up today. There wasn't much reading involved, but I loved turning the pages to find out what ghost was next. I loved them all, but some of my (most) faves were Classic, Homemade, Pac-Man and 8-Bit. They're especially cute!
This gorgeous hardcover book is an awesome, quirky gift for any ghost lovers out there.
How can something be creative and lazy at the same time? there’s no story there, not a fun nor emotional read, just hundreds of different ghosts drawings.
A few of the illustrations were questionable, to put it mildly, but overall this was an amusing and enjoyable five minutes. It’s obvious the author had tremendous fun with it, and Ghost #100 made me laugh out loud.
This is exactly what it sounds like! If you're here for a story you aren't gonna find it in this one, but if you're here for adorable ghosty art you've come to the right place. Very cute.
I am currently in a lot of pain, on a lot of painkillers and haven't been able to read as much as I'd like. Needed something silly while my brain is mashed potatoes. Cute and simple.
