As the youngest in the family growing up on a farm outside of Findlay, Ohio, Diane often acted out characters from her own stories in the backyard. In high school she was the student sitting in class with a novel hidden in front of her propped up textbook. Her passion for reading novels had to be put on hold during her college years at Ohio State University with working part-time on campus and being a full-time student. Before embarking on her writing career, she was a school teacher and play director.

Several non-fiction articles of Diane's have been published in Woman’s World Weekly, The Catholic Telegraph, Virtue, Down Syndrome Today, WritersWeekly.com, and several other publications. Her book, A CHRISTMAS GIFT, received 5 stars from the Midwest Book Review. Recently, Diane asked for her rights back for this heartwarming story and reissued it under the title, A GIFT FOREVER, and a new cover. She writes Amish fiction, contemporary romance, inspirational mainstream, chick-lit mystery, and non-fiction books. Her novels have received great reviews from readers and reviewers.

After watching the original movie, Cheaper by the Dozen, young Diane decided then and there, she someday wanted a large family. By the time she married Tom, the love of her life, she realized that maybe six children was a better number than twelve. She enjoys her life in southwestern Ohio with her husband, six children, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren. Life is never boring with two daughters, Sara and Amanda, born with Down syndrome living at home. Diane’s husband of thirty-nine years is very supportive of her writing career, as well as her awesome children.

This charming tale of second chances holds few surprises, but don’t let that put you off. Ms. Craver packs plenty of anticipation and emotional swings and round-a-bouts into this sweet romance that would give credit to a full length novel.

Discovering you’ve made a bad judgement that has your dreams crashing and burning is not an easy discovery to handle; but with the help and support of her long-time friend, and once hoped for future, Tyler Jordan, Jacqueline Andrews has some hard decisions to make and a lot of soul searching to work through.

This is not a simple story of friends to lovers to happy ever after; there is a need to forgive, understand past actions and come to terms with their consequences. Ms. Craver does not offer her readers a perfect heroine. Indeed, Jacqueline is a heroine most women can relate to. So full of future dreams she misses plenty of signals out there for her to spot is she only removed her rose coloured spectacles.

When Brad, the man she hopes to marry, fails to fulfill Jacqueline’s hopes and dreams she discovers his agenda is so far off beam from hers, her faith in her own judgement is once again sorely tested. Tyler, her friend let her down many years ago and now she’s back to square one, or is she…?

The hero, Tyler, has a mammoth task ahead of him if he’s going to persuade Jacqueline to believe in his feelings for her now. It is the way the author takes all her characters through the multi-faceted emotions in this story that make it such a charming read, and yes, I will use the word ‘cute’ to describe The Proposal.

The characters are believable, the plot may appear simple but is not, and the conclusion, though not unexpected, still creates a sigh of satisfaction at the end.

It was wonderful to read The Proposal by Diane Craver. This novella was a quick lighthearted read to remind you that life doesn't happen as you might be imaging. Jacqueline Andrews was so sure of Brad's love for her. However, Jacqueline still considered Tyler Jordan as her closest friend since they grew up together, but went their separate ways when he left town to attend college. Tyler returned to his home town to be a physician's assistant and with feelings for Jacqueline still. Can you picture the shock on Tyler's face when Jacqueline informed him she believed she would be receiving an engagement ring from Brad for her birthday? There are some unexpected twists and turns in this tale that is filled with regrets, forgiveness, hurt, love and second chances.

Diane Craver mastered a full story into this quick read. Will Jacqueline's brother, Alex, have a part in bringing about the right young man for her? I encourage readers to pick up a copy of The Proposal for a fun relaxing read. 5 stars for The Proposal. I appreciate how Diane weaved a true to life tale into a charming story.

Extremely quick read about a girl who thinks her long distance boyfriend is proposing. The entire time I thought she was crazy for thinking that was going to happen. I was right. She quickly moves on to her best friend and they start a life together the same day. It was hard to believe that someone so in love could jump around that quickly.

Wonderful short story, that could happen in any small town in the USA. One filled with love and wonder, of almost missing that chance but being lucky enough to be awarded that once in a life time love.
