One night, Little Pup went to bed early, being very excited to get to dreamland. There was just one problem. Little Pup couldn’t sleep.
Watch Little Pup find a way to dreamland in this charming, beautifully illustrated bedtime story. This book encourages the imagination and helps children get themselves to sleep.
I am a writer, illustrator, graphic designer and a mom. I've lived in various places across the country but currently my heart is in the Bay Area. I have two sweet children, two dogs and a mini-cactus named spike. In my free time (ha ha ha), I like to read books, jog slowly, cook badly and sleep rarely.
This is a lovely little book with adorable illustrations. It tell the story of Little Pup, who loves bedtime and sleeping and dreaming. But then they have a bout of insomnia. Despite offers of help, Little Pup is determined to get to sleep on their own. And they do!
Showing children that bedtime can be a lovely and happy time, it also empowers them to get themselves to sleep, which is something many children grapple with.
This book is good for night-time reading to your little one. The Little Pup series is fun, and will be enjoyed. The illustrations seem simple, but again the little ones enjoy them.
This is another great story from Mary Lee. The words are easy to follow and easy to read. The illustrations are lovely and make Little Pup adorable. Little Pup loves night time. He loves dream land. He put on jammies, brushed his teeth, got his snuggle story and he felt ready for dream land. One night, no sleep would come. He tried counting butterflies, nope. How about a cup of water, no thanks. Stretches, nope. Another story, no thanks. What did he do? How did he get to sleep? Read/listen is the best way to find out how Little Pup finally got to sleep.
"Sweet Dreams, Little Pup" by Mary Lee is written for the very young child, perhaps even pre-toddlers, as a bedtime story. The plot is very simple and well within the grasp of the very young. Little Pup has trouble getting to sleep. He wants very much to fall asleep, so he can have pleasant dreams!
I couldn't help but see a very strong corollary between Little Pup and your own Little Child, on those occasions when sleep just won't come, and at least one more bedtime story is required. This story may even have the power to induce yawning in the young ones, easing them away to sleepy land.
This is a cute story, not at all deep in plot or convoluted in any way. Just a simple, fun story your child (children) will love.
Here is a good little pup. Before going to bed he is doing what all children should do, in fact, what everybody should do. I won’t give away what it is, but I can tell you that you find it on page six. – “Sweet Dreams, Little Pup” is Mary Lee’s latest book. It is another jewel among the children books she has produced. The colors, the messages and the pictures are just beautiful. Paging through it you can feel that this book was produced by someone who can slip into the role of a child herself and then create something truly outstanding. The book is dedicated to Mary Lee’s son. What a lucky boy to have such a creative and intuitive mum.
With illustrations reminiscent of the classic book, 'Pokey Little Puppy', 'Sweet Dreams Little Pup' is an adorable bedtime story about a puppy who wants to get to dreamtime but is having a hard time falling asleep. He tries a number of tricks to try to drop off to sleep. A good opportunity for parents to ask their child what makes them sleepy, and develop some techniques for stress free bedtime. Aimed at the 6 and under set.
Sweet Dreams, Little Pup (A Little Pup Book) Colorful children's book about a pup who gets all ready for bed but has a hard time falling asleep. He tries many things....he imagines other places he'd travel to....other works by the author are highlighted at the end. Found text hard to read with dark background color.
Great picture book for reading to young children or to let young readers get practice. It is about going to sleep, so it makes a great bedtime story. It is the third book in the Little Pup series, but it can be read on its own.
Sweet Dreams, Little Pup has the cutest illustrations which reminded me a bit of the Hello Kitty style. This book is a great read aloud for children ages four to six and for the most part flows well. Ms. Lee has two other books containing this same cute pup, that are probably just as delightful.
One of the few stories that make the nightly rotation every time. Provides good examples of what to do to fall asleep all by yourself. Story is a great way to show children independence.
Adorable drawings and a cute story make for a great bedtime story. My daughter loved the pictures and I loved the hints of self motivated sleep routines.
It is a cute little book - one to share with children/grandchildren. the little illustrations are nice and it's easy to read. The book is a good addition to their children's library.
