Per my first graders: It was cute because it had a lot of happy parts. It was pretty because Mocha was cute in the book. I liked the story because it was beautiful and it was happy. It was cool because it was, like, the setting was Thanksgiving.

Welcome to the Puppy Place where every puppy finds a home!Charles and Lizzie Peterson love puppies. Their family fosters these young dogs, giving them love and proper care, until they can find the perfect forever home.Charles and his family are visiting relatives in the country when a stranger drops off a puppy. Mocha, a Bernese Mountain dog was running around on the highway without a leash or tags. The puppy was brown on top and white below half floppy ears also four big white stockinged paws and a blaze of white right down her face. The man that brought the puppy told the family the story it was like this I was working in the city today afterward, I'm on my way home at rush hour on a highway with four lanes of busy traffic next thing I know there's this tiny thing trotting across the road, ignoring all the cars and trucks whizzing by. How she managed to avoid getting flattened like a pancake I don't know. The family decided on calling her mocha because she's brown, white , and light brown too. The dog mocha in my opinion I believe she found her perfect and forever home now and I think that she loves her family so much.

My daughter read this book and she said she loved it! I really enjoyed the book as well. As an adult reading it, I wish there was more about the puppy since it is titled Mocha. But it didn't seem to bother my daughter that there wasn't a lot in the book about Mocha. She enjoyed the overall story. I'm giving it 5 stars because my daughter loved it. 😊

Charles and his older sister, Lizzie, are in elementary school. The Peterson family have a puppy named Buddy plus they foster dogs and help them find homes.

The Petersons are visiting relatives in the country for a few weeks to celebrate Thanksgiving. There is a knock on the door and a stranger has a puppy he had rescued from a highway. He leaves quickly, leaving the puppy, who they name Mocha. Mocha is taken to the vet to see if she's chipped and it's discovered she's not. Mocha is very friendly and loves everyone so it shouldn't be hard to find her the perfect home.

Though this book is a quick read and directed at elementary-aged children, I found it entertaining. There is a learning experience and a puppy tip at the end. It is written in third person perspective and first person from Mocha's point of view. It is the twenty-ninth in the Puppy Place series, which currently has 64 books in the series, and works as a stand alone.

I read this to my daughter at night while simultaneously reading “notes from underground,” by Dostoyevsky on my own time. The deep contrast between the two was unsettling to say the least. Mocha was slightly less advanced literature, but was beautiful in its own right. When my daughter and I found out mocha was named after a latte, I asked if she drank a mocha latte, would she be a Cannibal? I did not receive any laughter or the feed back I rightfully deserved for that comment -so I thought I’d share. Mocha found a loving home after a turmoil filled up bringing so I slept well knowing she was safe and loved. Great book, we ended up buying more books from this series and my daughter now says she wants all 80 books. So I’ll take that as a victory.

This was a nice instalment in this series. However, the person who brought the puppy to them was certainly odd. His character was a little ridiculous. So rushed and busy that he interrupts when people try to introduce themselves, yes with enough time on his hands to help his community with removing a fallen tree, friendly at the end of the book, yet weird enough to build a huge gate and have a recording of vicious dogs when people ring his bell. The other characters in the book were nice. It was a happy ending as usual.

This cute and adorable book is my favorite of the Puppy Place series so far. In this story, a dog named Mocha gets fostered by a nice family. I liked how the story was realistically told from the perspective one of the pet owners, but sometimes the doggy's thoughts are shared, too. This series good for kids who like animals and short books. Even though it's below my reading level (middle school), I had a lot of fun reading this story.

My kiddo is devouring like 4 or more of these Puppy Place books a week, so I had to grab one and see what the big deal was.

I totally see why now. You get insight into the family the books are about, and the descriptions of the dogs are heart warming. An extremely pleasant quick little read.

All of the Puppy Place books are adorable and engaging. My older two children read the book when they were in second grade, and I have been reading them at bedtime to my preschoolers. Highly recommend the entire series!

Finished reading this aloud to the kids today. A lot of them didn’t seem super invested or interested in the story.

Used it for reading comprehension and retention review for my third graders; cute book that they could all read in 1-2 weeks (or faster) and then have a group discussion on.
