Rate this book
America in the early 1940s is breaking free from the stranglehold of the Great Depression but a world wide war is looming on the horizon. In the rural community of Dancing Deer, people are worried but David Calhoun has his own problems. He hates the banker. His whole family hates the banker. So why does such a despicable man have such a wonderful daughter? David has to get a handle on his emotions but first he has other problems to conquer. Problems like getting through high school and eventually fighting the Germans in Europe. The banker's daughter told him to go win the war and she'd take care of everything at home.
