This was in my stack of parenting books that I never got read when my kids were young enough to benefit from them. I drew this one out of my TBR jar and decided to read it anyway and see if it would be worth passing on to another family. This is written from a Christian viewpoint and was very thorough. It touched on physical aspects as well as the emotional aspects of how we change and grow in adolescence. It would probably be considered a bit outdated for some, but I thought it was pretty well done and good for a child to read and use for discussions with a parent.
This book is based on the idea of trying to keep all the information a child needs in knowing how they came about and why they're changing, but in a christian themed way. It does have nice illustrations, but it just doesn't do enough to tell a child about the things happening in today's world. It might be a good book to begin the discussion with your child, but I think you'll need to go from there with more.
I really like this book for older kids, especially that it's Christian based and teaches the values as well as the physical aspects. I plan on using it with my 11 year old!
