“To remind you of the gulf that exists between us, my king.”
He takes a step closer. “It’s not working.”
They thought he'd have more time. Now Father is dead, and Lorial must take his place as the youngest king in Lostarien history while sinister forces threaten to tear his kingdom apart.
As Nestraya, Lorial's closest friend, mourns the loss of the man who was like a father to her, Lorial must convince her that Lostariel's only hope is for them to become more. That they're better together than they are apart. But Nestraya's wounded past is a chasm Lorial must cross before he can reach her heart.
Then, when a mission to stop a needless battle goes awry, Nestraya is left with a gut-wrenching join her heart to Lorial's or lose him, and the hope of Lostariel, forever.
Note from Lorial & Nestraya, a friends-to-lovers, forbidden-love story, is a full-length prequel novel to Elven Heartbound , the Kindle Vella sensation. This is a standalone novel meant to be enjoyed as a complete story all on its own, so there is no cliffhanger ending to worry about, though the epilogue does lead into the premise for Elven Heartbound. I'll see you in the heartlanding!
A fun sweet quick read that was a good relaxing book that I was looking for. I really loved the elves and the culture and aspects of the lore that held my attention and kept me invested throughout the story. I liked the romance, though I felt like the girl did a really quick switch in her feelings towards him. Like one minute she was repulsed by the idea of being with him and then the second she was kissing him and in love. But otherwise I found it fun and sweet.
Content: Kissing, touching, some suggestive comments, sharing a bed (between a marriage couple) the romance was clean, but it did sit at the line At least one minor curse word and then a start of the f word but it wasn’t finished
I love the characters in this as well as her Elven Heartbound story in Kindle Vella (for which this book is kind of a prequel). If you have not checked her out, you should. The characters are so well written, and the story itself is really well done. I can't wait to read more.
Romance, elves, magic, humor, and a happily ever after - it's all here! A PG-13 (very mild) romance with the quality of the story reminding me of other book favorites like 'Ella Enchanted', LoTR, Twilight (but much better than twilight lol). It's just so sweet and fun -while also tense and emotionally evocative.
From YA to old adult, there's so much to love in this book (and series). I found this author on kindle vella, and fell in love with her work. Vella ends up being very costly and unwieldy, and it's taken me $32 to read Elven Heart bound the first 5 seasons, an ongoing series . I wish it was a book series instead!!!!!!
Elizabeth Ash really shines in the novel format, and this book blows the Vella series out of the water imo in writing quality. I will be buying all of her actual books as they come out (there's only two other authors that I do this for, and one of them is Nora Roberts!)
This was adorable. It dragged a bit in the middle but overall a very enjoyable fantasy romance story. If you have read any of this author's Elven Heartbound serial and liked it you will probably like this as well. If I'm being honest I liked this better than the serial. It did however make me want to reread the first season or 2 of Elven Heartbound so that's a plus. I'm starting her published King's Road books next.
Storyline is lost with all the courtship of two main characters... definitely a ladies book, guys won't necessarily like it. I really disliked it. Wanted to see more of the story develop. I know, the story is about them, but boring after a bit. How many chapters can be written about them looking into each other's eyes...methhh
I read this as the ebook she sent out for joining her mailing list. I LOVED it, and I’m so happy she officially published it now. It’s beautifully written and the way she described things is lovely. Some plot points felt a little slow or disjointed for my personal tastes but over all I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.
I’m so very glad I got the opportunity to read Elizabeth Ash’s novel. One of the most beautiful books I’ve read all year. Lorial’s love for Nestraya is glorious and constant. His ability to say what she needs to hear is magical. A lovely, lyrical read.
The purest love, two people can share is what Nestraya and Lorial use to defeat their demons. They captured one another’s heart in a way that leaves the reader awe struck with wonder how two people gain strength, to become as one.
I started reading Elven Heartbound and decided to read this before I go any further. I absolutely love this story and it really brings to light things that happened before the main characters of Elven Heartbound were born.
The RayView:✨✨✨✨✨ The HeatRay: How It Be Spicin’?:🌶️🌶️ . I finally got a hot second to refresh my memory on where the story all began. 🥰 As always, Elizabeth Ash’s work is emotionally gut wrenching in all the best ways possible. I can’t wait for more of the heart landing to be released!
