A pleasant and easy to read novel, taking place in Berlin during the last decade of the existence of the Berlin wall. The intense, artistic and cultural trends, along with the vibrant nightlife of Berlin at the 80's, is described throughout the novel. Unique literalistic style, with laconic expressions and pauses that at first read seem odd but later on make the concept easier to be digested by the reader. Once one is fully acquainted with the writing style, cannot stop reading this book. The story described in the book seems as if it had some touches of personal experiences by the author himself; the latter off course is not verified at that point. Love for "life" outside the classic stereotypes and MUSTs for a young doctor, a psychiatrist; coming originally from Greece is evidently expressed in the story. Also "gambling" is one of the passions amongst others expressed in this novel. This book is very different from others mainly as far as the writing style is regarded and its definitely worth reading. Favorite word used extensively throughout the book: "Thrill". The way the novel ends is quite mysterious. It was the first time reading a book that I actually turned the page after having read the last page expecting that there were more to follow. There were not. Anticipation and thrill.for the other side.

VERY GOOD NARRATION OF HIS YEARS IN BERLIN WHERE HE USED TO DRIVE AROUND THE TOWN AS A PAINTER'S DRIVER. THE PRIVATE LANGUAGE WHICH CHARACTERIZES THE AUTHOR, IS VERY EFFECTIVE HERE.
DO READ HIS BOOK. A STROLL AROUND BERLIN IN THE 80'S.
