Delightful! Photographer Bob Walker and his artist wife Frances Mooney have produced a series of photographs with one word captions that admirably capture the nature of the cat concerned or the situation in which they are in.
For instance, 'incandescent' has a curious cat looking up into a desk light shade with the light on while 'sweet' has the most gorgeous cat just looking suitably impressed by being photographed. And just to prove that all cats can do that, 'angelic' has the subject looking just so!
And 'nosy' is exploring the Christmas decorations, 'troublemakers' are facing up to dog as though they could happily take it on, 'dreamy' has two identical cats (sisters/brothers?) looking as though they are in a daydream and 'secretive' shows a shy cat peeping through a window blind.
They are plenty more to drool over but my favourite is perhaps 'helpful' as it typifies the cat as he/she is, laying comfortably on they back of the person he lives with (I can't use owner for I am told cats don't have owners!) while that person is trying to do some painting of a skirting board!
It's a lovely book and also one for the miniature book collection.
