older but interesting information on how to read the Bible

An interesting read with a lot of information, but make the same mistakes of a lot of biblical studies by focusing too heavily on historico-critical methods at the expense of theological discussion. It's difficult to be hard on the author about this since that was part and parcel for studies at the time this was written.
