This is one of those books that's closer to a manual, it actually can come real handy when a person is about to go on a stargazing adventure.

This was an impulse choice from the library and, in the whole, it does what it says on the tin - stargazing for dummies - although sometimes it felt like stargazing for simpletons. I've always had an interest in astronomy without any practical ability - just annoyed I live in the burbs and suffer from light pollution. However, this book pointed out the obvious, that I should go somewhere dark, it could be only a short trip away - seems so obvious when you think about it. There was lots of advice on equipment, reference material and, above all, what you can see from the sun to the faint fuzzies. The latter half of the book was essentially a guide to all the constellations and, as such, a bit unreadable, but then this is more of a handbook than a textbook.

Very interesting and an easy read, although the numerous typos became a bit annoying.

Great for a complete newbie.

I just spent a lot of money on a telescope, damn covid impulse, so the question becomes what next. This book provides an easy entry into using the tool

Another good overview of astronomy, some editing oversights/typos, and Dummies books are apparently not meant to be read front to back (the repeated information in each chapter was annoying)

Very informative and great for a beginner. I love that it tells you what objects can be seen in what constellations and their general vicinity to help locate them.
