Vince has created an amazing book. Unlike other books of this type which are mostly fluff and has no actionable steps " The Millionaire dropout" has a lot of actionable steps. You can literally read it and start changing your life for the better. Here is a man who bought a Rolex not to show off but to pawn it if he ever fell back to bad times. He has made millions and along the way picked up valuable lessons which YOU can use. I like his down to earth style approach and his story. I learnt a lot of stuff and mainly one thing that I will never forget is putting your 100% into what you do, even if its data entry. Each chapter, each page has something invaluable that only comes from experience and he summarizes everything beautifully. From finding a life partner,to starting your own business there's a better way in which you can do things and Vince tells you exactly how to do that.

I received this free with a course I bought from Vince. It's a pretty good guide through the basics of personal development and setting up your own mail-order company. In my view it owes a great deal to the classic The Lazy Man's Way to Riches (my review of which is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...).

He doesn't go into affirmations in quite the level of depth required, but these days I guess you can look that kind of stuff upon the internet. He covers the basics of mail-order fairly well, but you really need to gain some in-depth training before embarking on these sorts of ventures. A cynic might say that this book is a basic level of product designed to get you into Vince's sales funnel so that he can then sell more information products to you. Just saying...

Self-help books are often filled with ways to 'empower' yourself, and similar advice that leaves the reader full of hope... for about 5 minutes before you forget what you've read and feel empty.

Not this book.

This is easy to read (but not patronising) and is laid out in sections that mean you can put it down and pick up again without feeling lost. There was the 80/20 rule here and how it will change your life. Yes, there's some maths and economics - but it's solid advice and well worth the read.
He also tells you how to save money and make the most of what you have.

Stanzione's background is interesting and inspiring, and this book just makes me admire him more.

Definitely recommend - great price too.

This book had so many good points. Be prepared to take notes! You could read this book from cover to cover, and start a basic business without ever stepping foot in a college. I think it is a very useful and interesting resource. It gives you all options, from free to expensive.

Blech. Started out pretty good, typical confidence builders and whatnot, but suddenly the book was teaching me how to run a mail order business. Not of interest. Won't be finishing this one.

*Blinkist*

“The truth is that most people live in their comfort zones. They regard it as both acceptable and normal because they’ve given up on their old dreams. They’ve lost all hope of doing something dazzling and achieving fame and fortune – in other words, they’ve come to terms with the fact that their highest priority is simply getting by. It was this which moved Benjamin Franklin to remark that “most men die at 25, we just don’t bury them until they’re 70.””

This book/Blink gets a middling score because I just was not sold on the “just think positively and visualize your success” advice since more often than not it’s just an easy thing people can do instead of any of the actual hard work to achieve success.

I did appreciate the ideas for setting goals and starting an entrepreneurial side business, though:

“Grab a pen and write down these headings: financial needs like bills that need paying, financial wants like that gold Rolex you’ve always dreamed of having and non-monetary aspirations like becoming a better public speaker. Now put your answers into sentences like these: “My personal goal is…,” “I will benefit from this because…” and “My projected goal will be achieved by...””

“This works best if your targets are positive, so, “I want a $750,000 townhouse” rather than “I need to get out of this terrible apartment,” for example. You should also err on the side of being ambitious. If you’re earning $40,000 right now, aim to bump that up to $100,000, rather than $50,000. But don’t forget to keep things realistic. If you want to leave that old walk-up and move into a beautiful four-story house with a view, you’ll also need enough money coming in to cover it!”

“Lots of the tools to conduct thorough market research are already at your fingertips. Even better? They’re usually free! Here’s a tip to get you started. First off, set up a Google Ads account. Don’t worry about placing your own ads at this point – what you want is the keyword tool, which will tell you what people are searching for on Google.”

“How do you sell information? One way is to package it as a “how-to” manual.
The first step is to hit Amazon or eBay, and see what topics are doing well. Top-selling information categories usually include advice on money, dieting, computing, cosmetics and dating.”

“Once you’ve chosen your subject, you have three options: you can either research and write the manual yourself, hire a freelancer to do it for you or purchase the reprint and resale rights to an existing publication.”

“Next up, you’ll want to use Google Ads to find out how people are searching for your subject. Say you’re producing a manual on effective gambling strategies: you might discover that people are looking up “make money from horse racing.” That’ll tell you which keywords to use in your own ads, which you can then place online and in magazines specializing in your area.
Finally, you’ll need to get hold of a list of people who’ve bought similar products and contact them directly. That’s surprisingly easy – googling “direct mail list brokers” should help you find plenty.”

“Once you’ve produced your manual, you can use the same information to create another product: audio. It’s a great way of reaching out to today’s overloaded and time-poor consumers. For this, you have a couple of choices. You can either record the audio yourself using free podcasting software, or hire a voice-over artist for a couple of hundred dollars. If you get stuck with the tech, remember: you can outsource anything these days!”

In this world of technology, things change so fast. This book is about 5 years old, so it understandably has some advice I find outdated. Overall, this book is full of great advice.

I was able to use the table of contents as an easy guide to dive deeper into the topics I’m interested in and speed through the things less applicable to my situation.

It’s broken down into 3 parts - Taking Control of Your Life, Making Money and Saving Money.

He says it’s easier to save money than it is to earn it and I tend to agree with that. Always keep your overhead as low as possible - even when you’re making a lot. Don’t get lazy or complacent.

Inspiring book strongly advocating entrepreneurship. It breaks down the corporate worklife, and issues around promotions/layoffs/progression etc and highlights how best to take advantage of lingua france globally by starting a business.
"You're often better served by being a second or third person to think of an idea, rather than the first,as both the risks and opportunities will have become clear".
It's also full of perpetual, stoic truths that gives confidence and belief (in yourself, your dreams) as well as practical tips on finance management, like - certain time of the year you should be buying a car to save money.

This book was interesting, and overall it had a few good points. At times however, I felt as if it consisted of advertisements for this or that website or business, and less practical information I would use that was actually applicable to my life. I did enjoy however how the author Vince focused on running your own business and being an entrepreneur. I just wish he had spent more time on finances and investing. He did give some good advice on bartering however. Like he says in the book, unless you ask you will never know if you can get a discount on something.

Good read for anyone wanting to get into business for themselves! Full of great tips! The first part of the book is all about determining what you want out of life. Later, it gets into the meat with lots of links and ideas. I ran my own business for years and I used a lot of these techniques! I'm sure I would have made more money had I followed some of these tips! Others, I thought were a little far-fetched, but on the whole, there are enough good ideas here to make it well worth the purchase and read! Recommended!

I am very disappointed in this book. The title has nothing at all to do with the content. The author says very little about a lot of things. He tells you to leave your spouse if they don't believe in you and support you, you need to get rid of them. There were no takeaways from this book. I had to keep looking at the title and the description of the book and wonder how could they possibly come up with that!

From my prespective, this book is a very practical book based on author's personal experiences. Lack of focus, discuss too many things too little and some topics are only relevant for US and UK markets. I read the book because of its title which I thought will give me more than basics.

However, if I see it from reverse angle, these simple guidances are easy to follow and perhaps if anyone act on it seriously, he might be a billionaire (as per author's claim, that those have been proven by himself).

What interesting for me, this book is a 'New York Bestseller' book which make me wonder why?
