❤️❤️❤️ There's a new, handsome deputy in town. Will a disgraced waitress or a beautiful real-estate agent win his heart in this sweet, feel-good holiday romance?
When Cassie gets fired from the diner days before Thanksgiving for a mishap that wasn’t her fault, all hopes of impressing Deputy Austin Cooper evaporate at that very moment. Worse yet, her all-so-perfect childhood nemesis, Estelle, also has her eyes set on him. She’s got the looks, the money, and no problem with getting what she wants. Ever. But Cassie is flat broke, nothing special to look at, or so she had been told, and has to fight for everything good that happens in her life. How could she even compete with that woman?
They call him a war hero. But all recently retired Army Master Sergeant Cooper wants is to put his military life behind him and to transition into his new civilian life—serving as a Deputy at the Sheriff’s Office in Magnolia Hill. Finding a date is at the very bottom of his priority list. But good grief! He should’ve known that by moving back into a small community, he’d be the talk of the town. But all Austin wants is to get settled before he would even entertain the idea of dating, not to even mention to fall in love again.
When a rare blizzard threatens the cancelation of the town’s Christmas parade and has residents seek shelter from the storm, Cassie and Austin are forced to challenge their deep-rooted beliefs. Will there be a merry Christmas… for both of them?
If you enjoy sweet, small-town Christmas romances with charming characters, all the feels, and HEAs, then you’ll love Christmas Blizzard.
* Although Christmas Blizzard is Book #4 of the SOUTHERN STORMS series, it can also be read as a standalone story.

Do you enjoy sitting out on your back porch, sipping on tea, and watching afternoon storms roll in? Yes? Then we're kindred spirits and you'll love the unruly weather in my Southern Storms series that complicates things considerably for the main characters in my novels.
I live with my hubby smack-dab in the middle of the beautiful state of Alabama. Although it gets hot and muggy in the summer where we live, the beach and inspiration for my next novels are only a weekend trip away.

What a wonderful, quick story. Started and finished in a day. The writer dealt with some serious issues appropriately and didn't have characters make a radical. and unbelievable, immediate change just because.
"Christmas Blizzard" was the third book by this author that I've read, and like the others, it was fantastic! The characters, while flawed in their own ways, were charming and easy to root for.
As always, I appreciate authors who write clean novels. If you love books without offensive words and themes, this is a great one to read. Some of the characters dealt with serious issues (PTSD) but it was handled in way that didn't bog down the story and make it dreary. Even the cranky characters were written in a way that didn't make you hate them.
For readers who don't like heavy themes of Christmas, don't let the title of Christmas Blizzard turn you away from reading it. Though it does take place during the season, it's not chock full of Christmas, so you would for sure still enjoy it. It's a great book during the holidays but could easily be enjoyed throughout the year.
I really detested having to rate this book low. It had great potential.
Both main characters are struggling with some serious problems, and exploring those would have made this a much stronger story. While not exactly glossed over, the problems of PTSD and an alcoholic parent and how to cope in healthy ways could have added much needed layers to these characters and story.
I’m from the south, too, and while winter weather precipitation is rarer here, a few hours of wind and light snow do not a blizzard make. Nor would we call it that. Near coastal southern areas do get true blizzards with inches of snow and winds every now and then, but aren’t recovered in a couple of hours. And really, where were the descriptions of the messy mid and slush that would have been left from the unseasonal temps after? Of icy early morning roads? For a book of this title, it was a massive let down.
Also, to be frank, the whole rivalry with two women characters was like a mean girls movie spin off. How old are these adults again? It was ridiculous and childish, especially in an advertised Christian themed book. No one actually talks that way, and if you as an adult have to sit around drinking wine and bad mouthing someone you didn’t like in high school, you aren’t a heroine, you are an immature baby.
The ‘blizzard’ wasn’t. I pictured days of things and instead we got about 10 pages of build up to one page of storm and aftermath. And why was Cassie wearing the same clothes the next day if she packed an overnight bag?
There were also several typos, wrong words (dinner for diner, do for to, etc.), and repeating sentences that did nothing to layer the story. It didn’t have the magic of a Christmas book, and that’s sad. The characters are wooden cut offs who didn’t grow at all. Also, the time line is off, or maybe this is an old book. The hero says he “was a teen” during the storm of 1993…so he’s now almost 50? Lots of references to him enlisting after 9/11, so again, either this was written a while back or timeline is way off.
Again, it had potential, but to be titled ‘Christmas’ or ‘blizzard’ is just a disservice to potential readers.
Christmas of 2025 just didn’t have all the Christmas feels and I needed something to close out the holidays in a good way. I didn’t get to read a single Christmas book all of December and I was so down because of it! So when my kids went back to school I knew I wanted to kick off the new year with a good book and try to feel some of the Christmas vibes. I listened to the audiobook while I cleaned the house and then the second day while I took down our Christmas tree. It’s such a good, quick read that I would pick it up again and again each holiday season. I am a LEO wife and it’s not often you find a book that has a relationship with a deputy. So this was what drew me to the book instantly. Of course with the added holiday season effect. My husband is also a military veteran so this book really hit home in a few ways. Austin and my husband share a lot of similarities but also different in ways. So such a cute touch of a fantasy but real life at the same time for me. I like how she added the normal life drama but kept it simple and sprinkled it here and there. I do wish there was a tad bit more of a Christmas touch overall. Maybe that reflects back to me and the fact I was craving the vibes. Regardless it was a great read and it gave me the perfect end to our holiday season!
A beautiful story. A rare blizzard threatens to halt the town’s Christmas Parade . While the residents of Magnolia Hill seek refuge from the storm there’s a storm brewing in the hearts of Cassie and Austin at the b n b that cannot be ignored. Can this be the start of more happy Christmas seasons to come , together ? Do Christmas Miracles happen if you believe in yourself and trust in one another…There’s certainly a force at work joining these two together in the same place as the rarest of events occur….. Well written cosy holiday read described well for an immersive experience I read a free copy of this book and my review voluntary
I did not care for the main character in this book. She seemed immature and slightly whiney. I am not sure why the deputy fell for her other than beauty.
The story itself was okay, a little redundant it could have been shortened and made into a much better read. It covers some pretty big topics which feel a bit glossed over.
I did not care for this story. If this is your first time reading this author maybe try another of her stories first before reading this one.
Christmas Blizzard is book 4 in the Southern Storms series and it is a clean heartwarming read. Cassie was raised by a mean alcoholic father who constantly told her she was nothing special and is now an adult who believes that's what every man sees. Austin is a retired military man, dealing with PTSD and is the new deputy in town. He feels that he has to have all his ducks in a row before he can even contemplate dating. A rare blizzard has them re-evaluating their beliefs and leading them to love. I received an advanced review copy courtesy of StoryOrigin and this is my voluntary review.
I don't think honey is as sappy sweet as this book was. Too linear and no depth. They're nice to read after finishing up a very high thrills and adventure novel by Ludlum or those of that genre with how intense and volatile the storyline gets. Some are even fairly dark. It calls for something light afterwards.
This was a nice, easy Christmas story that had some deep issues. I enjoyed how the characters were working through the issues but it wasn't resolved quickly or even within the story. It was a great holiday story that I enjoyed a lot.
This was a fun story with good character development but the spelling and grammar errors were very distracting. Even the main Character’s name was spelled different ways throughout the book sometimes Cassie and other times Cassy. Makes me wonder why it wasn’t proofread.
A bit slow moving at times, but the characters are really likeable, so you enjoy spending time reading about them. I'm glad the part about religion wasn't super pushy. Overall, a very nice book to read, and especially well suited during the holiday season.
A lightweight story of changes coming to the home town when a new deputy is hired. Will he turn out to be as shallow as his real estate agent or as solid and caring as local nice girl?
I loved this series, it's such a cutsie wholesome clean romance and I love how easy it is to disappear into this world of freaky weather, tight knit community and awesome friendships. Can't wait to read more from this author!
This was a struggle to finish. too many editing errors took away from the flow of the story. Story was weak and had no excitement. Characters were bland and not well developed. Definitely not what I expected
Really liked this story. First one by Lexie and want to read more of her writing because was a good story without all the sleazy references to love scene and violence.
What a fun read on a snowy, COLD, Sunday afternoon and evening! It definitely fit the bill for my Christmas themed reading for December. I enjoyed the characters, some drama, and a little bit of forgiveness. The more you know, the better you understand.
I enjoyed reading this light hearted, and clean but with real life drama and tramas story. It was easy to read and kept me engaged and entertained while I was relaxing with some me time!
Cassie, a waitress, and Austin, the new deputy sheriff in the small town of Magnolia Hill, are a great couple once they get over their own past baggage. It was a very cute, wholesome holiday romance with a wonderful narration by Nicole Swanson!
I still love a good, clean romance story with real life situations that pop up. This was a very likeable story and the narration was good. That is key. The icing on the cake for me was the snickerdoodle recipe at the end, lol! I know I will read this again.
I enjoyed this love story because the main characters didn't just jump into bed, and there were no explicit sex scenes. Was a simple story of two people finding love
Sadly this series is not for me. The weather parts are good but I had trouble with the characters and weak plot. Those of you who enjoy the series please continue to read her stories.
New to me author. Sweet book but a very slow simmer and not enough plot for the length. Characters were well thought out and secondary characters made the book enjoyable.
