"Look, but don't touch "

"The Renaldis"

Alone and broke, Paige Stewart can't believe her good luck. Who hires a virtual stranger out of a New York City coffee shop to care for their adorable grandson? Apparently Claudia Renaldi does.

Widower Matteo Renaldi isn't pleased that his mother found a replacement nanny so soon after he fired the last one. Yet little Matty takes to Paige like no other nanny before. And Matteo can't deny he's quite taken with her as well. She's beautiful, sweet, and far, "far" too young for him.

There's something about the gorgeously sexy Matteo that fills Paige with longing to break through his wall of formality and touch his softer side. But no one knows better than she that crushing on her boss is one thing. Acting on those feelings is forbidden. Foolish.

Inevitable

Warning: Sexy, grumpy Italian hero who is determined to keep his walls up. No matter how much his son's sweetly beautiful nanny drives him to distraction

Widower Matteo Renaldi needs a nanny and, as luck would have it, his mother stumbles across Paige Stewart in a coffee shop. The mother has a good feeling, the child instantly warms to her and so the story is born....

Paige is beautiful, sweet, and young. And Matteo, her Italian, RICH boss, well he's gorgeous and sexy of course.

Temporary Arrangement is not an earth shattering read but equally, there's really nothing not to like about this sweet introduction to a love story. It's told from the dual perspective of the hero and heroine, a young girl and a forbidden boss. Yes, it's slightly predictable, and maybe a little cliched, but it reads very nicely, and feels like a delicious taster of the full length novel. An introduction into the characters, their histories, and their thoughts. A wonderful promise of the possibilities to come.

THIS IS A CLIFF-HANGER AND I COULDN'T FIND OUT WHERE OR WHEN THE FOLLOW UP BOOK WAS COMING OUT. I'M REALLY SICK & TIRED OF AUTHOR'S DOING THIS. I KNOW IT'S THE IN THING TO DO BUT AS AN AVID READER, ITS A TURN OFF FOR ME. I REALLY LIKED THE BOOK "BUT" (A REAL BIG BUT)WHAT WAS THE POINT, YOU GET INTO IT, THEN WHAM! WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. GETTING BOOKS FOR FREE OR A LOW PRICE? WHAT YOU GET IS A TEASER. IT'S LIKE IF YOUR REALLY THIRSTY AND SOMEONE HANDS YOU A GLASS OF WATER WITH A TEASPOON OF WATER IN IT HARD TO QUINCH YOUR THIRST WITH THAT!! BY TEASING READERS, IT MAY BACK-FIRE ON SOME OF YOU WRITERS, I'M NOT THE ONLY READER FED UP WITH THIS PRACTICE.

Dear readers,

I know some of you are upset at the length of this novella and how it ends somewhat abruptly. I just wanted to let you all know that this is the kickoff of my new series, The Renaldis, with Samhain Publishing. TEMPTED BY HER BOSS, the continuation (and wrap up!) of Matteo and Paige's story, will be out July 2nd. Preorder links will be available soon.

Just wanted to clear up any confusion!

Solid 4 Stars!!!

This was good. OH, this was good! I really needed something light to read, I'm in a mini reading slump and Temporary Arrangement did the trick!! And that cliffhanger! Omg, I went on the hunt for the next book in the series. I just had to know how Matteo and Paige would continue to live/work/just be around each other after...after...well you'll just have to read it! :D

Also, have any of you read Love, In English? I'm not sure why. But the characters in this book reminded be of the characters in Love, In English by Karina Halle!! Maybe it's just me, but either way this is a book I recommend to anyone who loves a good plot, series, romance and characters!

This had a lot of potential, but there were a lot of places where I felt that it went to the cliche, the draw of the child, the employer nanny romance...none of this is all that taboo, yet in this one it was treated like it was VERY taboo.

Paige and Matteo have chemistry, but there is too much time spent fighting against it and the space is filled with the story of them fighting the attraction.

This is a novella that takes place before the next story in the "duet" and the ending is a little abrupt, but as the next book is available, it is not that big of a deal...but I wanted more from this one before the ending.

I do recommend this title, but somewhat reluctantly.

Paige Stewart is a nanny living in New York City. She just got fired from her job because her last boss tried to "rape her". (And I use quotation marks because she says he tries to rape her, but then describes him basically forcefully kissing her without permission, which is bad, but it's not rape.) She's sitting in a coffee shop when she meets Claudia, grandmother to Matty, who is looking for a nanny for her grandson. Matty likes Paige instantly so Claudia decides to hire her for the job. Matteo, Matty's father, is unsure about hiring someone without so much as a background check, but he concedes after he sees how much Matty likes Paige. And apparently Matteo likes Paige too, and the feeling's mutual.

After seeing their instant attraction, the book fast forwards a month ahead, and we still see no interactions between, basically anybody but Paige and Claudia. It's said that Paige likes Matteo, and Matty and Matteo like Paige, but we don't really see any interactions at all. I would rather see how they are together than just being told about it.

Then next thing you know,

Sweet and hot! Can't wait to read more.
4out of 5 stars

Are you freaking kidding me... I really thought this was gonna give me an ending I could live with not, have me desperately panting for more on an unnecessary cliffhanger:( I did really enjoy the story and the characters. There's definite potential for the plot and characters to progress.

The best thing:
The slow build to the ultimate steamy climax. Building just enough tease to get you excited and piss you off all in the same breath.

The worst thing:
The total out of place and unnecessary cliffhanger that just pisses you off. Worst of all is that book two isn't even out yet, although I am glad I read it today and not earlier because at least I only have to wait two days for book two, but still! Lol

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

I enjoyed this one! It annoyed me a bit that it just ended. I felt like it ended in the middle of nowhere.

Paige just lost her job and then she gets offered a job, to be a nanny for a widower's son. Paige is sweet and young and beautiful and the child takes to her immediately.
While Matteo Renaldi (his father) isn't that impressed that his mother hired someone to look after his child, he can't deny the attraction he feels for Paige.

A Quick read that will make you probably want to scream when the book ends, but don't fret the story continues in the next book

TEMPORARY ARRANGEMENT is the prequel to Karen Erickson's new Renaldis series, which comes out in just a few short weeks. I loved it! It's emotional and sexy, just enough to get me frothing for July. Matteo is a total Italian hottie. I'd nanny for his kid and cross that employer/employee boundary any day...if I weren't married. ;-) Can't wait to read the continuation of the story!

I did find the back matter that the publisher put in a little confusing, which may be the cause of some readers' frustrations when they get to the end of this free story. Note: it's the publisher, not the author, who is in charge of this. Even though I knew this was a prequel, there's an excerpt from WORTH EVERYTHING that's NOT the book that continues THIS story. (There's also an excerpt from another author's book.) From the publisher's back matter, I wasn't quite sure which book continues Matteo's and Paige's story. I had to do some searching (aka author-stalking) to find out.

TEMPORARY ARRANGEMENT is the prequel to TEMPTED BY HER BOSS, which comes out July 2013.

TEMPORARY ARRANGEMENT is a great intro for what promises to be a great new series!

This was an okay read. Like many other reviewers the ending sucked! But what can you do? Give it a lower rating of course. haha The story itself was eh! I don't really care what happens with this story. I can assume they end up getting married and living happily ever after.

Questions/Comments:

What exactly are trouser jeans?

When she's getting ready to masturbate in the bathtub, "A moan escaped her when she found creamy heat between her legs." Um...isn't that expected? She is in a hot bath! IDK, just thought that was a stupid think to say.

How long was she in the bathtub? Did it take her a really long time to cum?

The fact that she initiates the sexual encounter with him was very surprising to me. She was fired from her previous nanny job so you'd think she would have been better with her feelings or whatever when it came to Matteo.

I couldn't help but notice that I've read several books over the years where a guy and girl get together...the guy ends up either fingering the girl or doing oral, either way she cums. Afterward, she's suddenly having regrets for whatever reason and ends up leaving the guy to finish himself. I don't get it.

ooh gee-sh where do I start on this, okay on a positive.....hot Italian male,a great potential to be a great story, and I enjoyed Matteo's POV. ummm Negatives: I did not like the fact the story jumps from when they first meet at his penthouse to a month later....we don't see how she starts falling for Matteo and vice verse. We dont see any dialect between them two until the last couple of pages where guess what the book ends. Some people say it is a cliff hanger...yeah okay lets call it that....but to me it felt like these series book where you only get three chapters and thats it, and so the consent buying of said books just to find out what happens. Very frustrating to say the least! I hope this helps but to end on a positive it really has potential if only in my opinion some things change. Enjoy reading!

So this is a preview/teaser to an upcoming novel. There are so many negative reviews because of the length of this book. It is clearly labeled on Amazon and I was aware of this before reading.

That being said, I am a big fan of KE's books. In this book, we meet Paige who just so happens to be at the right place and right time and gets hired to be a nanny. Convenient as she has just found herself out of a job. Matteo is her new boss and they are instantly attracted to each other.

I would have liked to see some of their daily interaction to see what attracts them to each other (aside from looks). I didn't get sucked in to the characters or their daily lives...yet. I am intrigued though, and will probably buy the next book to see how things develop.

Disapponting: I pre-ordered this?

A shame because Erickson has good descriptive style. However, it's reminiscent of adlolescent contempoaray bodice rippers, and I'm long past that. I wantwed the story of the caregiver to continue, not the erotica that it morphed into.

Skip it

While I don't mind cliffhangers and I don't mind prequels, I DO mind not knowing it before I read something. I was so irritated at the end of this short book that there is no way I will buy the book when it comes out.

WTF? I was reading along, pretty well charmed until it just ended without warning, without resolution. It felt like a slap in the face.

This is a great example of HOW NOT TO DO FREEBIE PREQUELS.

Where did I find it: on my kindle. Yes, literally. This book has been on my Kindle forever. I’m pretty sure it was one of the first I bought when I originally purchased my eReader in 2013. In an effort to read the books I already have, I chose this one.

What I liked: that it was a prequel and a short novella. The storytelling was great and it kept my interest. I quite liked the main characters too. Paige, the young nanny, and her handsome employer, Matteo. There was going to be fireworks!

What I didn’t like: it felt too much of a coincidence that Paige, lost her job as a nanny only to run into the mother of a man who was looking for one. But I went with it because I enjoyed the intrigue.

Overall: I entered this story blind not reading the description first. So it was a nice surprise as I turned each page. It was only when I grabbed the description, I saw it was a free prequel the series below. I quite enjoyed the storyline and guessed that they would fall in love. Then it ended on a cliff hanger to lure the reader into buying the next one. I understand it’s lead in, but shouldn’t I be lured into buying the next one because I loved the characters and wanted more? But there was not enough in this short story for me to do that. I’m sure other readers won’t be out off, and go on to enjoy these sweet romances.

These "reviews" are me just retelling whats happened in the book & are just a way for me to remember what I read.

Don't read it if you actually don't want to know exactly what happened in the book.

Well, apparently it takes me 5 yrs to go through my ku tbr as well. Can't believe I hadn't finished this sweet little gem. Paige is down on her luck, just been fired from her last nanny position cause the husband tried forcing himself on her. She has a chance encounter w/a nice woman (claudia)& young boy (matty) at a Cafe. Claudia hires her right on the spot to be Matty's nanny. For the next month, everything's going fine. She barely runs into the hot hunky father (Mateo) at all, which wss fine because she had to tell him about her previous employer, which put them on specific footing where she felt like nothing would happened between them. But a month later, Claudia suggests she take a bath in Matteo tub. She does & Matteo catches her. It get a bit steamy but only just cause she freaks out learning that he watched her in the tub before she came out & saw him. Which is where it ends.

Please note that this is a prequel to Tempted by her boss and it ends with a cliffhanger. Don't read/buy this book if you don't want to invest in another novel.

In this book, we meet Paige and Matteo with his son Matty. Paige is looking for employment and Matteo's mother offers her a job as a nanny for Matty. Since Paige needs the money she accepts and later that day meets Matteo, a widower who loves his son very much but cannot take care of him 24/7 because he is busy with work and trying to fill the void the death of his wife left.

There is a scene in the bathtub that might be considered a little creepy and pervy, but I think the readers won't consider the tub scene to be anything other than steamy. The first book in the series and the end of Paige and Matteo's journey is not as good as this novella is. This is the only reason I am not telling you to read this novella. Some things have changed there and some events of this book are forgotten in the novel that follows.

This was a short read focusing on the introduction of the characters and the story of Matteo and Paige. As a former nanny I'm always excited to read romance novels involving a nanny and her boss, so reading this book was a given. I couldn't wait to start.

"To want this, want him would surely ruin her."

I enjoyed this quick read and it definitely left me wanting more from Paige and Matteo. Paige was the sweet and caring nanny employed by single, hot Italian father, Matteo. Things escalated pretty quickly between the pair and I have a feeling the next book is going to be even steamier. I'm off to find out!

Great Beginning

Paige is drinking her coffee trying to figure out what she should do. Being fired because she didn't want her boss to take her didn't leave many options. Mattel & grandmother Claudia are waiting for another applicant for the nanny position. They seems to connect because little Mattel thought she was pretty. She walked into a job. Now she has to get over being fascinated by her biss.

This was such a teaser of what's to come in Tempted by Her Boss. Matteo and Paige are basically thrown together by his mother to have Matteo's little boy happy and taken care of. But the chemistry between the two could become a problem. Will start on the next book soon so I can find out what happens.
