Jade and Lincoln have a past and the book is all about whether or not they have a future. In general, it was a very straightforward harlequin romance. I liked the two main characters but there were some flaws in the story, in my opinion. The flaws pertain to the reason she ends up indebted to him and how incongruous it is to Lincoln’s handling of it. In that vein, I felt as if Jade somewhat robbed Lincoln and she had the decency to begin to see this, but Lincoln never addressed it and it sorta faded into the background towards the end. Plus Jade’s sister drove me absolutely batty and I felt like attempts to give her any redeeming qualities were halfhearted.
I don’t want to give much away so I’ll leave it at this.
I enjoyed it so maybe it's closer to a 4.5. The flow was a bit disrupted and some key points I wanted to know more about. But overall it was a good story.
"Love Me Like No Other" is book one in "The Donovan's" series by A.C. Arthur. Jade is trying to pay off her sister's gambling debts by gambling and ends up losing more money. The owner, Lincoln, has her come up and realizes it's the same woman that he had a one-night stand with back in college. His feelings for her have never gone away, and to make up the money to him, he propositions her with going to his parents for the week and pretending to be with him. He gets tired of his mom always trying to fix him up with women and thinks this is a great solution. I love how strong and take no crap Jades character is. She has put up a barrier from being taken advantage of in past relationships and doesn't want to get close to anyone or to get hurt again. This was a great first book in a series, and I look forward to reading the others in this series. A.C. Arthur is a new to me author this year, and I have been enjoying her writing.
A.C. Arthur has done it again! Talk about a feel good book. I thoroughly enjoyed Linc Donovan and Jade Vincent. And who wouldn't fall for Linc's character! All I can say is I don't know how Jade could resist Linc, he was TOTALLY irresistible! He is DEFINITELY every woman's dream man. The story is a fast paced, page turner, with lots of hot and steamy romance! It was just a very heart-warming tale. The characters are well developed and quite realistic. Mrs. Arthur writes their story in a way that makes it easy to get totally caught up in their lives. The dialogue is witty, funny and very entertaining. And the secondary characters are unforgettable. And with the secondary character development, Mrs. Arthur has set the stage, so that I will be anxiously anticipating more from the Triple Threat Brothers. I can hardly wait to find out what she has in store for Linc's brothers Trent and Adam. A MUST Read! You will not be disappointed.
4 stars. A little too much of Linc and Jade not communicating for my tastes but other than that this was so damn good. I love Arthur’s writing style and her romances never fail to make me swoon and this one was no exception. I loved the plot, the characters were great (and super stubborn omg) and the chemistry between Linc and Jade was everything. There’s a lot of tension and push and pull between them but it made the ending so satisfying. Especially since we get some pretty good groveling from Linc and I love> a hero who grovels. I’m excited to get to the next book and continue on with the series.
LINC! *slow clap* I wanna fight Trent in the street but LINC is that dude. I am not a huge fan of a back and forth ‘we can’t have a relationship but let’s screw and have tender moments’ that I see so much in romance but without it there would be no story, right? It’s the tug of the heart vs the tug of the mind. This is also why I am bad at romance bc I would most def be in my room and not compromising myself and my feelings for a man that says he isn’t the marrying kind. ANYWAY. AC said this series was complete so I decided to jump into book 1. I’m really hoping to get to the latter books in the series but wanted to get the early books in first.
On to book 2!

I loved reading about Jade and Linc. Their love was so real and the fact that they lost eight years together is still lost to me. Linc could have admit his feelings eight years ago. But the proposition he proposed to her. He was able to fall madly in love with her all in one week. This was a very great book, and I loved every book I’ve read from the author so far. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series ! ❤️❤️
After reading several of the books in the series, I decided to start at the beginning. I'm not disappointed for taking the time. I have been entertained. The theme of forgiveness echoed throughout the storyline, honesty and maturity. I like the author's writing and plots
I kept receiving books in this series and never read them because I had not started the series but I'm glad I decided to read this series. It's filed with passion. Good first book.
It started off a little slow with a lot of telling instead of showing. But it got better as it went along. Loved Beverly and glad she knew how to handle her son! I will probably continue the series.
I loved that linc and jade got it together. It’s true love when you can pick up after 8 years like nothing happened. Which brother will end up with noelle
This was an excellent book. I enjoyed every moment of it. A love lost love 8 years ago has a chance to be rekindled. This story definitely didn't disappoint.
This was the beginning that I read almost last. This was a good read with a very good ending. The later books have taken a more adventurous suspensefull tone. All-in-all this author captured and held my attention cover to cover.
While I have read two other books by this author, this is my first read of her series. I really enjoy stories/series that focus on families. This first installment in The Donovans was very enjoyable. Lincoln, the oldest of the Triple-Threat Donovans is felled by a woman from his past, Jade. The development of the relationship between these two and how the Donovan family works made for a great read. My only concern was Ms. Arthur's transitions within chapters. This book was published in 2010 and it will be interesting to see how this develops.
I really enjoyed this book. The only part that bothered me was the abrupt switch in scenes sometimes or in characters thoughts. Usually there is something in the book like a line or some kind off symbol indicating that but it wasn't really a big deal. I loves Jades character as well as Beverly's. I'm excited to read about the next Donovan love interest.
I couldn't put this book down. It was a good MUST read. I liked the fact that Jade was protecting her sister. Then Linc got involved and also helped her out. That's when I really knew he had a big heart. At one time Jade got on my last nerve, but by the end I was rooting for her. But yes, I want a Linc. Great job Ms. AC Arthur, I'm a new fan. Kudos!
I like this book - the fact that I read it in two days is an indication, plus my five hour ride back from Montreal helped a lot. It was refreshing after all of the murder mysteries I've been reading lately. Loved it - I’m on the second Donovan story now – Adam here I come.
First off i'm not paying no damn debt for nobody, secondly I would've been slapped Trent. Like damn mind your own business. Overall I liked the book but I really thought her ex would make an appearance.
I really enjoyed Lincoln and Jade's story! They had great chemistry. Their story had a lot of ups and downs but in the end they prevailed. I'm so glad Lincoln finally came to his senses and realized he did love Jade!
Because it's an awesome book I like that jade and Lincoln finally stop fighting their feelings for each other I would recommend this book to all the women in my family
