Though lacking much authentic Welsh blood, Kim Lawrence comes from English-Irish stock. She was born and brought up in North Wales. She returned there when she married, and her sons were both born on Anglesey, an island off the coast. Though not isolated, Anglesey is a little off the beaten track, but lively Dublin, which Kim loves, is only a short ferry ride away. Today they live on the farm her husband was brought up on. Welsh is the first language of many people in this area and Kim's husband and sons are all bilingual she is having a lot of fun, not to mention a few headaches, trying to learn the language! She is a keen gardener and cook and enjoys running often on the beach, as living on an island the sea is never very far away. She is usually accompanied by her Jack Russell, Sprout don't ask, it's long story!

With small children, the unsocial hours of nursing didn't look attractive so encouraged by a husband who thinks she can do anything she sets her mind to, Kim tried her hand at writing. Always a keen Mills & Boon reader, it seemed natural for her to write a romance novel. In 1995, she published her first novels and now she can't imagine doing anything else.

I have not liked the latest books by this author and this one was no exception. The heroine buries her mother and then loses her virginity in a one-night stand with a stranger. She doesn't know his name, nothing, in this day and age of HIV/AIDS she has unprotected sex? Stellar! Of course she gives birth and then sees the hero again, who immediately wants to smex her. When he learns he has a baby, he wants to be a part of her life,, gasp, such a villain!! The heroine acts stupidly, hero of course is smart and brings her around. The book was just dull.

I accidentally read this again and I want to gouge out my eyes and pretend I never read it. The hero constantly thought about sex and his sex life. I was just unimpressed. She was just a one night stand but still. I would have had him checked before jumping in bed. Just yuk.

I wish I had never read this. The un-hero is so NOT celibate and a total pig. I wish I had never read this and I hate the hero so much. The little girl is so freaking adorable but I really don't understand why they are even attracted with one another!

This is not one of my favourite books by this author, who I find myself either liking one of her books or not liking another!!

I just felt totally disconnected to the heroine...she was such a cold-heart....the sniping and biting manner she displayed towards the hero, drove me absolutely bats.....maybe it had something to do with the horror mothering she received...but girl, should that not tell you something...not to be like your now dead mother...so what does Isabel do??? Turns into a replica of her cold Mum......and the whole "Izzy" thing..why on earth would you want to be called that when you have a name like Isabel!!!!!!!

Roman kind of grew on me. He may have come across a bit of a controlling guy...but he was never cruel or unkind...like Isabel was to him.

I felt there was a lack of chemistry between the two....and the few love scenes were pretty..okay..nothing to rave about.

I guess Isabel kind of makes up for all her nonsense in the end...too bad it took so long.

But hey, I was happy their had their HEA...

Just another secret baby after a ONS. Nothing more, nothing less.
The heroine has just buried her mother and she’s not feeling well, meets the hunk hero and has a ONS where names are not said, she leaves in the morning and finds out she’s pregnant.
Two years later they meet accidentally and he finds out he has a daughter. Since he had chemo previously he is happy and surprised that he can be a father, and he tells the heroine he wants them to be together.
After some ingenious moves he manages to persuade her to get married, in the end he admits he’s in love with her.
Meh. Not a lot of angst.
- the hero had cancer and has a limp.
- there’s an ex fiancée who dumped the hero because she didn’t want to cope with health issues. The hero doesn’t love her.
- best sex of his life was with the heroine, who, by the way, was a virgin.
- usual double standard. He had ow while separated, she hadn’t other men. But of course. Why should women enjoy themselves. Let them be unhappy while men have their fun, after all this is what any chauvinist society wants. Go eff.
- the hero was not a jerk, he was understanding and civil, he was attracted to her, never abusive.
- the heroine coped. She had a rich family so no, thank god she wasn’t a starving waitress without even a roof over her head.
- boring.

Trying to clear our all the books that have been given to me to read over the last 6 months that have sat in a pile near my bed. This is one of a dozen that I need to return to my Mum.

What can I say? It was a quick 2 hour read that is cliche to the max. But it was entertaining enough for what it is. What is alarming though, is the last few M&B books (including this one) have all had the same message:

If you are a virgin, have a one night stand with some random guy, don't use condoms, don't use birth control, don't get his name, do not worry about the fact that he looks poor, but do make sure he is gorgeous. If you do all this then he will overcome the laws of probability and find you (and your new cute little baby) again and then you will have a billionaire husband without any STDs. Ahhhhh.

Seriously? DO NOT DO THIS GIRLS! Use a bloody condom!

A good read.

They had a night of hot sex without names over 2 years ago where they we both trying to forget some painful emotions. Neither can forget that night but they can't track the other down as they did not exchange names....

They met again and Izzy is hoping he doesn't remember her and hoping he does....now is her chance to tell him about Lily. For Roman it is an eye opener. Believing he would not have any kids and not miss it. Once he sees Lily he realizes how much he did want kids.

When they met again they just click and share a passionate kiss. Feeling the heat between them and seeing his daughter makes Roman charge full speed ahead in pursuit of Izzy.

They both have secrets and are emotional scared individuals but there is just something about them that makes them likeable. Maybe it is their little terror Lily.

It was a nice well written read but I didn't like how it would jump ahead without warning.

Ugh.. not a fan of the h. Usually I don't mind prickly heroine but this one was prickly with no good reason. The H didn't do anything wrong and the h was so defensive it was annoying. The baby was kinda like a doll, some occasional cry here and there but wasn't memorable or anything.

This is one awesome book. How could I have missed it. This book has a great plot and a wonderful story I am just sorry we did not get to read about their first night together but it was awesome regardless. The minute he see her again he goes in full charging bull mode. Which worked for me and when he found about their daughter he just gives himself a reason to go after her. Which he does and he continues to ask her to marry him all the while denying his feelings for her. She is just a sweet girl with big ideas about love and family and I enjoyed her character very much. I liked how the author included the little girl into the book in such a way that was totally believable. She was a toddler and she acted like one. All in all a great story and I will keep this one.

The Petrelli Heir

When a one night stand that no names were exchanged you can expect that she would be left a lasting reminder. Now two years later he sees her at a wedding. He wants to reconnect and experience the sexual relations between them. But what happens when he finds out about her child? Is it his? What will he do now?

I liked that the dude didn't try to take her child, which is a sadly low bar that few of these jerks manage to clear.

I mostly liked both of the leads and the scenario. The ending felt a little rushed, but mostly because the guy getting his shit together was left so late.

Not a bad book, but kinda meh in execution.

It was a short read so there was little time for character development, and the end felt quite rushed.

There could have been more going on to bond the two characters rather than Roman proposing to Izzy just because she has his child.

The jealousy situation at the end wasn't fleshed out enough.

It was a good read for what it is if you enjoy a guilty pleasure type of read.

Absolutamente aburrido.
Es lento, predecible, poco emocionante y con un lenguaje y diálogos que no parece natural.

Two stars because I like the hero. I didn't like the heroine and I didn't feel the love between them.
Kim Lawrence is a good author though, but this book is not one of her best.

The Petrelli Heir by Kim Lawrence is a hot romance with complications and misunderstandings that just makes this story more interesting.

Roman Petrelli knows how precious life is, and how fast it can all be taken from you. After being diagnosed with bone cancer and loosing his fiancée, by walking out on her when he finds out he may not be able to have children, he is trying to drown out his sorrows in a bar.Read More...

An impossible truth
Roman Petrelli knows exactly how precious life is. Now that he can't produce an heir, he's the last Petrelli standing. So how could Isabel Carter have given birth to his baby? Izzy's one night with Roman was an uncharacteristic act of spontaneity that left her with more than redhot memories. Her little daughter is the family that Izzy's always wanted. When Roman demands to be part of his child's life Izzy fears he'll sweep in and take over. But Roman's determined to get what he wants and he'll use any means necessary—charming or otherwise!

actually I liked h and H and the idea of their one night stand that results with the baby, sexual awareness, problems that occur,circumstances,etc... but I had a problem with pace set in the book that is too slow for me,then nearing end gets,hm,jumpy, chopped? and some unnecessary informations and characters that had nothing to add to the story, most hateful thing is to wish skip pages when reading...

Izzy's mom died and in her grief and anger had a one night stand with Roman, a stranger she met at a bar.

Roman was at the bar drowning his sorrows after being dumped by his fiancée. He saw Izzy as an attar tic distraction from his pain.

Didn't really fall in love with these characters. Izzy was to argumentative and Roman was too distant. The story was almost boring. I forced myself to finish.

It was disappointing in some ways and kind of disgusting too. Especially the actions of the heroines mother. The hero came off as an asshole and extremely arrogant. His actions were self serving and I couldn't happen to be more frustrated. I felt pity for the heroine, that she was used in that way and then practically kidnapped. I was glad for the happy ending.

A plot line visited by many authors in the past but here, it fell flat. In this kind of plot line, I would like to feel and see some of the pain or feelings the characters experience. In this book, I did not. Also, it didn't make allowance for changes in our time, book was first published in 2013, things that could be overlooked in books written in 1960-70.

This is a brief one night romance between Izzy and Roman and the child they conceive. The book is nice. Kim Lawrence is a good author but this story had way too much dialogue. The chemistry didn't come out as strongly. But the moments with Lily and the first half of the boo starts really well to make you want to finish.

Heredara oculta me ha parecido una historia muy tierna. Los diálogos y las miradas entre los protagonistas son para tener en cuenta, y el plus de la pequeña Lily da una hermosura particular a la historia. Para mí es recomendable

Read and think it’s ok, nothing special. I was surprised to see I had read it before. Good thing Goodreads keeps track.
