Hello, Goodreads? I NEED MORE STARS!!!
Horizon is the final book in the Elemental Enmity series, and what an ending!! This was one of those series that will stay with me for years to come. Five stars isn’t even close to enough!
How do you describe a story that moved you, that days later you cannot get out of your head? I’m going to have to try, but know there is no way my review will do this story justice. It starts out after Rayla has been rescued by Heath, the two are in love, but she is still bonded to Zach (Ammon). Zack searches for his bond-mate and she is physically ill from their separation, but her heart only wants Heath. This disagreement between Rayla’s heart and body was heart-wrenching.
When Zack finds Rayla she vows not to give herself over fully to him. She doesn’t hide her feelings for Heath and Zack (who I expected to EXPLODE) accepts her, thankful to have whatever pieces of her she's willing to share. Another Fae, more powerful than the five Fae Lords sets his sights on Rayla. He’s vile, evil, powerful, and one of the most horrible villains I’ve come across in the paranormal romance genre. I won’t say anymore because it would be impossible to do so without spoilers.
The story is eloquently written. I love the way Christie Rich writes, every scene is written so vividly that I feel like I’m in the story. Every scene is full of action and *swoooooon* she makes me fall for every male character! How is that possible? I hate love tri-angles, but she has accomplished a love-pentagram (five sided – five Fae Lords) that I could not put down!! Her characters are multi-dimensional and her plot is deeply layered.
Get the first book in this series, FIVE, (it’s free from all book stores). Read it, and then try to tell me I’m wrong. I know you’ll fall in love with Christie Rich’s writing, just as easily as you fall in love with her characters.
Congratulations, Christie, on another HOME RUN!! I’m sad to see that this series has ended, but the ending was pure magic. Thanks so much for sharing it with the world!

Wow, not sure what to say, just wow, what a journey this series has taken me on. This series actually left me with a book hangover in a way. I needed more of this world, and more of Heath, lol. Wow, just love that guy.
This last book in the series (at least I think it is) really was the best, although they all build up to this one, so really, to me it was like one giant book, lol. I absolutely loved it, loved the ending, and was happy for the most part, but was not expecting a lot of what did happen to happen.
I have trouble writing this review, because I do not want to spoil anything for anyone, especially if you had not read the previous books.
I am not going to tell you anything about he story, you can get the gist of it from the summary, and like I mentioned, don’t want to spoil some of these amazing twist and turns.
We do get a lot of the questions answered, and can see that this could be the last book. But to me, it could go on, as there is always something more that can happen.
I would give many more stars if there were any, lol, Let’s just say, Max stars no matter where it is posted, lol
Great writing, and great story. I highly recommend it.
I only dislike one thing, and that's the cover, it poorly done, if you look, the girl is UNDER the wing of the Pegasus, just not possible, so, I have issues with that, I am a person who loves great covers, and the cover is actually what draws me to a book, so this is a big flaw to me. BUT the story is amazing, just wish the cover would have been done better (meaning the flaw in the wings and girl done wrong.

Along the way, she spends a “moment of feeling like the biggest douche ever,” and continues learning new insights and wisdom, such as “careful is for beggars and bastards.”
Is there an HEA in Rayla’s future or do the lustful lords abandon all hopes of exclusivity and draft a timeshare plan? You’ll have to read “Horizon” to find out, but I promise you won’t be disappointed. And, for those who hate to see a good thing end, I urge you to look at “Horizon” not as an end, but rather a beginning … the beginning of Rich’s next thrilling novel.
I highly recommend “Horizon” to YA, PNR, and fantasy fans.

This series is so refreshing after reading the usual formula driven books. After dealing with the five Fae Lords who pursued her in the beginning, Rayla has made the choice in her heart and picked Heath although she is still bonded to Zach. Evil is at work in the Fae and Mortal Realms, Rayla must discover how to control her gift lest she risks losing her freedom and ultimately the power to choose her own mate. Plenty of action in this book, lots of tender moments and redemption for some of those that have wronged her. Old enemies become allies and Rayla needs to trust in her feelings if she has any hope of fighting that age old war of "Good versus Evil." With an ending that surprised me, I felt it stayed true to who Rayla is and tied up all the loose threads quite nicely. An entertaining read and I can't wait to read her next series.

All in all, the series was pretty enjoyable. *Spoiler Alerts*
I was expecting more action with the five elements in this final book. However, the struggles, even the majority of the final battle, stemmed around mind control. It would have been cool to see how void could have been used in a fight.
The romance was the most engaging element of the storyline. Rayla finally became more levelheaded and logical. For the most part, she wasn’t making ridiculous decisions that obviously would have gotten anyone else in her position killed. Some honorable qualities began to develop in her; like the fact that she refuses to lead Zach on. Also, she earned some respect when she didn’t comprise herself before marriage, and stayed true (if you don’t count kissing Zach for power) to those vows.
On the flipside, she still cries like no character I’ve ever read about. It was so exciting when she finally promised not to cry until she accomplished everything she needed to. Then, flip only a few pages, and oh . . . what’s this? She’s crying again! So much for that promise.
The ending was satisfactory. Most conflicts were resolved except for the fact that they let Valen escape! After everything the reader endured with the characters and he gets away. Additionally, I had to reread the ending a few times just to get some of the logic of the wrap-up and explanations; still confused on a few points: The deal Faine made with Valen is still unclear. Everyone made a huge deal about Travis, like there was something very important about his powers, and nothing is revealed. Is he the first male Elemental? That’s what I suspected for a while, but I’m not sure in the end. The deal Rayla made with the angel was a little muddled. In the end, did she remake the entire world? It seemed as though she got to restructure the Fae realms, but this section needed a little more clarification.
Overall, despite some of the confusion, I was very engrossed in the series and finished it quickly.

This week I’m reviewing book #4, Horizon and that will wrap up the reviews for the Elemental Enmity series by Christie Rich…at least until book 5 comes out. (fingers crossed)
I have to say I’m going to miss getting to talk about this series. I was in love with it before but now I feel like it has become part of my regular blogging life. I guess that happens after 4 weeks. (sigh…Christie, Christie, Christie…I so need another book in this series. )
Alright, enough procrastinating. Lets get to the review.
This is a tough review to write because I have so much I want to say about this fantastic series but I don’t want to ruin anything for those of you who may not have started reading it yet. So I will be just have to bottle up my gushing about the awesomeness of certain events and be vague.
It should be no secret by now that I am a HUGE fan of this author. I love her world building, her characters, and the depth of her writing. I’m not sure if that is the right word to use but what I mean is that she has a gift for weaving moral, social, and spiritual growth lessons into her writing. Her story telling is such that you can easily fall into the story and get lost in the entertainment of it but if you let yourself pause and reflect you find yourself discovering so much more.
Rayla has had to fight for the right to remain her own person. She has learned that outward appearances tell you nothing of a person’s intent or worth. She has had everything she believed to be true destroyed. She had to discover and have faith in her own beliefs and has learned that the heart, mind, and body are very seldom in agreement. She is a character that I admire and love.
I know I said I wasn’t going to talk about specifics but I just have to get one thing out. Hy-Brasil seemed almost like Eden to me and I couldn’t help but draw some comparisons and lessons from it. As I said before, Christie Rich has a gift for story telling that will whisk you away to amazing worlds and have you falling in love with extraordinaire creatures. If you haven’t started reading the Elemental Enmity series yet please do me, the author, and yourself a favor and try book 1, Five. It is a free download so you’ve got nothing to lose and you just might find yourself falling for a Fae Lord or two by the end.

WAAHH!! I loved the ending! Well, I would have loved it even more if they (all the fae ruled by none other than Rayla) were in some sort of celebration after everything settled down...as much as possible.
I just knew Rayla would be a queen somehow from those comments made by Finn and Cassie. Damn! I could use some more chapters to see her as one though. How would she be as a ruler? There's so much more. I guess that would be more in Travis' story huh?
After everything...Love is amazing. Braesal and Carissa then Zack and Faine...

After four books, one would think a story could get tiresome but I have to say the author wrapped this one up pretty nicely. I even cried a little at the end. I really enjoyed the originality of this story most of all, introducing a type of character called an "Elemental" and weaving The Fae into it was a brilliant stroke. I think faeries have now become my new favorite fantasy type of character. If you're up for a good series, start with the 1st one - "Five". I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Keeping you entranced to the very end. It wraps up beautifully in a very
satisfying way.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading of Rayla's adventures and determination
to remain in control of her own destiny. I highly recommend this series, as it is
one of the best I've stumbled upon in years.
Christie Rich has proven she can weave a world of mystery and intrigue, love and passion
of epic proportions, I will be on the look out for more of her work and can't wait to see what
she comes up with next.

Just finished reading Horizon and loved it! I am excited to know that you might continue on. I also read your insert for "Netherworld", when will this be coming out? And, thanks for including some of your favorite authors, great resource to have.

awesome book. I absolutely recommend the series. Great ending and hopefully more books come out because I love Rayla and Heath. I also would love to read more about the lords individually. Hear their story, anyways, thank you so much for this amazing book.

It was okay but I must say I was kind of disappointed in some way about the ending, although it others I was not. Overall the series rates about a 3 star review. I wouldn't read it again but it was nice to read.

Who is Rayla going to pick? Rich has managed to string me along to the fourth book. I keep changing my mind on who she should end up with.
This was a fun book. Rich keeps strong in her writing, if not getting better book by book.

:( the only reason I did not give it a solid 4 or even 5 stars was the ending. I really didn't buy it nor liked it. Not to mentioned Rayla just about got on my last nerve...
