Falling in Silence

Rate this book
New Adult (mature content). Recommended for readers 17+ due to explicit sexual content, harsh language and adult themes.

Imogen is mute... she has chosen to live this way because of her heartbreaking loss five years previously. Her best friend is Adrian, and was her father's gay lover... before he decided to help her.
She's been shunted and shafted her entire childhood, and now as an adult she's just become homeless.

Saxon has worked hard to build a life beyond the slums and drug culture that plagued his parents. He's sworn off women since his history with them is less than stellar. He's a single dad and working hard to provide for his deaf daughter, Bailey.

Imogen hasn't any time for Saxon, despite her physical attraction to him; but she's got plenty of time for Bailey.
Saxon refuses to let Imogen in... she's gorgeous and dangerous; he doesn't need a repeat performance of his past.
Yet their determination to remain indifferent to each other, seems to be at odds with what fate desires, and in rapid time they find themselves falling... despite the silence that surrounds them.

I'm so glad you came to stop by and read a few of my stories.
Thank you, and I hope you enjoyed them.
To those that began reading my stories over a decade ago, an even bigger thank you.
Without your support I wouldn't have been able to afford to finish university.
I no longer write under this name. But I hope these stories resonate with people still.
Adios...

As per usual... I will be giving my book 5 stars.

And just for a teaser quote:

Saxon:
I breathe her in deeply, before I begin my retraction. I hope nobody noticed that… my daughter’s in tears, and I took a two second Daddy time to suck in the feminine smells of a woman I just shot down, but whose body I’m at the same time craving.

3.5 Stars.

I enjoyed reading this book.

Imogen is Mute, she's chosen to live that way because of her past. She's had a difficult life as a result of her asshole parents and jerkwad of an ex-boyfriend. Adrian, who is her father's gay lover (yeah, I know!), is her protector- a big brother type. She's finally had enough of her father being and ass and decides to move out, but she needs a place stay for a few months before school starts.

Enter Saxon... a great guy, single father who works hard to provide for his 5 yr old. daughter Bailey. Prue, Bailey's mother, splits when she finds out Bailey is deaf at a year old. Sax and Bailey have just moved into Tom's cabin and a Tom asks Sax if Imogen can stay with him for a couple of months. At first Sax hates the idea. He finds Imogen super attractive, but doesn't want anything distracting him form his work or Bailey.

Once Imogen moves in, Bailey falls completely in love with her... she's not the only one though. Both Imogen and Sax have dark pasts, but neither one can ignore the attraction they feel for each other.

A beautiful love story! A feel good type of book. Alternating POV, which I loved! Although I felt Imogen and Sax relationship was going at super lightning speed, their feelings felt real, and their love developed prefectly. The story was original - a nice breath of fresh air. The writing was great, I think Ms. Copp did an amazing job writing Sax's POV- super funny and very guy like. Both Imogen and Sax are great characters -strong and immature free. It was great to finally read a book with no back and forth banter. And of course, the hot and yummy steaminess of the book gets 2 thumbs up!

This is a pretty calm and mellow read. Although there is some drama, it gets resolved with very little angst or steam. There is no huge climax, just a few bumps in the road. I usually enjoy a good dose of angst and suspense... hence the lower rate. It had nothing to do with the book, just my personal preference.

Totally ends in a HEA, and has a great epilouge. Enjoy!

Una historia bonita, que se pasa muy rápido, creo que la autora podía haber ampliado algunas partes, pero en general es buena lectura

I WAS SO IMPRESSED, SO MUCH I WENT AND BOUGHT ALL THE REST OF HER AVAILABE BOOKS. I LOVED HER WRITING STYLE, STORY LINE WAS EXCELLENT, CHARACTERS TRULY WONDERFUL, THIS HAD THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF EVERYTHING ROMANCE, LOVE, STEAMY SEX, ABUSE, PARENTS FROM HELL AND SUCESS IN LIFE EVEN IF THE ODDS SEEM TO BE AGAINST YOU. I HAVE BECOME A BIG FAN OF MS. COPP AND HOPE SHE COMPLETES "RESILIENT" SOON,AT LEAST THE FIRST TWO BOOKS ARE SITTING ON MY KINDLE FIRE READY-N-WAITING. I TRY NOT TO START A SERIES UNTIL ALL THE BOOKS ARE OUT. I DON'T REALLY LIKE GETTING TIED UP IN A SERIES I PREFER A STAND ALONE EVEN IF IT IS A SERIES. THAT WILL BE HARD BECAUSE I TRULY DID ENJOY READING THIS BOOK. I LOVED THE DIFFERENT POV's OF SAX & IMOGENE AND THE FACT WHAT WAS THOUGHT WASN'T REPETATIVE LIKE SO MANY OTHER BOOKS I'VE READ (and I-read-a-lot). SOME AUTHOR'S ACT AS THOUGH READERS WON'T NOTICE THIS(I do and I hate it), THEY DO THAT I GUESS TO MAKE A NOVELLA INTO A NOVEL. HAH! I LOVED EACH PAGE OF THIS BOOK, I WANTED TO GET TO THE ENDING BUT HATED WHEN IT CAME. SIGH! ;D

I don't write a lot of reviews partially because it seems like other reviewers have already said everything I would say.
This book was different from most of the New Adult books I read. There was definetly some past issues with the main characters, but it was not drawn out where the readers are left wondering why are they both broken. We know right away what their histories are. This is just the story of how they meet, fall in love and love each other. It was a very sweet story considering some of the other books I have recently read. I will say there are not a ton of conflicts or misunderstandings going on, other readers may not like that. I found it a nice change of pace.
I'll probably end up re-reading this book, it was just an overall good romance book.

How does this book has such a high rating on Goodreads is a mystery to me. It started promissing with the introduction of a beautiyfl mute girl living in the forest. About 10 pages in I started thinking it must have been initially written as a fun-fiction. Then it quickly went downhill. I forced myself to read about 50 pages, but this book has an atrociously bad writing. At first I laughed at a very poor writing, then it started to really bother me, but after 50 pages I couldn't take it anymore. I'm embarrassed for the author.

The idea of the book was really good but the writing style and the bad grammar was something I could not overlook. I really wanted to like the book because it was unusual but I had to stop reading for my sanity when the author went into embarrassing detail about how she was grooming her "intimate bits". Really?? do I really need to know that or have that image in my mind?? I will definitely consider re-reading this book if it was edited.

This is the 2nd of Criss Copp's books I have read and loved this as much as Almost Summer, which if you haven't read you need to!

I read this in a day and loved the way the story evolved and as always love an Epilogue!

Really pleased to have discovered this author and will be seeking out more of her books.

don't let the cover fool you! i actually
this is an BEAUTIFUL read, not too much angst or drama going on, and that's how i like it. some people who like angsty books may find this more boring than usual, but this is my type of book, one with not too many heartbreaks.

The idea was good, but there wasn't really a whole lot of conflict and resolution. Overall the writing was pretty good and I connected with the characters.

No estuvo mal, pero ya no me fiaré de leer las reseñas de RB sino que vender directamente a GR antes que vea un libro NA

No es un libro que recomiendo.
Pero tampoco un libro que arrancaría de las manos a quién lo lea.
