Crossing Lines

Rate this book
The world’s best-stocked toy drawer can only take a gal so far. Bored with her current assortment of vibrating, plastic pieces, Sam Wallace decides to add a new sex toy to her collection: Kevin Mazze. The sexy Italian is more than happy to help her live out her long-held sexual fantasies, and trusting him with her body is easy. Trusting him with her heart, however, is not… especially when he commits an unforgiveable sin.

Kevin Mazze is one of the good guys. He’s spent his life always doing the right things and making those around him happy. When he meets the woman of his dreams, at the worst possible time, he finds himself making bad choices in the name of good and crossing lines he never thought he would… while praying she never finds out.

Let me just start off by saying I could not put this book down. I was so excited to hear that this was Kevin's story. I wanted Kevin to have his Happily Ever After and Sam could not be more perfect for him in all ways possible. This was an emotional story for me. I laughed, I got angry, and definitely teared up a little. Thank you Alannah for a fabulous read. You never disappoint! If you haven't started the Heat Wave Series, you are definitely missing out on something special.

After enjoying the first book in this series and loving book two, Alannah Lynne had some big shoes to fill with book three. I wondered if she could strike gold a third time and I am so happy to report that boy did she ever. As much as I liked the characters in books one and two, I absolutely adore the characters in Crossing Lines and holy hell this woman wrote one hell of a ménage scene where only two people were present. Have I piqued your interest, I hope so because this is a series you need to read and if you’ve read the first two; I have no doubt you’ll want to read this one. Nice thing is even though these books are part of a series; you really don’t have to read them in order to get the full affect. Yes, the characters are loosely connected but you won’t be lost reading them out of order. The important thing is….read this author, you will not be sorry and you’ll probably be kicking yourself for not reading her offerings sooner.

Samantha (Sam) Wallace has had a rough year and a half. Her father died, her family sold the business out from under her, and her husband cheated on her and left her. She’s moved her and her 5 year old daughter, Michaela (Michy) to Myrtle Beach to gain some distance from her family. She’s working a job she doesn’t really like but she’s good at and just trying to get her life in order. She never expects that a run in with a customer will throw her libido into overdrive and have her asking all kinds of questions about herself.

Kevin Mazze has always tried to do the right thing. However, doing the right thing is right now causing him some major headaches. He can’t get what he needs to keep his building project going, his relationship with his girlfriend is on life support and he’s hanging on until her sister’s wedding is done in two weeks, and he just met the woman of his dreams. He just can’t get a break and even though he knows he’s crossing some lines he shouldn’t, he’s determined for once to do what he wants.

Honestly, I flat out adore these characters. Despite their issues, separately they are great but together they are spectacular. When you add in Michy, they are over the moon. Sam sees the opportunity to jump start her dead in the water sex life. She has no idea that Kevin has been seeing someone even though he knows it’s over but he hasn’t broken it off. Kevin honestly tries to do the right thing but…well, things get out of hand pretty quickly and although he feels horrible he also truly FEELS something big for Sam. I’ll admit, I was a little disappointed with Kevin in the beginning especially when he slept with his girlfriend one night and Sam the next. However, I like that he was disgusted with himself over it and his conscience was telling him he was being a pig. Even with that episode, he really is a great guy and the way he jumps in to help Sam and his overwhelming acceptance of Michy made me forgive his indiscretion. Sam is such a strong woman and I admire that she goes after what she wants. I also like that she doesn’t let Kevin walk all over her. She makes big brownie points for listening and gathering information and for apologizing. Kevin gets points in that department as well.

Their sexual relationship starts quickly when Kevin finds Sam’s stash of sex toys. When she admits she likes the thought of a ménage but she’s not sure she could go through with it, Kevin finds a unique way to give her what she needs. Their intimate scenes are sexy, fun, and very, very entertaining. I like that they communicate about their wants and needs and are determined to explore new things together.

From start to finish I couldn’t help but love this story and I could not put it down! The immediate interest and sexual vibes the characters were throwing off build the intensity from the first chapter. The characters are fun, loveable, and sexy as hell. It was nice to check in with characters from the first two stories and I really loved seeing Erik and Kat in a good place. Most of all I loved the fact that despite the mistakes made, these characters were willing to listen and work through their problems with a true sense of forgiveness. There was just an overall feeling of goodness to this book, yet it was still an entertaining love story with some very erotic, sexy moments. I’m so excited I discovered Alannah Lynne’s work last year, she has quickly become a must read author for me!

Kevin Mazze is introduced in book one, Saving Me, as Erik Monteague's long time friend. As I read Saving Me, I was curious about both Kevin and Steve, another friend of theirs. I was delighted when I realized book three in this series, Crossing Lines, would be Kevin's story.

Kevin, a successful land developer, is under stress with problems with his current building site. When the building inspector Samantha Wallace comes for an inspection, Kevin finds himself attracted to Samantha, but the problem is he is currently in an on-off relationship with Lizbeth. While knowing that he wants to break things off for good with Lizbeth, she is in the midst of planning her sister's wedding to his friend and foreman Wade. While Lizbeth seems to be wanting to make more of a serious commitment to Kevin, he finds himself becoming involved with Samantha - without breaking it off with Lizbeth first.

Samantha Wallace, a single mom and building inspector, has just relocated two months earlier trying to leave her ex-husband and his cheating ways in the past. When she meets Kevin, she is instantly attracted to him. Her toy drawer helps her entertain these lustful thoughts. Although she only wants Kevin for a fling, she finds herself becoming more involved.

When Kevin and Lizbeth's relationship comes to light will there be a chance for Kevin and Samantha?

As I said before, when I read Saving Me, Kevin intrigued me. There was just something about him. While I don't condone cheating, I did feel like Kevin was a genuinely good guy. He was making himself miserable and piling on the stress by going out of his way to make everyone happy - except for himself. He knew Lizbeth wasn't the one for him, but tried to think of her feelings and wait until after the wedding before hurting her. Besides being a genuine guy, Kevin is handsome, intelligent, and a hard worker. He cares about his friends, as shown in Saving Me and this book.

Samantha has problems she is dealing with on her own. Her ex-husband screwed with her head and her confidence and months later his words still ring in her mind. She's also hesitant to introduce her daughter to Kevin thinking that it may not work between them and she doesn't want to see her daughter get attached. As a single mom myself, I can totally relate to this and thought Samantha's cautiousness was a good mom trait.

Alannah creates ideal men who us women readers love to love. While somewhat flawed or scarred in some way, Alannah's talent in creating characters that readers love to see get their happily ever after is quite amazing. There hasn't been one character I haven't enjoyed and I love all of Alannah's male leads. While I genuinely enjoyed and recommend Saving Me and Last Call, Crossing Lines is my favorite book yet!

Review by Trinette Dungee

Single mom Samantha Wallace has been going it alone long enough. She’s decided to make sexy as sin Kevin Mazze her new boy toy. Kevin Mazze is always the one to make others happy. But for once he’s determined to do what makes him happy and that mean Samantha Wallace.

This is book number three in Alannah Lynne’s Heat Wave Series but it can be read as a standalone (Saving Me & Last Call are the first two books). I haven’t read the first two but I have added them to my TBR list.
Sam is fed up with cheating exes and a family that doesn’t support her. After the death of her father and the failure of her marriage Sam takes her daughter and decides to relocate and start over fresh. When she meets Kevin she realizes she’s definitely missing something in her life that her draw full of “happiness” can’t provide. Sex with no strings attached that’s what Sam wants but she quickly learns that not only is Kevin too addicting for her, he’s also got her daughter's attention as well. He’s pretty much carved out a space in their lives and that scares Sam, she’s not willing to risk heartache again and she definitely isn’t willing to risk it for her daughter.

Not happy in his current relationship, Kevin decides he’s going to end it with Lizbeth, after all their “relationship” has been over for quite some time he just hadn’t put it to rest. Kevin and Lizbeth are serving as Best Man and Maid of Honor in the upcoming wedding of Kevin’s friend Wade and Lizbeth’s sister. Knowing Lizbeth can be a bit of a drama queen and not wanting her to ruin the wedding he decides to wait until after the wedding before breaking this news to Lizbeth. Just two weeks and he can be free. Problem number one for Kevin, he meets Sam during these two weeks. He is immediately attracted to her and before he knows it he is in a “somewhat” relationship with her. Suddenly having Sam and her daughter in his life as permanent fixtures seems to be all he can think about. Problem number two, Sam’s ex cheated on her basically saying the relationship had been over for a while…..sound familiar? Kevin knows he needs to handle this as quickly as possible and he knows he needs to come clean with Sam. Will he tell her Sam before it all comes out?

Very enjoyable read; Sam and Kevin were both characters that were a little different than what I’m used to experiencing in this type of situation. In this situation, Sam was the aggressor. She made it quite clear to Kevin what she wanted and she didn’t stop until she got it. Kevin was honestly a nice guy. There was never any ill-intent with him he just had a few complications. This was a quick read and very enjoyable. Books four and five (Going All In & Matter of Time) have also been added to my TBR list!

Kevin Mazze, owner of Mazze Builders hasn’t been happy in his relationship for a very long time. He knows he needs to let Lizbeth know that things between them are over, but he needs to wait for 2 more weeks so that their break up doesn’t ruin the wedding they are both a part of. Needing the certificate of occupancy for the current project he is working on, he meets the building inspector who is holding him up. Once he meets the building inspector Kevin can’t stop thinking about her, and not just for the CO he is waiting for.

Samantha “Sam” Wallace can’t stop thinking about the sexy Kevin Mazze. Her toy drawer may end up getting a work out with the naughty thoughts she thinks of Kevin. When Kevin insists on taking care of Sam and her daughter one weekend, Sam is hard pressed to say no. She only wants Kevin for a fling, she never wants to be hurt again like she was when her ex-husband left. Can Sam just have her fling, or will she want a lot more from Kevin?

Ok where is the fire extinguisher?! I swear my kindle is on fire after reading this book! Holy hotness, Kevin is smoking in the bedroom! Kevin actually surprised me. When we first met him in Savin’ Me, I honestly thought there would be nothing more to him then being a playboy. He is actually the nice guy who would rather suffer and be miserable, than to possibly ruin a friend’s wedding by breaking up with Lizbeth, who is in the wedding also. He never wants to set out to hurt Lizbeth, but he has known for a while that things were over, and once he meets Sam he knows he wants her, not just for sex but for more.

Sam is hesitant to get fully involved with Kevin. She doesn’t want her daughter to become too attached to Kevin if things don’t work out between them. Sam also needs to deal with some personal issues that she has held onto for a while now. She deserves some happiness, and wants to explore some of her fantasies with Kevin. When the truth about Kevin and Lizbeth’s relationship comes to light, what will the future hold for Kevin and Sam?

This is my favorite book of the series so far. It was hotter than the other two in my opinion, and the series is coming together nicely. There is just something about seeing or meeting someone for the first time and knowing that they are the other half of your soul and that you want them in your life that makes me love a book even more. Add to it a sexual attraction that can ignite into flames at a moment’s notice and you have a book that will not disappoint.

This book is more of a 3.6-3.9 range...Out of all three books in this series, this one is my favorite. :) Each book has gotten a little bit hotter, and this one was sizzling! Kevin and Sam (Samantha) were just so stubborn, tough and vulnerable at the same time. I adored them. Sam is a single mom, and is working an inspector for the city. Kevin's family owns a construction company and the project they are working on needs the approval of the city inspector if they are to open on time. There's just one catch-they don't have enough water pressure and instead of caving into the good boys club, Sam tells Kevin that she isn't going to pass them unless they meet the code. Both are instantly attracted to each other-Kevin loves how Sam wasn't afraid to shut his ass down and stuck to her guns-even if it did threaten his project.

The two go on their way, but Sam feels bad about shutting down his operation because she used to be in construction herself and knows how costly something like that can be, so she works to see if she can find an alternate solution that would make both of them happy. She finds one, and much to her surprise meets up with Kevin much sooner then she expects to. He's the uncle of the little boy her daughter, is friends with at daycare and the two little ones had made plans to meet at the boardwalk over the weekend. They all end up spending the day together, and sparks fly between Sam and Kevin. I loved how nice Kevin was to her daughter, and oh I just wanted to give that man a hug. He's going through some serious issues, and spending time with Sam and her daughter made him realize that he needs to say no more often and take more care of himself. I normally don't like books with single moms (I'm a shallow reader) but this one is the exception to that rule. Sam's daughter was just so cute, and didn't detract from the romance at all. If anything, I loved how she showed a different side to both Kevin and Sam.

Crossing Lines is the hottest of the three books, and has just a touch of bdsm in it. I loved how there was a lot of hot sex in this book, but yet at the same time there was more romance in it and I loved that. I also liked how just when I thought the big "misunderstanding" was going to be predictable, there was a twist that I really enjoyed in it.

The Heat Wave Series by Alannah Lynne is a terrific series you don't want to miss. Each book works well as a stand alone, and is different in heat levels. I honestly can't wait to go through Alannah's backlist now. ;)

After reading the second book in the series I was certain that the first one will forever be my favorite, but now I am not so sure. This is once again different from the others, but what makes it stand out is that it perfectly combines characters from all the previous ones. I tend to stay away from crossover novels, but this one was truly amazing.

The plot is simpler in a way, there are not so many twists and turn like in the previous ones, the atmosphere is calmer, lighter. The characters are more carefree in a way and that makes the reader feel calmer. The title is absolutely perfect for the book and I am glad that the cover resembles the other ones. The book is well written and easy to read which makes it more enjoyable for the reader.

Sam is a very interesting character. On one hand she makes me believe that she is a tomboy , but on the other she is graceful. She was screw over by life too many times, but she is still positive and still capable of fighting for what she wants. I guess the fact that she is a mother gives her strength to keep going. I was surprised when I discovered that she was peculiar preferences, it was totally unexpected. You will see what I am talking about when you read the book. Yes, I said when because you will, I am sure of it!

Kevin is perfect, simply perfect. I liked him in the first book as Erik’s friends and now I like him even more after I really got to know him. He is kind and carefree, but it took him a long time until he found the one he was looking for. He was a total womanizer, but he had no problem settling down when he found what he was looking for. I was so glad to see that he adjusted so well to his new life and position. He fell in love with both mother and child. So many other man that led the life he did stay away from single mothers, I am glad that Kevin is not one of them.

You should definitely read this book because you will love it, I promise you that!

Kevin Mazze has finally met his match and right now she is blocking him from opening his new building. Sam Wallace may be new in town, but she is not new to the world of construction. Even though she can’t legally permit him to open the building now, she is willing to try and help him find an alternative water line plan that would allow his business to open. Sam can try all she wants to deny her physical attraction to Kevin, but after one ill-fated mishap at the boardwalk with her daughter, Michaela, Kevin comes to her rescue and she decides to give-up and indulge in a few fantasies. Kevin has a few secrets of his own, but he knows that he is attracted to this headstrong, single mother. When Kevin helps Sam home, he discovers her secret drawer filled with toys and all bets are off in his mind.

This is the third novel in the Heat Wave series. Fans of the previous two books will be excited to see the updates on some of the previous characters. Alannah Lynne’s books overflow with sizzling chemistry and passion. With each new book, the characters and storylines dive further into the land of eroticism. Crossing Lines is filled with sex toys and sexual explorations. Though this style of romance is not for everyone, most romance fans will be swept up in all of the passion. This book reunites old characters with several new ones and sets up the possibilities for future storylines. Romance readers will surely be on the lookout for what Alannah Lynne writes next.

This book was won as first read! I must say this was an exceptional book I rate at 5 stars! I do wish the ending was a little longer and more details at end because it was so good and just ended too quickly. I will also say her style of writing was fantastic and now has me wanting more from this author as by end of chapter one I was fully pulled into the story. I wish a love story could happen like that to me in real life!
Now the story Sam a single mother has been betrayed by her brothers, her husband was a cheat, and her father died. Her self esteem is low because of this. She decides to pack up and move south. After the move as a single mother she gets a job and becomes familiar with town. She is a building inspector and just denies Kevin mazze his permit. He is hot and pissed and she hides behind her glasses ~ Kevin is pissed but intrigued by this 5 foot pixie standing up to him. He is pissy and wants to see her eyes as they part they both have thoughts of one another but put it aside.
Sams daughter is dying for a play date with spencer when they end up meeting up; Sam trips chasing her daughter as she darted to meet Spencer. Sam trips in the sand a low and behold spencer is with his uncle Kevin mazze the hot builder she had fantasies of the night before. He pics her up and heat and heart if the story goes on from there but he is hiding something~ by the end of chapter one the story unfolds with great sex, turmoils and love the story is nicely put together and a quick read with a great romance story~ a must read for anyone loving romance witha little hot steamy sex and oh yeah a night of fantasy ménage

Sam, a single mother, has been betrayed by everyone in her life, her mother, brothers and her husband (now ex-husband). She’s not looking for love, in fact she’s never getting married again. Her daughter, Michy, has a new best friend named Spencer and wants to go to the beach to meet him on the boardwalk. Since she wanted to meet his mom anyway to maybe set up a play date with them, Sam was fine with that plan. What she didn’t count on was that Spencer would be with his uncle, who is no other than the hot man she fantasized about the night before.

Kevin is in the relationship from hell with Lizbeth. He wants out but doesn’t want to do so until the wedding she is planning, where she’s the maid of honor and he’s the best man takes place, at his house no less. He is instantly attracted to Sam but tries to hold off. He doesn’t want to hurt anyone and he can wait two weeks, right? WRONG! Sam definitely didn’t make it easy for him.

The sex scenes in this book were amazing. The author wrote a menage scene with two people that was OMG HOT! She made it seem like three people where there even to the reader. I felt Sam’s panic when she thought someone unknown was seeing her that exposed. I love when an author can draw you so far into a book that you feel everything the character is feeling and sometimes more. It makes the story so much more real.

Ms. Lynne is a new-to-me author, but I will definitely be checking out more of her work. The first two books of the Heat Wave series have been added to my to be read list. I can’t wait!

**I was provided an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. I did not receive any compensation for providing my opinion.**

Crossing Lines by Alannah Lynne was a surprising read for me. The book was full of love, lust and heat. It is a story about exploring your desires and opening yourself up to love. It is also a story about forgiveness and moving forward. It is a great, quick read and there were many spots where I had to fan myself.

Crossing Lines is about Samantha Wallace, a divorcee with an adorable 5 year old daughter who is trying to overcome the betrayal of her family and ex-husband, and Kevin Mazze, a sexy developer who is in a dead end relationship but due to circumstances has held off on ending it. When these two meet, there is instant chemistry and they soon find their sexual fantasies and desires are very much alike. However, choices made by Kevin in an attempt to protect Samantha come to light and threaten to break the two apart before they really ever had a chance.

This story meets all my requirements for a great, four star read. The plot moves along at a great pace and keeps the reader engaged. The characters are well developed and have great dynamics with each other. There is just enough sex and heat to satisfy the reader’s needs without overtaking the entire story. There is a great balance of humor, sex and drama that create a well rounded story.

Crossing Lines,  Alannah Lynne
Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews
This is a shortish read at around 170 pages, and takes place over just a few days, except for the epilogue. I’d rather read novels that cover a longer time, but of course those need the longer length to play out properly. There’s a market for shorter books, and for a shortish, steamy romance this worked well.
I liked Kevin, and of course Sam and her daughter. Its a kind of simple plot, where Kevin and Sam are attracted right from the start but Kevin wants to do the right thing and sort his personal life out first. he can’t do that right now though, and his reasons do make sense...kind of. He’s just such a nice guy that he’s always putting others first and himself last. Then he meets Sam. Its clear she’s attracted and circumstances throw them together before he’s had time to sort out something important. Sam’s lovely, independent with a gorgeous young daughter, but has been badly let down in the past by her family and her ex which has left mental scars.
In such a short book there’s some serious sensual moments and if you like a quick, hot read with a feel-good romance this is perfect. For me its a little too short, a bit too quick. I like my romances ideally to play out over weeks or months even so everything gets time to be propely laid down. Here its a little too quick for me, hence the three stars.

Stars: Three, a good read, hot and sensual but just a bit too brief for me covering only a few days.

This is another book I received from Netgalley in exchange for a review:

The blurb reads:

This starts off as any other romance story and progresses at a reasonable pace with Kevin battling his own demons and Sam dangerously attracted to the Italian. What it lacked though was a build up to the chemistry. The author writes about how attracted the characters are to each other but as a reader, I didn’t feel it. However their sexual chemistry was off the charts. This author seriously knows how to write saucy scenes. And not the sweet, tingle your toes kisses kind of saucy. No, I mean downright raunchy. 50 Shades had nothing on this story and in a much better way. The scenes were well written and the anticipation heightened which for me really made up for the lack of earlier build up.

The one peev I had with this whole story though was the fact that [SPOILER]…. Kevin goes from sleeping with Lizbeth one night and then consummating his attraction with Sam the very next night. Regardless of how primal ones attraction can be, for me it just held a hell of an ick factor and I felt disappointed in Kevin for that.

All else though, he was a pretty likeable character. I preferred his interaction with Michaela and Spencer than anyone else though. Sam for me was just boring. Nothing stood out about her. she was described as strong and independent but again as a reader, I wasn’t feeling it. But not so much that I disliked her.

Another light, sexy read if you are looking to pass the time quickly.

CROSSING LINES is book 3 in the Heat Wave Series, It can be read as a stand alone.

Sam is a divorced mom that has been hurt or abandoned by everyone she knows she satisfies her carnal needs with a drawer full of toys supplied by her best friend who is an in home demonstrator, Kevin has no plans to fall in love in fact the woman he is involved with is driving him crazy so the last thing he needs is another relationship.

I did not like Kevin in the beginning of this book, he is said to be "too nice" or "one of the good guys" but I thought he came across as a spineless jerk as far as dealing with the woman he was supposed to be involved with, I did grow to love him especially because of the way he deals with his nephew and Sam's daughter.
Sam I felt bad for she had been dumped on by life and was doing it on her own (in more ways than one) When she starts getting involved with Kevin things move pretty quickly.

Over all this book is good alone but better as part of the series, as a stand alone I liked it but it lacked the depth of story you get from reading the whole series. We had some sudo-BDSM play and lots of toys as well as some melt your panties hot sexual tension. I loved the interesting way that Kevin came up with to fulfill one of Sam's fantasies, as well as the tenderness he shows for her while taking care of her when she is hurt.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

Crossing Lines is book number three in Alannah Lynne's Heat Wave series and re-introduces us to Kevin Mazze, who was introduced in book one as one of Eric Monteague's best friends and a successful land developer. Here he meets and falls for Samantha Wallace, a single mom who's relocated to the area and is working as a building inspector. Kevin's in an on-again, off-again relationship with someone but has been wanting to end it for weeks and Sam's still feeling the effects of her ex-husband cheating on her. They're both attracted to one another but there are complications on both sides.

Though Kevin was already contemplating splitting up with his girlfriend when he met Sam, the fact that he hadn't basically underscores that he cheated and Sam has an aversion to cheating, no thanks to her ex-husband and his secretary. This presents an interesting dynamic to the story because Kevin really is a good guy who tries his best to not hurt anyone but even the best of intentions can lead to making wrong choices. I liked the complexity that surrounded their relationship and how Sam's daughter Michaela was wise beyond her years. Crossing Lines was both naughty and nice! 4.5 stars! ♥

I may have loved this book but book two in the series still trumps.

Kevin we met in book one and works for the family firm with his sister Marianne. His father has gone on holiday leaving him with a problem at work that he cant afford to sit around and wait to deal with.

Samantha (Sam) is currently an inspector and used to work for her fathers construction company before he died and her family sold the business from under her.

She also walked in on her husband banging his secretary and is now raising her daughter alone.

Sparks fly between them from the moment they meet, especially as Sam cannot give them the certificate they need to continue. Having worked in the business she knows how hard it is and that night works on some options to help them.

A chance meeting at the beach and a twisted ankle later Kevin and Sam spend the weekend together even though Kevin hasn't officially broken up with his girlfriend.

After a good few bumps, tears and giggling children this couple learn what they can't live without, and what they can forgive.

A spicy read a times that will leave you believing that love conquers all.

I read the first half of this book at the gym and couldn’t stop myself from laughing out loud. Thank goodness I was the only one there since I’m sure I looked like a weirdo. Then things started to heat up in the book and I knew I couldn’t finish it at the gym, even if I was alone. There are some ridiculously steamy moments in this book, one of them being a fantasy come true scene that really just takes the entire cake (even I’m not 100% sure how Kevin pulled it all off).

I’ve been a fan of this series since book one and I hope that Alannah continues it. I’ve been waiting for Kevin’s chance at love and I was not disappointed in what I got. I loved Sam and her daughter Michy. They were exactly what Kevin needed. And for the most part I loved Kevin, although there was a moment where I wanted to reach through the book and shake him. Of course that moment came back to bite him, but it really all worked out so well for everyone involved.

This is definitely a great series to read. The books are fun, sexy and quick. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great romance series.

This was by far my favorite book in the series. I loved Kevin. And Sam was a spit fire. Sam has been hurt in the worst possible way by those who should have believed in her and stood by her side. Her family ripped the company away from her after her father died, selling it off to others. Her husband cheated on her with his secretary, and of course blamed her. She is weary of trusting, but when she meets Kevin she wants him. Even if its just a hot romp in the sheets. But who could know that she would fall for him or that her daughter would as well?
Kevin has alot of shit going on in his head. He is in a relationship that he doesn’t want to be, but can’t end it until after the wedding. Why? Because he is to nice of a guy, but then things change when he meets Sam. He tells himself to stay away for 2 weeks, how hard could that be? Staying away proves to be harder and harder as the days go by until he can’t and falls.
Their relationship grows, but things that each want to keep hidden comes to surface. Will they make it? Or will Sam’s trust issues stand in the way?

***4.5 out of 5 stars***

I’ve been a fan of Alannah Lynne since I read her first story Reaction Time years ago. I’ve loved all the books in the Heat Wave series and can only say Lynne delivers again with a hot and sexy love story with Crossing Lines.

I loved both Kevin and Sam from the moment they appeared on the page. I especially loved how sweet Kevin was to Sam’s little girl. The sexual chemistry in this book is off the charts! Loved how both Kevin and Sam were more than ready to explore all of their fantasies together. Have to say the fantasy threesome was one of the hottest scenes in the book.

Alannah Lynne’s books are perfect for readers who love a story with great relationships along side smoking hot love scenes. While I think this book can be read as a stand-alone, I think both Savin’ Me and Last Call are so wonderful, you should read them first. For more information about this book or any other from Alannah Lynne, check out her website.

"4 out of 5 stars, during a whirlwind weekend, Kevin's life comes to a crossroads and changes forever when temptation gets the best of him. When Sam (Samantha) and her daughter, Michaela, fall into his life, they unintentionally save him but since it's a very complicated time for him, the choices he makes aren't always the best ones. Once all Kevin's secrets come to light, will he be able to pick up all the pieces after the fallout and really get a relationship going between Sam and himself? Or will it be too little too late?

This fast-paced novel is very erotic but sweet in the way that Sam & Kevin get to know one another. I liked it even though I'm still a little appalled by Kevin's decisions. Nevertheless..."

Steamy, fun, quick read!

A bit too short to my liking, the story would have lent itself to a bit more exploration, but I did not put it down once.
The characters had good chemistry and the love scenes were definitely scorchers! Personally I found Kevin to be the more sympathetic character of the two, a bit more mature and empathetic, even though his choices weren't always wise, his thoughts were usually centred around how his actions would affect others. Whereas Samantha was so enveloped in hurt-mode, that she was more concerned about what was right for her, without much thought at all about any ripple effect.
All in all they were a good match, and I loved the fact that they had a connection in an unconventional field for women; construction. I worked in that men-dominated environment myself.....and loved it!!

Thumbs up!

The 3rd book in the Heat Wave series is just as hot as its predecessors. Loved the chemistry between Kevin and Sam (don’t you dare call her Samantha!), loved Kevin’s tender side when he takes care of Sam after she hurt herself, just melted my heart and oh how Sam’s daughter pulls at Kevin’s heartstrings. Add in some personal issues that each has, but it always comes down to their growing feelings for each other and their hot sexual attraction, there’s a big connection between them. I enjoyed having some of the previous characters show up, always great to hear how they are doing.

Alannah puts so much emotion in her words, her books are scorchers, if you haven’t read the previous stories make sure you do.

After reading books #1 and #2 of the series, I was HOOKED!!!! I love how Alannah Lynne's world creates such relate-able characters. I love how Sam and Kevin explored and acted on their sexual wants and needs with hesitation and doubt in the beginning. I enjoyed the development of the characters past relationships, turmoils, and resolutions. I found the book to be quite chaotic, romantic and erotic at the same time. I enjoyed catching up on Erik and Kat, and hope to see another book coming out in this series soon. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to curl up for a steamy read.

Thanks again, for allowing me to read your work. You are very talented, and I look forward to reading.

Obviously not my cuppa. Capable woman has family business sold out from under here by stupid brothers and mother who didn’t respect her enough to even consult her. She has a cheating ex and a plot muppet daughter named, unfortunately, after her cheating ex. She meets Mr. Wonderful and decides to pursue. In the meantime, Mr. Wonderful also falls hard and spends the rest of the book trying to handle his new love, her daughter, all his new and fun sexy times, AND his fiancée who is melting down planning their wedding.

Yuck, yuck and double yuck. So, it’s okay to have a threesome with another fella but you get your nose out a whack to discover fiancée. Boohoohoo.

A book SO BAD I created a deleted shelf. Deleting it actually made me feel a little better.

This is the third in the Heat Wave series and I think it tops my list. Each book has great scenes with the hero and heroine but I think Kevin and Sam are my favorite. We met Kevin Mazze, the Italian stud, from Erik and Kat's story and I was so look forward to seeing him get his HEA. Sam Wallace is the spunky building inspector that throws him for a loop.

I really enjoyed this story and hope that Steve will get a story and who would be is soul mate. I'm thinking someone who like to get dirty since he rides dirt bikes. One can only hope. Alannah Lynne did a fabulous job and I can't wait for the next story.

Thanks to the author for a book to read and review.

Kevin and Sam make a lovely story. Crossing the lines was an enjoyable read but I just didn't think it was going to end well. Sam has been hurt before, her ex husband was cheating during her marriage. Also her family didn't believe in her and sold the family business, without letting her manage it. Kevin meets Sam but is still in a relationship with another woman. Before he can end it with the other woman, he becomes intimate with Sam. Anyone with issues about reading about men who cheat should avoid this particular book. I dont and it was fine. Overall entertainment was three stars.

Crossing Lines drew me in. I'm not a huge fan of books with cheating, but for some reason I could read this one and not get upset. For Kevin things in his life are spiraling out of control and quickly. Sam is getting her life back together after the destruction of the last few years.

When these two meet and butt heads, no one expects sparks to fly. A chance meeting on the boardwalk and prince charming to the rescue leads to quite the romance. I really enjoyed this book.

The characters were developed the story flowed the sex was good, but outside of the sex was just as good. I may have to read the rest of the series now.

Wow! This has to be Alannah's best yet! I loved the first 2 in the Heat Wave series, but this one blew them out of the water. Wildman Kevin has met his match and then some in Sam ( don't call her Samantha!). The chemistry burns of the pages and the emotions grab the reader and you will NOT be able to put this book down. There's some familiar faces from the previous books, so I would recommend reading them in order, but it's not a must.

There's also some great teasers for some new characters and storylines! Oh Master Lucas, can't wait for MORE about you!

This author knows how to grab a reader from the first few pages of her book. I love how she mixes LOL humor in with just the right touch. I can almost picture it taking place as I read. This book is about Kevin & Sam. They meet on a construction site which Sam, short for Samantha is the building inspector. These two connect in so many ways that I found myself routing for them from the beginning. Grab this book & the other 2 out in this series so far, you will love the books as much as I have. I cannot get enough from Alannah Lynne, my new favorite author that I'm so happy to have found.
